  1. So what.... They've started making special edition Daytonas for the Care Bears? FUGLY!
  2. I've lived in the Middle East for about 19 years of my life. Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Dubai. This really depends where you are traveling in the ME. If you are going to Gulf countries, in other words, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait, there will be a LOT of rich people there who will have super expensive watches, so if you sport a Panerai or a Rollie Rep, it should be totally okay. You may get some glances, you are most likely to run into someone knowing more about watches than someone in the rest of the ME. Most of these rich folks will be too busy admiring their own $100,000 Patek Phillip. And since these countries are rather affluent, you needn't worry about anyone giving you any odd looks because you are wearing a PAM or Rollie. They probably won't bother you. Other ME countries, well sadly, but truthfully, the majority of people there can't afford luxury watches, nor are there many shops that sell luxury watches. For example in Cairo, the only places you will really get luxury watches are at international hotels or at the airport. So most people probably won't know the difference between a Flik Flak or a Rolex. However the Souk, Khan El-Khalili does have guys walking around carrying 20 to 30 reps for sale. However they are ABSOLUTE crap. About one and a half years ago, I was in Cairo visiting my parents when they were still living there and I had gone to the Souk with a friend to grab a shisha when this rep seller came along and tried to sell me his cheap knock offs, he did notice my modded Sub and was like, "Oh you have real real Rolex sir, I give you all my watch for your watch..." I smiled... and said no thank you... Now if they had all been Noobmariners, maybe I'd have considered it! Because my Sub is quite outdated in comparison to Noobmariners. This is not saying the ME people are all ignorant, no no, but its safe to say that the majority will not care or bother to look twice at your wrist. Unless you are dealing with real watch aficionados and there are surely enough of those around wherever you go to. Anyways have a nice trip to the ME and hope the culture shock doesn't hit you too hard! Regards, VW
  3. Hmm worked fine before... In fact I can't find this specific winder anymore. Haha looks like the scam got lifted before we could figure it out!
  4. Charging 40 to 60 dollars for an entire DVD season of a show is theft in my opinion!
  5. So I posted the link here.... Pretty much no one is auctioning for these items. So all I would have to pay for this watchwinder is 1,50 euros and the 20 euros shipping. That sounds like a good deal, however since its ebay.. I'm always a little scared that I will get scammed somehow... http://cgi.ebay.at/LUXUS-UHRENBEWEGER-IN-W...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. Never seen that show, but heard of it... I need a satellite to receive channels from Germany... Can't be bothered to watch TV when I've got a speedy internet connection!
  7. Ok my bad... in that case BIA.... Break in Action
  8. Yes, Kelster has confronted me as well about a watchsmith, I'd go for him as Palpatine is currently MIA and RepAustria no longer does mods for others. However, I haven't read much about moddings regarding Navigater or Tourby...
  9. Yep, just as the title says!!! I'm excited as hell.... I somehow swore to myself I'd never order a rep again as all these flaws were just what killed it for me financially and psychologically, but here we gooooo again... SOOOOOO I'll be looking for someone really soon to pimp up my watch.... ahem haha... I'll post pictures as soon as I get the PO! Regards, VW
  10. I must take your side on that Offshore.. The UN FREAK sends shivers down my spine... I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT!! Maybe I'll put it on my Christmas list to Santa this year! haha
  11. A shame that the movement which comes with the HBB is a piece of ****! I don't trust the A7750! No chrono reps for me... MY TWO CENTS, BIZATCH! Regards, VW
  12. I'll buy a gen first and then let you all know how I feel! Regards, VW
  13. AHHHH, a corrupt law enforcement official!! AHHHHHHHHH!!! Just playing man! You know we love you UB7!!
  14. Vbarret, that is very fascinating...but with a watch like THAT, I'd not be surprised that it got passed around so much. Seems like everyone wanted to get rid of it. Even the original... I don't know... But ahem.. no...The copper didn't make a pass at me in the shower... we passed each other in the parking lot, but yes, nice try. I like women... but who's to know if he does... right... anyways... I'd be curious to know how many law enforcement officials, famous people, government representatives actually are wearing reps. It would be really interesting to know, but whether we will ever find out.. Highly doubtful. It'd be funny to find out if anti-corruption officers, officials trying to breakdown black market syndicates actually wear reps. Hypocrisy at its highest. However, just because they are fighting for a so-called "right cause," doesn't mean they can afford the real thing, so they may be wearing reps like many of us do. Benefit of a doubt to a cop, come on dear...just because he is a cop, doesn't mean he will take a bullet for anyone... In fact, I highly doubt they would, even though it is their responsibility in some cases.... Especially not this cop! I don't think he'd want to take his Range Rover to an ongoing street battle versus crime. Otherwise his Rover will be leaking quite a lot! Anyways... I love these stories!!! Regards, VW PS. I'm having difficulties getting this quoting thing to work... I'll figure it out in time..
