  1. If it's really broken (hard to see on pics) You will probably have to order part N
  2. i was told the seller is a rg menber. Buyer dunno. quite a crazy price imho. I was ready to pay a lot, but that was over my limit. Of course somone that has the fund ready, may have an other apreciation, it is a very rare and nice movement, ready to use. If it had the correct arm, spring for the rachet, and therefor was the exact movment used on vintage or 203, i would have been ready to pay those 5k
  3. those 2 sites are scam site. If you were not charged, that's good. check you visa bill, and if they ever charge you do a complaint to your bank to rollback the transaction.
  4. yes i was surprised too. I was very close to pull the trigger, but i did not, as for the ebay link, because as there is short supply, it becomming very hard to get a dial & date disk for a rep. I dont tink they are produced anymore. If i had the chance to get a 196 dial for 7753, i would then jump on any movement (i have the case allready)
  5. Yes that's the trouble with ebay. Specially with 7750 claming to be swiss. but for 7753, you have to check if date change via pusher at 10 oclock (like in my link), that usually is good clue on whether it's a 7753 or not. If there is no pics of that, let it pass by ..
  6. Well this s a gen, and the finish is gorgeous. Panerai has now taken it's figer out it's but, and can offer manufacture caliber... And not 5k€ watch based on common ETA. The PAM case design as always be unique, and in this aspect always been very attractive, just the pricing didnt matched the engine. So they were cleaver enough to start making very interesting caliber. I had not yet seen macro shot of little detail like this, and it's really looking good Thanks for the shoots silverspeed they are very well done.
  7. well one was sold in tools & part section this week ... your best bet is now ebay somthing like this : 7753 they pop up quite often, but not always advertized as 7753 ... hope you can get one soon...
  8. Whaow handsome job. And very interesting thechnique. I had thaught of that for changing font on a date disk (p196 7753 brob), but never even imagined it would be so cool for a dial. After luming it does look like if was a normal dial.
  9. hummm the Lazenby chronograph Very nice aging on that dial CharlieUK Imho the lume dot are a little bit too yellowish, but that may be just picture The rest is perfect including what i think is a water mark near 150/170 marker, wich give "life" to the thing.
  10. yes, the PAM 196 old case is one. or the old mbw 1665 with working HEV I guess you can find many other example Some old reps where better in an aspect or an other than the current one. So they keep very good pricing when sold. But that just until a new super reps fix the flaws of the current genration. so i don't think you can see this as a real increase like in gen.
  11. i wouldnt mind adding the cabestan to those 2
  12. Actually i was referring for the 1575 price (with date) But yes the runing price for a 1575 with gmt his around 1600$ - 2000$ That's why the 1655 is a problem. I would definitively like to clear out the process of going from 1575 to 1575 gmt. I posted a thread about this. But i have not exactly sorted out what part are needed, and where to get a supply source for everything (i can get some but not all). But if you ask phong or yuki they will do it for you, so they have access to those. Probablly any AD can just place an order at rolex ? and they have connection ... But next week i will be puting a gen dial on my 1675 franken and also works on a new 1575 for a 1665 i will have both movement for working at the same time. I will do shitload of picture & mesurement, so i should sort out what extra part are needed.
  13. Well nothing revolutionary, i think dw is just going to compete with the viet case. for 400$ that a nice package. But as i said, it depend on the quality, and that as yet to bee seen. When i say definitively not 1:1 i was speaking of the daytona dial, i have yet to see a 1:1 rep daytona dial. And honestly i dont even expect the case to be 1:1 neither, nothing is 1:1 exept a gen. I have Dw case, phong case, ndt case, none of them are plain 1:1. I just expect from them to be as close as possible. and acept all gen parts. The comming of a new actor on that market, is somthing that i think deserve to be noticed. Yuki has allready contributed to cut off the ridiculous phong/ndt price. The more competiton the best, price can only go lower. And DW is willing to have a public price of 400$ And yes this is for a 15xx project. But you can still cut the dial feet, and mount a 2824 as you would do with any case set. I bet david will produce a eta dial & hand later, same way he has variation for his daytona... But imho no needs for such case set, if you dont have a gen mvmt. A 1570 is to be found for 500-600
  14. this is not just a stem wind This is a non alarm ! Allready mounted on a dial, and all the problem that may arise in doing such a project are allready cleared. It is puiblicly exposed as a "angelus sf 240 for panerai" on the bay. So it will not atract only watch geek, that know what to look for, but olso may rich panaresti kind of guy, that are just [censored] off they couldn't buy that 203 because they were to low on the waiting list at there AD. Still crazy price, i was expecting around 3k
  15. Little update fromd David. the case set will be 5512/1680/1655. The public price will be 400$ this will include: case caseback dial (with feet for 15xx) tube crown hands glass David insisted it was going to be great quality, comparable to daytona case. For those who played with his daytona case, you know that yes they are great quality, but not an "esay fit" process. He did not whanted to send me picture, as he just has prototype, withouth any engraving at all. The final production will be ready around october. If they are good, it's an overall very good package. To build a perect franken crown & glass should be changed with genuine. Dial ...dunno, for daytona it's hard to find better than his, a part from genuine, or olmost impossible to find high end redial. But they are definitively not 1:1 So, we'll see.
