I started out having absolutely no interest in watches whatsoever; in fact I hated wearing anything around my wrists, it annoyed me that much. When I was 17, I was gifted a Swatch Irony Chronos from my uncle, which I wore 3 or 4 times I think, after which it was lying in a box for about 4 years. Four years after having received the Swatch, the interest for watches arrived at my doorstep with a big bang. I remember, ever since my rich bastard friend got a used Rolex Daytona from his dad for his graduation, i fell in love with that watch. Ever since I've been buying watch magazines, been an RWG member of the old and the new, have bought 3 reps, two of which I find perfect enough for the time-being. In the mean time, I've lost interest in the Daytona, but my interest for gens still lingers and when I can afford to buy a gen, I will. Like a few of you have already said, a gen will always be a gen. And I am avidly waiting to afford the Tag Heuer Monaco Chrono... However I do agree with most, when you say that you would not necessarily buy a gen that can easily by replicated. After all, a Rolex will always be an imitation of itself. Regards, Viennawatch

What?! Damn you need to be sued!! Haha.. Playing... sure mate, RWG is like the Borg collective, we are many, but we are all one, united by one cause... What is mine on RWG is yours too. Only my watches are mine and I don't even have too many of them either, haha

GMT II Pictoriala Gen and a Rep side by side!
Viennawatch replied to elprimerozen's topic in The Rolex Area
I admit its damn beautiful, but there definitely still is a lot of work to be done on the GMT, especially the dial and the crown! -
It truly is beautiful, but I do have to agree with the aversion to the name. I find watches named after cars somewhat... uhmm I don't know... Same reason why I would never drive a Smart. (Partly produced by Swatch). Or why I would never want a Porsche Design watch.... Although it does look good, thats a given.

All the best! And congratulations. I hope your child will be as big of a watch enthusiast as you!
-
Great and does it come with an 8 day movement as it is supposed to? No... the replica masters haven't mastered that yet. TWP, the watch looks damn awesome though!
-
Darn.. i actually REALLY like this watch...actually is there any possibility you could get a replica of your replica so that I may have one myself... hahaha...
-
Haha nice try though, but its not Bully. I dont know who it is, but sure as hell it ain't Bully.

Well...I can't help you with your problem. I assume you live in Singapore if you are asking this question. Singapore is in the top 10 countries when it comes to total imports of Swiss watches. Singaporeans seem to be big watch aficionados, so I would just be very careful with your reps when walking around Sincere, Precious Time, Cortina or other watch shops. I'm sure you never intended on getting your reps serviced there anyways, haha... Anyways, you'd know better living in Singapore! Best of luck anyways! Sincerely, Viennawatch

Haha. I love this forum... We go so deep into a subject that it makes one forgot a world beyond RWG exists... Memories from the olden golden days! And yes, panerai does look sexy on a woman, but not a Breitling... I don't know, but there is something more feminine about Panerais to begin with.

I like it man!! Looks great!

You do have a point...

@Maikel Thanks man, thats some really good news! I hope he settles in just fine! @docblackrock Hey, hows it going? How's the addiction been treating you? I must luckily say that I never went beyond 3 watches, but... I feel that 'itch' coming back... haha... Ya I've been MIA as well, really trying to get my life sorted out, where I actually want to work, live, etc... I'm not happy with being here in Austria... Although I just came back from an Internship in Delhi, India and i have to say although it was interesting, I would not want to live there in the future... :/ @Stephane I'm glad to know that the new RWG has got a few considerate and intelligent guys like you roaming the board. Makes me as a newb to the new RWG feel safe. I mean after all who knows what has changed since the last RWG forum! And your feelings about there being numerous scammers on the net as well as on RWG is correct. I even remember there being this really big scammer that ripped numerous people of with all sorts of things on RWG and Ebay. It was a real big thing. Its a shame I forgot the name of the guy because that would have started a really nice topic. This guy supposedly moved from place to place. His real name and address were down and some members even thought of paying the guy a little visit and reporting him to the cops, but then again, when we're dealing with replica items, its not easy to get law enforcement involved. Anyways, I appreciate your comments about Palpatine, but as a loyal customer to his modding services, I have to say that Palp in no way is a scammer. In fact I had once paid him for some modding on my PAM 183 and it came back looking amazing except for the fact that the movement stopped every 30 to 40 min. I sent it back and he fixed for free. A few weeks after I sent it back to him for more luming and he did it for free again. Even now that we found out about his situation, I've always trusted him. Like we just found out, he had his reasons for not answering us and not sending back numerous people's orders. Thats the problem with being in the replica business, as its not really something you can live by and depend on, if life changes, so do your replica habits, even if it displeases numerous people. Once he is settled down, he will surely send everyone back their stuff!

