Good deal. There have been many reports of success with dremel and polish of various sorts... Lacquer thinner and 2/0 steel wool has worked for me. I think The Zigmeister has used high grit sandpaper with success also.
And, yes, don't try this on a glass crystal.
It's a combination of the member base, and those NOT a part of the RWG member base that make it successful.
More of the regular users need to do the right thing and support the forum through VIP memberships, however. I would say that once you've hit the 100 post count, it's your time to step up. Look at T's hit count and bandwidth numbers. Coupled with the fact that not just any run of the mill ISP will have us, it has got to be clear that operation costs are high.
For the most part, they simply aren't trying to produce accurate date wheels. The movements they slap into these watches already have date wheels. The time required to customize off the shelf movements isn't really worth their while.
Hmmm.... I have only seen dials secured to the movement two ways: With set screws through the side of the movement that you simply loosen. With glue, that you simply pry off with a razor blade or case back knife... Got a pic of these dial clamps ?
Here's mine. The recipe is as follows:
- Original TW Best with centered lug holes (circa 2002)
- Genuine Rolex bezel insert
- Genuine Rolex crown and tube
- Genuine Tudor hands
- Noobmariner dial with genuine super luminova
- Noobmariner date overlay
- Noobmariner bracelet and case-back
- Case work
- Genuine Rolex spring bars
This dial leaves a bit to be desired IMO. The honeycomb texture is too subdued, the trapezoidal date window too exagerated, the font a bit off, the 12, 3, 6, 9 markers too thin, and the color too white... But the VCO rep is still a nice watch.
Yep, it's difficult for me to believe that you've got sapphire there. You could always send it in for AR. The glass crystals stick out like a sore thumb after AR coating!
Ah yes, April 12th, 2007.... MSNBC fired Imus, charges were dropped in the Duke lacrosse rape case, and Kurt Vonnegut died. But the REAL reason for 1205 log ins........ You guessed it: Frank Stallone.
It's a chronograph. You use it to measure elapsed time. Top right button to start the stopwatch, top right button to stop. Bottom right to reset. Let it run long enough and the subdials will indicate elapsed minutes and hours.
