  1. Yea I agree. The one I'll be giving my brother will have the smooth bezel and oyster bracelet. It's the slightly older style, though... Matte finish oyster 78360, and beveled smooth bezel (as opposed to the newer rounded smooth bezel). I think this style serves perfectly as a crossover.
  2. OK that makes sense. Don't think I've ever seen a DJ with that dial. In the meantime, though, I think the rhodium datejust you've got there is absolutely gorgeous and a very suitable substitute. I'm going to be giving my brother a franken-gen DJ that will have the rhodium with roman marker dial soon. I think it's the most elegant, and yet somehow also works with jeans and a T shirt.
  3. Nice. I've thought about getting one of these as well, but in the end I just felt it simply doesn't have enough diamonds. The sides of the case, the rehaut, and the edges of the bracelet all lack diamonds. If I wanted to see white gold, then I'd just buy the white gold model.
  4. Agree with you 100%. I think the the glacier/ice blue dial is only available for the Day Date, and not the Datejust. Though I could be wrong.
  5. The T-crown looks amazing!! Great work!!
  6. I did... What are the auction titles in English for those? The ones I found on ebay (.com) were cheapos. The ones in your auctions look better. Thanks!
  7. Oh that black single box is very nice and this watch would look sharp in it!!! Yikes, though, 80 EUR shipped to the USA.... Thanks!!! I might just do it.
  8. Yea, I have considered that, Corgi. Heck, the watch is hardly even a rep: all gen except a 2892A2 movement. But somehow the gen box still seems a little cheesy. I don't know why. I would prefer a nice wooden box, but will go with a Rolex box if I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm sure you're right... He'd be pleased.
  9. Hello, I'm going to be giving my brother a very nice franken gift soon (pics will be taken before shipping it off) and am trying to find a nice wooden watch box that holds only a single watch. It seems like all single watch boxes are winders, but I just want a box. I think T provides this with his custom offerings, so they're definitely out there. I just can't seem to figure out where! If anyone has any leads, I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance! Chief
  10. I like the 3717 bracelet a lot, but also have a Di-Modell Chronissimo that I've never fitted to the watch. I'm concerned that if I ever manage to actually get the bracelet off, I'd never get it back on.... It's VERY tight. Check out these pics of the Di-Modell: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry495611
  11. On the 28.8k 7750 -> ETA 7750 The Zigmeister has a method of fitting the (larger) hands to the (smaller) ETA posts. When you go in the opposite direction (smaller holes -> larger posts) then you can broach. It depends on the capabilities of the watch smith.
  12. Great looking watch there, and a nice trio too!! I'd love to hear your description of the AR on mineral vs sapphire. I don't feel as though I can accurately describe the difference myself. FYI, triplehd, we can always coat mineral crystals but the results are not quite the same as on sapphire. And, as someone else mentioned, I really have no means of prepping a previously-coated mineral crystal without ruining it.
  13. It's a fine 3717 rep. Looks just like mine before I modded it to death. That AR isn't strong... it's just very blue. The dial is very good and the case and bracelet are top notch. The minimal mods would be a set of ETA day/date wheels. For best results, relume the dial + hands and fix the 12,3,6,9 markers (FYI subdial hands on the gen are *NOT* lumed), and redo the AR. Overall, a great watch. I practically wear mine daily now.
  14. Don't you mean "the ones The Zigmeister has serviced, and the ones The Zigmeister will service" ? Stephane, glad you got your SD back. It doesn't seem as though it took too long after the initial mistake was rectified, and you received a perfectly regulated Rolex back in the end. Now all you have to do is enjoy it!
  15. Simply gorgeous. I must have one!!!
  16. It' probably a sapphire crystal and undamaged. I say probably because I have seen a couple mineral crystals come in lately, but I really don't know what types of watches they've come from....
  17. The AR on the cyclops is indeed doing what we had hoped it would. Woo hoo!!! And the The Zigmeister workmanship is of course fantastic. Congrats!
  18. Thanks for the pics! That diamond encrusted SA is something else!! The Ultimate SA doesn't look half bad either, though.
  19. BTW, Spoooonz, if it's not obvious I'm joking around to make a point... A lot of people love what the AR does for a watch. It really makes the dial pop. And other people would rather not have a coating that can scratch on their crystal... especially gen owners of dive/sports watches (who actually use them for diving, etc), like the Planet Ocean. They'll sometimes go as far as to remove the Omega AR coating from the exterior surface. It just depends on the person. The idea itself isn't stupid. And personally, after first utilizing this new AR coat, I've found it a little painful to wear my uncoated watches. It just makes the watch IMO.
  20. I'll throw in a little salsa from time to time with my eggs too... And, yea, always tobasco with either one!! Never had a Maui onion, though. That sounds tasty!!
  21. I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs. I like to wear an undershirt under a T-shirt. I like double AR on my sapphire watch crystals. "Stupid"? Don't know. Don't care.
  22. So the Breitling font is printed directly to the date wheel, and not on an overlay that is attached to the DW?
  23. It sort of sounds like what happens when the stem isn't inserted properly. Did you release the stem and try to insert it again? When inserting on the 2892, don't press the release button. Otherwise, yea, maybe keyless works.
  24. Yea, and this is also presents a problem for redoing the AR. Don't those tabs at 12:00 3:00 6:00 and 9:00 overhang the crystal? I'm pretty sure the bezel must be removed to pop the crystal.
