hey this Noctilumina looks good !! So you tried it ? Does it really glow longer then Superluminova ? and how strong is the glow .. For what i see i looks very close in the way to apply/use it. that would be good news, specially as ordering from RCTritec is fastidious as you have to go by bank wire ... and it's very costly. the seller on the bay olso says they have a new line of extra-fine grain. And until 30 juin an extra free botlle of your color choice, with each color kit bought, all that at 29.95 USD it's allmost too good to be true.

apparently the only new thing is a the deco on the rotor .. pointless ... who is going to brag about the asian 7750 in there Daytona pffff... I doubt wee will get a second at 6 movement soon, if they made a native 7753 design that would be a good strat ... and much more usable in many other reps. JLC's have seconds at 6 too tough, but it's certainly not draining enough market for the rep industry.

I think all is good as i have now recived my watch too and was the last missing. So finally no harm there ... Just a little worry due to TNT false promise about delivery time and tracking ... but at the end it does get thrue . Anyway your care and trust was much apreciated Febus.

I am certainly not a gen "collector". But since 3 years that i discovered RWG1 my interest in watch has grown so much. First with a few reps, then in TZ watch course & plaing around with reps/no values gens. That i started to really whant to get a nice gen (a part from my old rolex 1500 i have since long). When my grand mother died i recived an unexpected (and unwanted for shure) extra money. So instead of burning the cash in a LCD TV or usual mass consumation goods i whanted to get somthing that i would keep all my life and that would be a memory. I finally made it a month ago with a JLC Compressor chrono. And i plan to try to save enough to get a gen each year from now .. prolly not in the JLC kind, because i would certainly not have enough cash, but thing like previously owned omega speddy/smp maybe even an affordable PAM, but olso low priced antique watch. (some very nice omega from 1930 can be get for as low as 200$) In the meantime i will still collect nice reps, because i really got caught by the bug ..

Rolex The "medical Chronograph" Ref 3525
vlaletom replied to klingsor's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Those watch are beautiful. And as you said the V23 are widly avaulable and still on a decent budget. I olso think there is a nice little market for a good case & dial kit, i would jump in! Maybe if we are enough to ask for it, some of our trusted dealers could produce a batch. Some of our dealer did make custom watch for us in the past, if we are over 50 piece wouldn't it be possible to have some produced ? -
I wouldn' recomand it I think the C version is more thicker due tu the extra day-date function, it migth be possible to remove the extra function, i don't know for shure, but that taking a risc to get into problems.

Thks fro the info smack, that gives me a good place to ask in case i have no sucess in finding it from scotchwatch.com.

Okey back to works ! Got to my toolshop today, now i am reday to adjust those pusher Thanks again for the info, it was very helpfull. I mailed Blacke Scott , case clamp screw are on there way, now i just have to be patient. You know,i have done extensive search on the web about "valjoux and stem" but it aperas that RWG is finnally the best place i know to get information about watch in general, not just reps.
-
O thks for the answare. That explain me prety much everything about the pusher problems. It's in your post that i found the info about the tap 10 sem so can i just mail Blake Scott, ttred29@earthlink.net ? does he sell on ebay or have a site ? Regarding the case clamp , as i just bought the movement without a watch case, i was laking some proper ones. I cuted 2 longer one i had, so it fit correctly, but i am still missing proper screw .. i think i'll just buy a large set of various screw, has it seams i am always missing the one i just need.. Now i can get further, i'll do the pusher works tomorow !

Hi I am in the process of building my first V7 project. Got a very nice longine V72, that is getting fited into DW v72 case kit. The dial and hands parts were rather straight forward. But i'm having more problems with the casing. Actually i have 2 main problem: The first one is the stem, the longine one was 1.1 (or maybe 1.2 mm), in searching in the forun i founded out that i do need a tap 10 stem (0.9 mm). So my first question is where can i found a V72 tap 10 stem, i have searched usual eshop (ofrei, borel, cousinsuk) and could not find a stem listed for the V72. Can i try to use generic tap 10 stem ? Or is it possible to go with an extension ? it seams tricky as the stem in the 6263 case as to be quite short. My second problems are the pusher. If i screw them fully, they constantly press the lever, not allowing enough space for the lever to reset properly. How do you guys dealed with this ? did you have to cut or lime off the pin in them to make it a little shorter ? or am i missing somthing ? Last question is what tool is the best to screw the pusher, if i do it by hands i guess it wont be screwed firmly enough and will unscrew when releasing the locking screw. here is a pic off the ongoing work Any help apreciated thanks

The main reason you can't get a rep as good as a gen as nothing to do with cost of production of the gen. First of all a 300$ watch is a very expensive watch compared to what most people are wearing. I think we tend to forget that with reps because of the imediate comparaison with the gen price. The reason is obvious, rep are illegal, wich means the condition of production can't be up to gen standars You can't get the best engeniers, dedicate a production chain in a factory and let it reach the acceptable level of quality you get with the average product. You don't whant lost in the early stage of product production with lot of prototype, and production adjustement You can't rely on a constant suply of parts from chosen suplier ... You can't rely on constant distributor. You don't expect to build any long term image of your brand on the consumers market, and have no needs for durability in your product And after all those production constraint you still deal with people that are buying illegals good and therfore can't expect much than what they are ofered, and can't expect long term waranty. This a bit an exagerated "dark painting" but it's more or less the reality

Turns Out The Germans Have The Best Sub...
vlaletom replied to lionsandtigers's topic in General Discussion
I am septical, i doubt the chines will perfectly rep the plutonium engine, they allready got such problem with radium or tritium. Maybe The Zigmeister or palp can upgrade the nuks head though ...But the engine will be the give away it wont have a full year power reserve. -
You got me there ! No actualy when i say bret i mostly think of the modern ones. While diging on ebay in search of V72 movement i have come across very nice vintages bret, that i could easyly see on my wrist
-
IMHO the topic is not irelevent. Shure it don't aply to reps we buy, but after all we buy reps because we are fans of the gen. For me the opinion i have of the gen brand certanly takes a good part in my rep choice. I don't like bretling as a brand for example and would never consider buying a bret rep regardless of it's acuracy. So does the "in house" thing influance my opinon on gen brand, i'd say YES ! It's not the only thing that matter to me but it has an influance, as the brand history and contribution to the whole wacth history. I for example love PAN for there look regardeless of the movement. But love JLC for being a true manufacture during it whole history, and still "resonably" priced compared to Patek or Lange Regarding lange the fact that it's a reborn compagny in 1994, founeded with Richmont money over a famous historical but dead name, lower it a bit when compared to patek regardless of there incredibly praised movement and quality ... Rolex is appeling to me for there contribution in modern wrist watch evolution (automatic/water proof/screwed down crown ...) And the reason for my interest for particuliar compagny could go on and on .. But the "in house thing" is one of them. Unfortunately there is very few chance i ever buy a "haute horlogerie" watch anyway, unless i win the lotery. But if i was to spend around 5-7k€ on a wacth i would rather have it powered by a JLC movement then an ETA. Perception is relative ... and sometime silly ..

Looking at that seller item he also sel a 1655 case & dial for 999$ wich i found cheap for a gen and expensive for a rep case + a rep or redial. DW told me in an email that the 6263 case kit found on the bay are "his product" so apparently he was allredy selling some thrue som other people.

Dunno But it's weird, since i have changed ISP a month ago i cannot acces rwi anymore. It just time out ... like there was no route to there ... Anybody has the same problem ?
