What you really want, are a pair of EMU (brand) boots. Emily swears by them, and apparently, they're more popular in Australia than Uggs
Also, they're made so the 'hard rubber' of the sole, rather than being totally flat, goes up at the back into the 'foam' later, so any unusual foot pressure won't wear into the foam so quickly
Fear not, I have EMUs, too. There hasn't been a [censored]-over-[censored] trend set by the Olsen Twins that I haven't followed. Nice one, Vicky.
BTW, the EMU v. UGG rivalry reminds me of the Husky v. Barbour jackets one. Well we know who won that one, don't we.
EDIT: "I forgot to say, but apparently, Paris Hilton once said she wouldn't be seen dead in Ugg boots.
"
She would look like Saskquatch! I have small feet, she's got clodhoppers.

Feh, you're safe. They're back in now.
They were this Christmas's safe bet for those with magpie wags.
Oh thank God. I mean, oh bugger. Like I want to look like Sienna Miller all my life.
It's bad enough I look like half of Richmond-on-Thames...
-
Yes, yes, I know. My boyfriend thinks they're UGGLEE too. But I have to keep justifying the pricetag, since they were in fashion 4 years ago...
P.S.: I'll take a Fiddy shot for you to compare. I'm a size 7 US.

I think the worst case scenario for her is that she was being genuine.
You have to think of WHY she was being genuine, though, CT. Cynics like us would say she was upset because she feels 1600 slipping away. I give her the benefit of the doubt about feeling the emotion, but not as to the reasons. Others do, and I find that bewildering.
Frankly, there are many reasons why she isn't doing well. For one, Americans are tired of Bushes and Clintons. Bush Clinton Clinton Bush Bush Clinton Clinton could be the potential future of America. What is this, a monarchy?
I heard that last remark in the supermarket queue on Saturday.
Because first of all, and obviously, America doesn't need an emotionally unstable president at this juncture - or at any juncture for that matter.Absolutely.
And if the campaign trail is more than she can handle, then she certainly doesn't belong in the oval office.I couldn't agree more. I can't believe sweet, demure Condi Rice, who looks like a lady who wouldn't be capable of hurting a fly, has more balls than she does. She stared down many a personal attack in her trips abroad, with grace under pressure.
Does that really look like a soft, weepy woman?Neither was this one.
Like her, hate her, and there are many who will dance in the streets when she goes, but MY GOD THAT WAS A WOMAN. Moreover, that was a PRIME MINISTER.
Look at those eyes, and tell me America doesn't deserve a leader of that calibre, not a fussbucket who cries every time she's attacked.
P.S.: Diana Gould, who became something of a celebrity afterwards, gave as good as she got. Women are never scared of other women. At least, I'm not.

I'm not a fan, but I was touched by what I took as a moment of truth.
Can you imagine Margaret Thatcher or Golda Meir getting teary-eyed like that? Oh God.
Lots of people think it was staged. Not I. I believe her advisors said, after she had a disastrous debate on Saturday (looking daggers at all the men, alternating with, "That hurts my feelings", yeesh), "try be more emotional, show your vulnerable side."
So whilst I think the question was a plant, and that she had that advice in the back of her mind, I think she was being genuine.
Well, as genuine as a phoney can be...
Anyway, she's going to lose three in a row (Iowa, NH & South Carolina). Unlike Rudy, she never had a "it's all starts in Florida" strategy, and she's in serious difficulties financially: down to 25m. Oops.
EDIT: Obviously, she should adapt the Segol

I like the 1960s style of this watch... if they took off the Panerai labeling they would probably sell many of these...
Hmm. The Urinator doesn't do anything for me, Corgi.
But you kinda dance on my original question -- of how the rep watch scene is in Russia? If the motivation is there to own a rep, etc.
Just who are you going to impress in Russia, with a Panerai, Lange, etc.? The people who are in the know, know your watch is fake. Worse, because money is so fresh and ABUNDANT in Moscow, amongst that set of people you will be outted immediately as a poseur.
It's like wearing a rep PAM at a restaurant near the Beverly Hills Panerai boutique. Potential embarrassment factor = 100%.
EDIT: I have a post on old Russian Imperial watches I was working on, before my Dell HD kicked the bucket. I'll have to re-download all my pics, and re-type everything, so it won't be as nice. Coming soon though.

Interesting site.
Some watches there I would be seriously interested in, too bad it isnt on the level.
I had the same reaction. Some are godawful, but the variety of godawfulness is rather intriguing!
Just to see what KINDS of A. Lange reps have technically been available, is a handy reference to have.
Why is it that our collectors here dont have some "different" stuff like this"?Well, because they're reputable.
Seriously, they know their clientele by now. The backstreet Guangzhou tschokes would raise some eyebrows here.
It's like buying stereo equipment. Would you rather do so at an audio-only store, or take your chances with Best Buy, who sell anything from fridges to DVDs to popcorn makers?
( Please dont someone say that it isnt popular, Pams and similar do nothing for me )It's an interesting point, though. Even Jay doesn't offer these in his reapie-cheapie watchsilix.site.
thanks Vic for the insight anyway.Much appreciated, Rodwc!

