  1. I've been thinking about getting one of these for the office, and was browsing Ebay this evening when I came across this auction whose description gave me a chuckle... "If you are not an authorized watch dealer, this item should be of no interest at all to you, unless you want to buy this for your own enjoyment, as there are few of these in the entire world and they are absolutely stunning for your home or office. As the manufacturer is no longer producing this clock, it is becoming more rare year by year." Or in other words, this should be of no interest to you unless you're a watch dealer, and what I mean by that is if you have any interest in timepieces whatsoever then you'd be absolutely crazy to pass up this stunning and increasingly rare clock because it will look amazing in your home office.
  2. Thanks for the teamwork here guys... I simply wasn't able to track who was paid and who wasn't without the forum names on so many payments, and then whose return address was whose, which members were the ones without return addresses included, didn't have the time to figure it all out, etc.... But enough of that. The important part is there's plenty of time to pull this together and with your help we'll be good to go!
  3. Now that's good stuff! Hats off!!
  4. As M mentioned, the pinkish hue is definitely typical of real sapphire. Once you have seen it, you can spot a sapphire vs mineral crystal almost without error and thickness does play a roll. The color at the edges is generally how it works with single AR also... Since you're still going to get reflections off the top surface, you really only see a slight hue at the edges from the coated underside. I can probably fit you in this run for a single crystal if you'd like to PM me.
  5. This movement is so suspect that you're trying to do all the case / crystal work without removing it? Wow, I wasn't aware of this and complicates things significantly.
  6. Some of the older subs, like the original Noobmariner, had their bezels installed so tightly that there was no way to remove them without bending. I'd worry less about scratching the insert once the bezel is removed than I would about bending the bezel trying to get it off.... If you work a razor blade around the case under the bezel, prying upward as you make your way around, and it's not coming off then I'd stop. Also, unfortunately, with the tight bezels the bezel removers are also ineffective.
  7. It looks like they're different models? Not a sub expert, but the dials are a different color and the gen has the metal borders around the hour markers, in addition to the difference in hash marks on the bezel....
  8. There is nothing like a constructive 5 minute phone call to clear up a day's worth of written misunderstandings and frustrations. Lani, next time we talk let's make it about booze and women, though.
  9. I'm simply dealing with a hectic schedule and am going to be taking on less hobby "work" in the immediate future - not more. I misunderstood how this was going to work, and regret that now. But it has already started to become too time consuming to correlate forum names with email addresses (when forum name isn't included), to track down return shipping addresses when they're not included in payments, etc. on top of the prep work for the crystals. I've set up a very organized flow for my AR runs that avoids all this headache, and decided these lenses needed to be handled like all the others I deal with... But if anyone has the time and wants to proxy this for me by organizing the lenses, the return addresses, and tracking and providing payments, we can still make a go of it in the upcoming run in two weeks. I myself just can't dedicate the extra time it was requiring. So as I have said, the offer to provide AR coating at the quoted price still stands and is available at any time if it doesn't work out this time. Thanks. PS - Fair enough, carlsbadrolex. Yes, I changed my mind about how to handle the details here because people weren't following the very clear (as you say) directions I provided and it had disaster written all over it. But, you are making assumptions and over reacting, as I am not rescinding the offer to provide AR services nor any prices quoted.
  10. Next time it happens, run traceroute and post the results so we can narrow it down. I have seen no RWG slowdowns around the time of your posts.
  11. You can rest assured, lani, that I will not make the same horrendous mistake twice. Jesus H
  12. Maybe he's also got a vast collection of heavy artillery in his home that isn't for sale.
  13. And with the hands, I don't think I've seen them under $1.2k recently....
  14. Two thumbs up!!! Great looking 001B!!
  15. Hmmm? I was just trying to help make sure this thing went smoothly for you, bro.
  16. Excellent deal. Color me jealous.
  17. That might be a sandwich crystal which would preclude the use of my cyclops anyhow.... Someone here will know for sure.
  18. Yea, my bad for having not followed the status.
  19. OK, and I am guilty of not knowing that you'd already obtained a sample that was verified to be good.... We're probably in the clear, then. Carry on!
  20. Just one word of advise here.... I've purchased 2.5X mags for Rollies in the past (not from this guy) that turned out to be anything but 2.5X upon arrival.... Make *sure* you've received what you paid for *prior* to sending these in for AR.
  21. Hmmm, I definitely like the one on the far right... It's different.
  22. You have too many fantastic pieces now and must sell at least one to me.
  23. I am using diamond paste exclusively now for removing AR. For removing scratches, however, it's not so straight forward. You need to start with a grit size larger than the size of the scratch and then gradually work down in grit sizes to acheive the final smooth/polished surface. It's not worth the expense, though, because the diamond paste is very expensive. Obtaining a new crystal is much cheaper.
