  1. Well Jewelers Tools has responded and offered to send me ALL his 6mm crowns to choose from. He has also already refunded me, so if any of the 6mm crowns in his collection fit my DJ, then I'll repay him and send the rest back.... Gotta say, that's pretty impressive service if he does follow through!
  2. Now THAT is a wrist shot!
  3. It sounds like you had a great trip, D! Thanks for the interesting and amusing report!!
  4. Yea, as mentioned, it's about contrast. My Panny plasma has a very good AR of some sort on its glossy screen because reflections are rarely an issue, and there is a window behind it!

  6. Please do post the Monday results!!
  7. That's a very nice sub case. You chose a good one as the base for your mods.
  8. Do you know how the depressed company is being valued in the acquisition? Is it well above the current <$1/share level? I mean are you sure it's going to skyrocket? Either way, I wouldn't get anywhere near this one.
  9. I do the same.... except for the "enters rotation with gens" part, since I don't have any gens anymore. One of the managers I report to was drooling over my 3717 yesterday. He's got a TT Datejust that is clearly gen.
  10. Well, I'll take a shot (in the dark)... Assuming those spring bar holes are original, then I'd guess it's an old CN cased sub that was around 5-6 years ago. But it does look to have been drilled for gen spring bars. The bracelet is newer, and it's quite good. Maybe a WM9 bracelet - if it's a rep bracelet. Nice SELs - better than the Noob.
  11. Yea, this guy isn't responding to emails now. However he has already left me a positive feedback, so I *could* ding him with a negative without worry of retaliation. But if he refunds me, I'll let it go. If not, well, it wasn't an expensive loss.
  12. Thanks, J3. So I definitely need the 603 and since the post on this one measures about 2.11 I can be certain that I don't have a 603. *sigh*
  13. OK, the outer diameter of the thicker part of the neck on this 6mm crown is 2.11 mm
  14. OK, thanks again, Stilty... I've already contacted the seller. Anyhow, just to clarify: will a 24-603-0 fit EITHER the old version or the new version tube? Or are there 24-603-0 variants (5.3mm vs 6mm) for each tube? And if so, how does one differentiate? Or do I need a crown with a different part number altogether? LOL, still confused.
  15. Well I do believe this isn't the first time Joshua has used this "it'll get better" line. I seem to remember a comparison between a watch movement and a car engine where the idea was "it needs to be broken in". Return this *broken*, essentially DOA watch. Then buy one from Angus or Precious Time, etc. My $0.02
  16. Yea, same pic!!! Must be the same seller. Argh! I will have to send it back, then. PS - Yea the other parts have arrived... You should be seeing yours arrive any day too! Thanks, T!
  17. It'll get better? Only if The Zigmeister fixes it. It's a shame to see Josh's customer service has gotten this bad.
  18. So I'm working on a project here, and am confused. A 16200 case tube (acquired as a set along with the gen case) and a 24-603-0 crown ought to be compatible. However the crown simply does not want to push through the tube. I suppose if the O-ring inside the tube were removed, then it'd fit. But with it in place, it's a no go. Has anyone ever had this problem? I guess there are two possibilities: (1) the crown isn't the right part. It was shown in a 24-603-0 package on EBay, but was sold loose in non-descript packaging. (2) The crown tube isn't genuine. The case/tube/crystal were purchased as a set from roling on Ebay, who is known to have a very good reputation. *sigh* Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
  19. Necessary? No. Addicting? Yes!

Wow this one sure does look fantastic.
  22. LOL - I'll have to drop her an email and tease her about that one (this is the first time I'm seeing this thread)... Along similar lines though, I posted a pic of someone's watch - I don't remember whose - in the pics thread and he PMed me saying "Well, that particular shot was actually without the crystal." Hehe... I can't tell the difference anymore. And of course, I replaced that pic with another where there actually was a crystal installed.
  23. That's the tool I'd like to try on my 3717 bracelet! I think it'd do the trick.