I am so sad that it's somehow too big for me, but am happy it found a new house where it will be taken care of...
Don't you think it's a little "freaky" to see a watch you had, on another RWG'ers wrist? It's one of the best parts of this hobby.
Oh, BTW, I didn't buy this watch for me. It is too big too.
I am a true collector -- I just like owning a large variety watches.
Queen Elisabeth II in Versailles... Sounds supernatural...Don't kill me, Pix, but Versailles is a little overrated. *gg*

I recently asked what the Russian rep watch scene was like, you might recall. Not receiving an answer, I went in search of info myself.
Here's one Russian Federation site, which offers loads of rep watches, the *Moscow Store Collection:
http://www.moscowstore.com/index.php?osCsi...2683fbcebb60c52
This is NOT an authorised forum site, so please be careful. I just thought you might be interested in the site. Speaking of which, it has a strangely Chinese look and feel, don't you think? Or maybe they all use the same template. And don't look now, but it does offer some A. Lange watches, which Emmzy and others have or want:
http://www.moscowstore.com/index.php?cPath...2683fbcebb60c52
But in fact, it's not properly a rep watch site, but offers a stunning array of old Russian Empire goods, like Baltic amber and Gzhel pottery, the latter of which has been around for 700 years. Check them out:
Antique And Vintage
Baltic Amber
Baume & Mercier
Birch Bark Crafts
Decorative Eggs
Enamel Jewelry
Flasks And Lighters
Fridge Magnets
Gemstone Jewelry
Glass Figurines
Gzhel Pottery
Handcrafted Dolls
Laser-Etched Crystals
Majolica Art
Miscellaneous
Nesting Dolls
Pearl Brooches
REPLICA BAZAAR
Replica Watches
Russian Shawls
Cashmere Shawls
Pavlov Posad
Russian Watches
X-mas Gifts
You haven't lived until you've owned a Matryoska (Russian nesting doll) in the form of the Fightin' Irish of Notre Dame. Where's Touchdown Jesus?
I like the site for the kitschiness. Not too sure I'd run out to buy their Panerai though.
Poor Russkies. Now I know why they would be crazy about the Gaytonas.
*EDIT -- NOTE!!
Just remembered Dax' scam list post, and yes, unfortunately the Moscow Store Collection is there.
Again, please treat this as a curio, not a site you should buy anything from...

My wife was excited about her new Tag, so she wanted me to shoot a quick photo to show off.
Here's Mrs. Reb's wrist check
Thank Mrs. Reb for letting her new beauty to be photographed!
And tell her to join me in the Wristchecks, please. It's lonely sometimes here.
@Speedmaster below: Wow, wonder what By-Tor has to say!

Do you know how hard it is to find a decent reasonably priced Italian shoes these days - LOL!
Check those 2 ardillon/thumbnail buckles, ha, ha...
John Lobbs with an ardillon buckle on a PAM 114? Brilliant!
But Freddy is much more into fashion than I am -- at least, the kind you guys can wear. Thanks for the shoutout, Babola.

Hey Jot, no fair! You changed the first Ike pic with one of FDR. Well I have to redo it.
E- Hamilton Sub (?) with A- Ike Eisenhower (II)
F- Vulcain Cricket with B- Tony Blair
Into:
E- Toy Watch with B- Tony Blair
F- Vulcain Cricket with A- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Tell her what she's won, Don Pardo.
@Jot below: Cool photo! "Anthony"...oh dear.
-
Must have been worn by a modern world leader
Then Tony Blair, I'm guessing?
-
I have posted on (some of) these individually, but this is a fantastic round-up thread, jot9011!
Let me try:
A- Pulsar with F- Jerry Ford
B- Omega with H- Jack Kennedy
C- Timex Ironman with K- Bill Clinton
D- Universal Tri-Compax with D- Harry S. Truman
E- Hamilton Sub (?) with A- Ike Eisenhower (II)
F- Vulcain Cricket with B- Tony Blair
G- Omega Connie with C- Mikhail Gorbachev
H- Rolex Presidential with I- Dwight D. Eisenhower
I- Timex Indiglo with E- George W. Bush 43
J- Vacheron Constantin Tourby with G- Silvio Berlusconi
K- Patek Philippe with J- Vladimir Putin
Corrected below:
E- Toy Watch with B- Tony Blair
F- Vulcain Cricket with A- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Guesses:
- Dwight Eisenhower was known to wear a solid gold Presidential (he was the first, I believe), as was LBJ. No clue about that diver watch, so that's a guess.
- Harry Truman wore a simple 'grandpa' face Hamilton, so that's a guess
- Tony Blair is infamous for wearing a $30 Swatch, but he has been photographed wearing a Pepsi GMT (I posted a photo once)
Trivia:
- Bill Clinton is a watch queen, of course. In 1992, he had a humble Timex, but he's now a Panerista, he's into Kobolds, Ulysse Nardin, Blancpain, Roger Dubuis, etc.
- GHW Bush 41 wore Panerais before Clinton, but was a lifelong Patek man. Interestingly, for a man who loves watches, he wasn't featured here.