  16. Looks good Did you assemble it, or is it a service provided by Yuki ?
  17. pfffff..... this is so depresive .... 4j20h and allready 2800
  18. Whaow that's impressive. And yes i like them all, very good choice. One day you will have to show them all, and tell us what's gen. I have understood you have at least one of the holy grail vintage around.... You should get the ploprof one day, the old one of course, that's what is missing there then
  19. How ironic. since this is a rep in the first place. Is protecting ou intellectual property, really one of the goal for this project ? It seams from the various imput, that this is going toward "the most known luxury diver watch in the market". Honestly if this was just to produce an accurate case of a contemporary model of this particuliar watch, the whole project wouldnt have much interest to me. I'll rather not go with the most know, commonplace and reped watch in the world. I am not exluding that brand but this particulliar model.(i'll take "the most known chronograph of the market" anytime). Of course this is just my 0.2$, and the project has to satisfy at least 200 people Toward the whole watch or case question. I would go for case only... I suspect for a whole watch project, somthing, somwhere is not going to meet the 1:1 case standard. This would ruin the concept of 1:1, without mods and having to source extra or gen parts anyway... And as i allready said what kind of movement will be the target ? Are we trying to do a decently priced base set for a nice franken, for around 200 menber, and so competing with ndt/phong & the like Or trying to do a more perfect accessible base replica Both way are interesting. For me i would rather have somthing that can work with the same base caliber, it push the concept of 1:1 further.
  20. @mir36 I just paypaled yesterday, so i dont expect them befor 1 or 2 weeks. I think 2 weeks is nothing to be woried about, the shipping cost was just 10$ for 2 movement, so i guess it can't be priority mail. @The Zigmeister Good to know that you have some spare parts for those. they are "supposed" to have just been serviced. But now i am shure that if somthing is wrong, this wont be a problem as you can do your magic on them
  21. It seams DW is also a new competitor, still with limited offer, but he has extended his line ... Probablly much more expensive than a rwg project, but way less then NDT/phong roberry
  22. Dunno if anybody has really noticed but DW as extended his case set offer !!! he now has 1680 & 1655, that is case, dial & hands. Maybe it's old news and it's just me that missed that ? I have not spoke to him about it, so i can not comment on the quality or price. But i hope it will be up to it's quality standard, that is, comparable to his daytona case set. I know he did buy a gen 1655 case, that he later sold, and i suspect it was the base of one of the project. So i am quite curious about this new player in the high quality game for anything else than a daytona, as he usually sell at 1/4 the phong/ndt price stuff of the same quality. Any body has some first hand info on those case set ??
  23. it seams to me that it's much more easy to swap the dial than to do a redial. Doing a redial needs a lot of talent and expertise. Swapping is just sourcing a dial for that movement, and then a mater of having the rigth tool It may not be the easyest thing to do if you never done it, but there is plenty of tutorial on the forum... just my 0.2$
  24. That would be very intersting. I am shure that most type of case that are suceptible to interess menber here, can be folowed by a little group of expert. I see no interess in doing a very exotic type of watch, that nobody has ever posseded. And the project has to focus on somthing we can put an affordable motor in. And if possible the exact same base caliber. I dont sea the point for a 1:1 case if the engine spec (position of stem, subdial spacing etc...) is going to be a problem. So it live us with movement that can be found genuine, or same base caliber under some amount of money. So the pricing of the movement is an other issue. Will people ask form somthing based on cheap ETA (28xx). Or can we go up to thing to be found in second hand low priced genuine. Personaly i wouldn't mind go for the second option and go with xxx base caliber, that can be sourced for let's say around 1k$. So a part for ther cost of the case set, we have to chose right away the overall taget cost of the whole "homage" watch.
  25. i dont have this particuliar watch, so i can't say exactly. But what is shure, is that you can swim with almost any rolex rep out there... they all have screwed case, screwed down crown with at least 1 o-ring, and thight crystal fit. Some reps are actually even quite good for diving ( i mean 10 <-> 100m ), but that really depdends on the model and is no to be taken as granted. Now you need advice from somone that has tested the particular model you whant ...