  15. Comedians... well I'm not being serious because I think this watch is fugly.... My 2 cents... Regards, VW
  16. Soooo, the other day I was at the gym. Doing my weekly training. Yep we gotta keep fit! Besides, I've currently got nothing better to do than RWG and gym, while I'm looking for jobs. So I had quite a good day at the gym. I went to the changing room, showered, got changed and headed out to the parking lot of the gym to go to my car. From the entrance I noticed a beautiful Range Rover Sport had just parked and a semi-muscular guy had gotten and out and started walking towards the gym entrance. He looked scary to me, either way I headed directly to the Range Rover Sport. This is one of my favorite cars, I love this piece of art. It was even in British Racing Green. That dark green color. Ohh, I just got goosebumps. The car was parked with its back to the wall, so I realized that behind the windshield, on the driver's side was a card which said "Kriminalpolizei" These guys are the cops not in uniform, detectives, inspectors, the guys who solve the crimes. Not your everyday average typical traffic police. That card is used to put by the windshield when you are on duty downtown where parking requires special parking tickets. However these guys get to park for free when on duty and these cards allow them too. I'm sure the also abuse their privileges, but anyhow. I could safely assume that he was a well to do cop with a car like that. I took a look at the back and realized it was the petrol version. 4,2 Liter V8-supercharged 390 HP. The most expensive one in fact, roughly 85,000 euros for this behemoth, excluding any extras of course. I just LOVE this car... I decided to check out the interior and was just amazed with all the wood and leather interior. Then i noticed something. I was in absolute SHOCK... In the cup holder, I realized was a Breitling. I was like wow, this guy really has got the bucks. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know if I could spot a fake. I knew it was a Breitling for Bentley. In fact the Bentley GT also in British Racing Green on the dial. As this is one of the only Breitlings that I like. I still had a hard time spotting whether it was fake or not. With a car like that, this guy MUST be rich enough to afford the real watch. However then something occurred to me. Why the hell was the seconds sub dial ticking like a quartz?!?!? Thats when I realized it was a fake; from my knowledge this watch isn't produced with a quartz movement at all. BIG BIG shock.. I started to doubt the Range Rover. Must have been some cheap chinese knock off as well! So that was my wonderful story for the day.... I hope I live long enough to witness something like this again! Makes me even more scared to be in the rep scene, as we may have cops who REALLY know what they are dealing with in the replica world... Maybe cops will come over, who'll then confiscate my two outdated watches and wear them for themselves? You never know.... Haha Regards, VW
  17. Actually, your eyes require about 30 to 45 minutes to get used to the dark. So lets say if in the middle of daylight you went into a closed room with the absolute minimum on light, (coming from the cracks of the door, underneath the door, keyhole, no window) you'd be able to see or navigate just fine after 30 to 45 minutes. So your eyes adjust and become more sensitive. I think the human eye is an amazing thing, unfortunately I wear specs cause I was silly enough to mess with them by sitting in front of the TV all day long when I was young. (Luckily, I wear very weak glasses.) The lume's awesome, because when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. I usually have both my watches on my nighttable and they 'may' not be as bright as when you put them under a strong source of light directly, but damn, I tell you, for my eyes, they are quite bright and I can clearly see the second hands ticking away on the Sub or PAM 183. Let someone walk into my room coming from a lighted area and s/he won't be able to notice the lume on your watch at all, or just barely and this is a couple hours after the initial light bombardment to your watch! A few hours after having it charged, when I get under the bed covers and put the watch close to the cover, it even reflects off on to the covers, like a freaking flashlight! Torch would be a better word for it in my opinion! Anyways, just my addition to the comments already made! Regards, VW
  18. "why when I stare at my watch, the seconds hand momentarily just stops and then goes again?" This one is kind of freaky.. happens all the time.
  19. With three reps on hand... does it really matter? heh
  20. Besides, if you look REALLY close under the 6 o'clock position, it says that its made by the Swiss! haha Regards, VW
  21. UB7, mocking my family are we? What a disgrace!!! I personally don't like pumpkin anything, nor do I celebrate Halloween, but I loved the pic of the vomiting pumpkin... Regards, VW
  22. @Shakey Excuse the language... You lucky BASTARD! I'm desperately trying to get an internship or better yet a job in East Asia... No luck so far... got any contacts?! haha.. Regards, VW
  23. Haha, what one will do for his watch! Indeed an original story! I think your dad is not alone when it comes to such acts!
