  1. Kostas, it was a few months ago. I remembered the cost is around USD$23K if I am not mistaken. It supposedly comes in the original rolex movement and the positioning of the dial is the exact manner as Adeeos'. I stumbled upon the auction when viewing some vintage IWCs watches. Tried to find the seller but to no avail. He has a distinct page on ebay. Will let u know if I find it.
  2. Adeeos he is. I love this watch. Very nicely done. Have seen a watch with the same rolex dial up for sale on ebay by a german watch seller.
  3. Alligators & Croc straps are very tricky. Among the vast diverse collections I have seen so far, only a handful of them caught my eye. Most of them have this typical low quality appearance at first glance, some look like plastic straps and others, simply too fake to pull off as a croc or alligator (even though it is claimed to be a genuine croc/ alligator strap). These straps IMO must possess that 'wow' factor in it and these straps with the 'wow' factor is a rarity. I have managed to pick a fabulous one up last week and fits nicely on my 187. I discovered a maker that has a similar hide. Just placed a custom order from the strapmaker which will take about 2-3weeks. Will post pics soon. I cant wait for it to arrive.
  4. PAM187 with Strapmasters Tobacco Croc Strap. Arguable one of the best large-grain croc strap I have ever come across. Missed out on my chance when I first saw it in Singapore. Now managed to snag one up but this time round a 27mm width tucked in nicely on a 26mm lug width. Looks awesome on the 187. Pics does not do justice. Will attempt to post better pics tml.
  5. Looks like a huge watch. Congrats and wear it in good health!!
  6. Very nice!!! I see that the font on the movement is much thinner now. Looks brilliant! Wear it well.
  7. swdivad = anthracite [censored].
  8. First of all seraphe, congrats!! This is a wicked watch to own. I suggest you email Davidsen and tell him yr problem. He will sort u out in no time. About the accuracy. One big flaw I notice in Davidsen's watches is the case. If you are anal enough, u will notice that the case bordering the glass has little or no 'plateau' whereas in gens and other reps (from other factories) have that plateau on the case. It may seem negligible but it was especially apparent (to me) on white faced pams (207A). It kinda bordered me. And the fonts. You guys already know that. Davidsen has done a GREAT job on this. Not slamming by any means. Keep it up!!
  9. Awesome Gil!! Makes me wanna make a purchase from EL and mod it with davidsen's AR glass.
  10. According to the 2006 special edition catalog, the dial is indeed blue. The caseback looks very accurate as well. This is a very well done rep. Esp with the date mag. I am floored by the quality of it.
  11. Correct my eyes if I am wrong, the genuine northpole gmt dial is dark blue, not black. http://www.paneristi.com/images/SIHH2006/DSC00569.JPG http://www.paneristi.com/images/SIHH2006/DSC00570.JPG
  12. The date mag is impressive. I am all over this one even the dial colour is wrong. Well done on the date mag!! I am impressed!!!
  13. swdiavd's 89 and the watch24seven (very reputable seller)'s 88 are gens. From what I can see, the reps have the same 'L Swiss Made L' as the gens - at least according to Joshua's website. If I were to pinpoint flaws btwn rep and gen, the date mag would be the most obvious flaw.
  14. PAM127 & 217 never did it for me but 203 is something else. The colour of the dial, the lack of any wordings above the 6, and the Angelus movement did it for me. The price, however, is insane (I can only predict that the pricing for Panerai will only get worse). I would rather invest on a IWC Perpetual Calendar than this piece with that kind of money. But nevertheless, it is one of the better looking PAMs around. How could one forget the politics behind the selection of buyers for this watch.... too messy. In some ways, the drama turned me further away from this brand - I shouldnt have let this get in the way about how I feel for the brand but it did. I agree you cant please every Panerai fan with only 150 of these around but I kinda expected someone from the HQ to speak out about this when this issue was brought up ..... I might probe around and possibly ruffle some feathers in the upcoming Panerai event in Nov...
