  1. ...one of many reasons I never sell things on EBay.
  2. Ignoring the bribe, I don't think it's reasonable to give neutral feedback to the seller because of this issue. If he's willing to give you $5 to recind the feedback, he's probably willing to accept a return and issue a refund. And it would seem better to praise him for his customer service in a review with positive feedback, while also stating that the product is subpar. And besides, the problem could be with your phone and not with his adapter.
  3. How well does the lume glow in the dark, Ubi?
  4. I say if you don't want it, I'll gladly take it off your hands. Gen IMO.
  5. Oh, yes, the good ole days!!! Classic. Yes! I had forgotten about that!! Where was that again? Was it linked to from TRC?
  6. I've never seen a balance wheel without spokes.... on any ETA.
  7. That's a very nice job. What material did you blast it with?
  8. SD4k that Oris is a beast! I love it! As for me, I've got a new favorite in my watch box. I gave some wrist time to the Ingy over the weekend, but have stuck with this guy all week. Can you blame me?
  9. Wow I'm really out of it.... (post editted)
  10. I think sssurfer has already responded, but I'll just reiterate. His was done with double AR. The gen is going to always be single AR. Single AR will look very different.
  11. He had his reasons. But I did tell him that if push came to shove that I'd spill the beans... I only did a limited number for him and once they're gone, they're gone. We could always do more (hasn't been discussed), but people ought not think they can get that quality straight from the factory.
  12. You don't need that Bergeon lifter at all for what you're doing. And you don't need to spend $100 on a press. I spent less than half of that. And, believe me, I am a big advocate of not skimping on tools, but this press (the one in Pug's pic) just works and works well.
  13. I'll let you in on a little "secret"..... The AR on this one is courtesy of chieftang.
  14. Lanikai get one with nylon or delrin dies, not aluminum like shown above. I don't like the idea of reinstalling AR coated crystals with metal dies. Question for those with the screw type presses (I have the exact same lever press Pugwash shows): Does the upper die spin as you screw downward? @sssurfer : No problem removing crystals with a lever press. I do it regularly.
  15. Well take a look at the pics sssurfer posted of his with my AR and see what you think. My AR does have a blue/purple tint especially in florescent light, but it's not overpowering at all. Here are a couple of sssurfer's pics:
  16. I just stripped a DSN Fiddy crystal of its AR, and yes it was super easy. I'd even guess that soap and water on a rag would have taken it off.
  17. A real beauty and not one you see all over the place (a good thing) ! ! Enjoy!
  18. Could be. But, whatever. The point being pictures are a very bad method of evaluating the look and feel of AR. Most people who have gone through my runs would probably agree.
  19. You also have to be really careful with pics. There could be something blue in the room that you are seeing in the reflection! Just keep in mind at all times that single AR is very, very subtle and generally nothing like the pic above. However, I suppose it is possible that due to the large dome on the Fiddy, certain reflections could look like that due to the AR - I've just never seen it like that in person.
  20. I recall that some of the older 16610 MBWs had this.
  21. Yea, that's uncool. I learned a while ago that the only feasible way to do projects for others is to take payment up front. Since doing this, everyone has been happy. Given your stellar reputation, nobody should have a problem paying you in advance.
  22. Today (Friday): Saturday: The Ingy to the left in the above pic. Sunday: Anyone's guess.
  23. Heh, yes of course!! Back in the day accuracy took a back seat to delivery of product!!
  24. For anyone who has been around long enough to know the name, this will be amusing..... ReplicaLord. Back then TRC was the only game in town (we're talking pre RWG1 days), and ReplicaCenter was a scam site that provided phony ratings for replica websites that were all owned by them. Well I sorted through most of the nonsense and gave "the Lord" a shot. I actually talked to this legend on the phone and recall that he was probably from Crooklyn and had a very thick "accent". Anyhow, I did receive a watch (back then the talk was about whether or not you'd actually receive something after ordering)... I think it was a Datejust or Day Date, and it was about as bad as you can possibly imagine. I was a bit ahead of my time back then I stuck an ETA 2824 in it, but could never get the overlays to line up quite right and it didn't really matter because the whole thing looked like crap anyhow. I do still have the watch, and will never give it up. Shortly after that I purchased another rep from the much maligned Natalie, and it turned out to be a great piece which I also still have - a 1:1 (before its time) Cartier Roadster. A great rep, actually. It only needs an accurate date wheel to be nearly perfect. But now that the XL versions are out and pretty much all you find, I'm not sure I could find a DW for this one even if I wanted to. Anyhow, from there I went on to purchase several other reps from Natalie, all of which were sold or traded to guys like Star on the old TRC. Good times. In fact, I think Star still remembers my old nick from those days and some of the inciting of TTK I used to do for kicks. This of course is strictly the first time buying a "high quality" rep and doesn't count the many street corner reps purchased starting in probably high school...