Hmm maybe he got married and is on his honeymoon? :unsure:Anyways, I have none of my watches with him, just need to get some things done... I hope all of you guys get your watches/equipment back soon!
-
I guess no one has a clue?
-
I've been on the look out for our dear Palpatine... Unfortunately I have no been able to reach him in any manner... Would anyone have an idea where he might be or if he will be back to aid us soon? Perhaps does anyone know of someone within the EU that takes care of modding and servicing? Would be great help! Regards, Martin

Richard, Just the kind of reply I was looking for! Thanks...

Hey Cornerstone... believe or know? haha... I really need to be 100% sure.. Well I guess you can never be a 100% sure, but at least 99.99%...
-
I've always sent my watches to Palp for modding, I've never had any problems with him. He is very trustable. I think he may just be very busy for now. I think he'll get back to you guys.

Man, I've not been on this forum for such a long time. Things changed considerably fast. Anyways, I have decided to purchase another rep. Not a 100% which one, but I have a feeling its going to be a Panerai. I'm about to make the jump to Dubai for work and I was wondering if anyone has tried ordering a rep to there? Any problems with customs and so forth. Tried giving the good old search option a try, but without avail. Would be really helpful if someone could help me out on this one! I've come across numerous rep sellers in Dubai itself, but the watches I've seen for sale are absolutely horrible. Anyways hope to hear from you guys! Greets, Viennawatch

Well other than trying to contact NEIL (TTK) personally. You can tell your friend to go to MBK (A mall), on the second or third floor, can't remember which, but there are these stands, that sell a lot of fake or stolen cosmetics and then you will come up to a couple of glass stands selling watches right next to the cosmetics stands. I think 3 or 4 stands in total sell watches. The watches they have on display or under the table are naturally crappy. But on one of the tables, there is a guy working there called Na. Don't try and pronounce this name with an American accent, they might not understand you. Don't pronounce it like "NA"sty, but like "NA"rcotics. Anyways, if he is there or not another employee who might know him; ask him and he can get you some decent PAMS. I didn't buy any personally when I was there as I was low on cash and I will be going back soon enough so i will buy some the next time. When I asked him to show me the PAM 183 and the PAM 111. He pulled out two pieces of crap with automatic movements. SO I was like what the f...., the PAM 183 and PAM 111 with Automatic movements. I immediately told him, I want something more like the original. I motioned to him that it has a hand wind movement. As English doesn't seem to be a strength of most of the employees there, I had to do a lot of hand movements. Anyways the guy asked for my phone number and said he would call again in an hour or two. He did, I came down and the watches he brought from some UNKNOWN location were of the same quality that we get from some of our dealers here. So when he found out I wasn't really buying them, he was kind of disappointed, but offered to sell me each watch for 6000 to 6500 Baht. I can't quite remember the exact amount, but thats about 120 to 130 Euros per watch. Quite a decent price and as I'm a seasoned member of the old RWG and come here and read quite a lot, (rarely post these days) I was quite sure of their quality and would recommend anyone in Bangkok having the chance to go to MBK to at least check it out for themselves! Hope this is a helpful tip... Good luck Best regards, Viennawatch

Hey Pugwash, that first picture is somewhat of a biased representation of Bangkok. IF you want to properly represent Bangkok try putting up more pics of the actually city. Bangkok is not only shacks. No offense, I'm just a little of a Thailand addict, haha. Try getting up some pics of Siam Square. MBK, Paragon, Discovery mall, etc... Some Sukhumvit Road pics. Ok maybe you dont any. Anyways, for those who haven't been to Thailand, Bangkok does have a lot of places that look like the first picture, but a lot of more modern parts to it too.

Iwc Group Buy, El Closes The Gap.....!
Viennawatch replied to Richard Tracy's topic in General Discussion
Sure its possible to have things replaced by the geniuses. And not to try and kill the business for them, but I think it would be a whole lot cheaper for EVERYONE involved if the dealers were convinced to get certain obvious things fixed to make it look better and then pay the same price of 160 to 200 bucks than pay that already with the mistakes and then having it sent for mods which costs another 10 to 20 for shipping and another 50 to 100 or more for modding... I dont know people... I'm going to wait until this baby is at least 95% perfect!
