Right on freddy...Thanks for clarifying it makes more sense now...You're TT DJ is nothing short of spectacular! You still have that beauty?
-
Cool! Always nice to hear the good experiences! Wow i cant believe USPS called you to make sure your home - i've never heard of them doing anything like that before - Post pics when you get that TT!
-
Rosnik - sorry to hear that - i've ordered 2 from cubics (1 for me and 1 for watchbuff) both came in a little over a week - very happy with it too - Fonts are a little big but still looks great IMO p.s. the pic they have on their website displays open 6/9's but the actual DW they are shipping has closed 6/9's

This franken will be planted on my wrist for the upcoming weeks...Absolutely in love with this watch(thanks watchbuff!):

Where can I get a replacement pearl for my bezel?
UB7 replied to jj69's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I think www.watchmaterial.com has replacement pearls - not 100% certain tho -
I mean I understand the way it works, freddy - And I do agree with pretty much everything you said ....But for some reason I dont buy all of what offrei said - How does tourneu for example, or ANY AD for that matter stock these crowns?? And not just crowns but it would appear that this applies to all rolex parts...They must supply them to some retailer's and distributors - Mabye their more selective in who they distribute their products too, but I dont buy the fact that he said they stopped all together...If this were the case crowns/parts/watches would be insanely expensive, which they are not (at least for now) - Mabye this is an indication that prices are about to skyrocket?

My new franken, finally complete and the stem is working great !!!

Heres a very interesting reply that I got from offrei in regards to the 6mm crowns: Rolex no longer supplies them to distributors, this is not legal but they have the money to fight in courts forever this battle and only hope is US groverment and they were able to buy off the US Justice department run by Bush and we do not have chance. Under Clinton control they looked at problem but said it was a watch worn by the rich and said they had or fights to fight. Now Bush's guys were quick to take the money Rolex was offering so that they woulld not impose USA laws on Rolex. So is the Bush economy responsible for this?

This happens with my BCE all the time...If its not fully wound the chrono will stop...I should probbably get it oiled

Defacto - your car sounds violently fast jesus!! Watchbuff - The e46 is my dream car, and now that the new m3's are coming out hopefully they will drop in price and I will finnaly get 1! And god damn, seca blue is my favorite color too! You should have sold it to me you lucky bastard im jelous..But than again everyone in Long Island drives BMW's/Lexus/Audi/Cadilac's..Some kid in my old dorm @ hofstra drove his dads purple lambo to class - These kinds of things happen all the time in strong island...Thinking about getting a CTS-V if i cant find a decent priced e46 - has the corvette z06 engine in it...400hp...Test drove 1 and it hauled ass
-
This version has double AR if im not mistaken...Very nice abat!!! Wear it in good health
-
Love that 6 series and that alpina (is that what it is?)..I have an 95' M3 coupe and it has 80k miles on it and still runs great! Heres a pic - it looks way better when clean - Has 240hp stock, intake and exhaust add about 15hp - slapped some 330ci rims on it - also has limited slip diff, and its a 5speed - everytime I drive this baby it puts a big smile on my face :-) (except when theres snow on the ground than its helpless..damn rear wheel drive...thats what the acura mdx is for...also not that great in the snow but does the trick)

I would fray away from getting this "waterproofed" - theres virtually nothing a dealer can do to make a watch more waterproof regardless of what they might advertise..How ever it might not be that bad of an idea , if you want piece of mind that the watch your getting has been QC'd than I guess its worth it...But waterproofing is a scam - my 2cents

My 2 tone daytona turns heads, along with my BCE...
-
Heres some new shots...White horse = amigo, tan/white = magic
-
never leave home with out it!

Heh, thanks for the opinion.I agree the clasp looks real but how can you really tell if the band is or isnt gen? It would appear that theres no real way of knowing unless this seller decides to tell me the truth, i'm crossing my fingers...Would like to hear what other people think before I make payment..I messaged seller and asked him if it was 100% gen and waiting for a response
-
Very nice italiano, i'd love to do this to my BCE with black hands...Were did you pick up the silver hands?
-
Found this on eBay and just bought-it-now - want to confirm that this is genuine before I make the payment...Looks good only reason i question it is because its 99$...Too good to be true? Seller has immaculate feedback so i assume this is the real deal and I just lucked out and got an amazing deal! edit: after talking with watchbuff, the dj dials he is selling look iffy - the reason im so confused is because he has such good feedback? i really need a fresh set of eyes for this 1...thanks in advance guys http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=120181355229 item # 120181355229 Thanks guys!

I would say its definitly worth it no matter how you look at it, whether its just collecting or collecting and building - This DJ project was relatively inexpensive to build, even considering the fact that I had to pay watchbuff to do it it was still probbably well under $600 all together- To have a watch that can visually pass as a gen without question is great..Its really a hybrid so to speak - the only non genuine part is the movement and the datewheel (im replacing the band in the next few weeks)...If you dont want to dish out at least 2-3g, I think a franken is a great route to take - I mean unless you pop the caseback this watch is virtually indistinguishable from a gen... In fact I would wear this new franken ahead of my gen with a 3035 movement anyday-however that watch badly needs a complete overhaul..the movement still runs flawlessly but theres a few other problems
-
Nice daytona, especially love the vintage I was thinking about getting 1..I thought i was nuts for owning 3, seeing that pic makes me feel a little less crazy - i personally think daytonas are 1 of the coolest watches ever made but thats just my opinion, if they werent so ridiculously overpriced I would consider buying a gen.. Anyways, back to the DJ i sent it out this morning overnight so watchbuff should get it tommorow before 12pm...along with my submariner which hes going to fix the aftermarket insert and give the crystal a better profile and mod the CG's..he might drill lug holes but im not counting on that as much as the other 2 mods..will post pics again when i get the DJ back which will be next monday or tuesday at the latest
-
Very nice fredy, love the linen dial
-
This was my inspiration.. this was my fathers..1987 is engraved on the caseback
-
Thx guys! @Porsche...That is the same exact analysis watchbuff gave me - its the movement thats causing the problems. I'm going to order a bunch of stems just incase..Other than that the watch is great~ I forgot to mention that this jubilee band is one of the most comfy rolex bands ive ever worn, it really molds to your wrist i love it..
-
Everything on here is gen, except the bracelet which is an aftermarket jubilee. And the datewheel is a cubic-works - Movement is a ETA 2824-2 .. What do you guys think? Wrist shot Franken vs. Gen