Gutted. I had pinned all my hopes on you.
Just kidding, darling. My God, what a stunning thing this is -- married (who cares how/why/when).
CONGRATULATIONS! I wish you and Emily blessings for a serene future together!!

The Muslim couple hated one another."
I've heard of Brides in the Bath, but this is Hubby In the Crapper. Sheesh. Whatever happened to saying, "I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you" and buh-bye?
Oh, yeah I forgot. Only men can do that.

... and to show you how easy it is, here's one I made earlier using just Quicktime Pro, Adobe Photoshop
Inspired by FxrAndy, I changed my avatar but though I tried to follow your instructions, couldn't get this to work.
Found this animated .gif on a site. Tried to resize it (being 1.6MB) but when I saved in Paint or one of the Gif Resizer proggies I downloaded, it wouldn't continue the animation. Several of the online gif resizer sites wouldn't upload such a large file.
So failing having Photoshop, are there any tips you can give me?
(I finally just uploaded the url and it worked)

Oh God, Vac! Someone very recently PMed me about finding a non-branded watch. I hope that person will see this post!
(Will check my PMs again, but I can't find who it was...)
-
Tourby, Mrandazzo said it right -- summer and Panerai go together like Monica Belluci and uh, just about anything in this world?
Put away your PAMs for a month, even two. Store the straps well, so they won't mould over.
And then you will see. By the time spring rolls around, you will fall in love again! Happened to me and Rolexes...

MONDAY
I wanted to surprise M. Pix -- I received his MAGNIFICENT Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offsore, in Rose Gold, on Saturday. So I took out my old, yellowing photo album to honour his native country for this Wristcheck.
Versailles has something in common with the AP ROO. It achieves pomposity, but looks absolutely right whilst doing it!
Modern yet classic. Just like the Louvre and I.M. Pei's pyramid.
TUESDAY
From La Belle France we go to a more discreet country, but still charming. That perfectly describes my new OEM Bordeaux Glossy Gator strap on the DSN PAM 112.
Mmmm, this gloss is as yummy as Vlaamse Frites!
...heard there's a bit of a pow-wow going on there next month. Enjoy it!
But back home for me, in La Belle South Florida, near my pool.
@UB7: Thank you so much! I want Pix to see this Wristie first, then I'll post a member trade review with more detailed shots. It's just GORGEOUS. Love your snow shots, BTW! Hoochman on 'Geeks had some too, and do I miss the snow, sometimes.
@Jon: Thanks too! And go for it! Woo, what a hit this is. How happy Pix will be.

I got a cat!
Some people hide their valuables in the refrigerator, including a Louisiana congressman or two I could mention...
My family have several bank vaults -- one for documents, passports, etc. and one for each member of the family to put in whatever they want inside, known only to them.
I won't say where I keep all those reps and gens I have, but just let's say, they're well-hidden.
-
Maybe they will correct the L SWISS MADE L on the next run of these watches? That would be excellent. Has anyone talked to Trusty, etc?
I believe I mentioned it in passing. EDIT: Can't post what I did, since I went to double-check, and can't find the reference.
A new trend. Limited Edition reps of Limited Edition gens.

Jos says the case is "Polish." Shouldn't is be Latvian or at least brushed?
More like "Calgon". Ancient Chinese secret, huh.
high quality single sided ARWhich also reminds me -- Andrew lists his as Double AR.
Whilst beautiful, don't Panerai watches have single-sided AR, in their entirety?
-
Ta mate was trying to describe it to the wife
I'd have paid good money to see that. Especially the bit where you fire off your "gun".
Attention rep makers! We want this watch!
in The Panerai Area

I don't have any PVD PAMs, and frankly, I think PVD would look much too masculine on me. Okay, this is ceramic, same idea -- the rep would be PVD.
That and the fact that a PVD Radiomir is just SO wrong (it ruins the sleek lines of the case!), makes me think...yeah, I'd give this a shot.![:p](https://rwg.cc/datastore/emoticons/emoticons/default_blum.gif)
