  1. Indeed hit and miss. Have had a lot of these with seconds @ 12 with the new jeweled movement. I also know some local resellers that stopped selling them, because they could not offer 6 months warranty on these ones. The extra gears make extra drag on the movement. It takes more power to let the gear train run. The A7750 often are dirty or under/over oiled. Makes it run less good. So also with the extra gears, there you have it: most experience shorter powerreserve, some less than 8-10 hours. Servicing the movement will solve most of these problems. But that takes an investment of around 200usd. I figure, someone who can pay 500usd for a rep, should take the service cost into serious consideration. If you want to keep the watch for years, I'd say: service it from day 1.
  2. Good to finally see something like this. Thanks Ken.
  3. Also, a watch has always sentimental value. Having a watch on my wrist of which I know it was broken out of someones safe, would never make me proud to wear. Indeed better sell it then.
  4. I hope your 'friend' is not a member here on rwg, seeing how you flipped it for maybe nearly twice the money if i understood from your post that you just sold it.
  5. for someone who is importing illegal goods, selling illegal goods, not paying taxes, not paying import duties it does not seem to smart to have a facebook account with his own name there. Doesn't sound like the smartest thing to do...
  6. Well Dutchy, you might have some good dealings with this guy now, but how trusted dealers proof themselfves is with warranty and aftersale service. Most of these guys like for instance Zander have almost no warranty and almost zero after sale service and repair facilities. The only added value they have is no customs risks in the EU. As I have been a reseller myself for many years, one of the issues with reps are the parts when a watch is broken. Most times it is cheapest and best because of the parts to send them back to the dealer. Also I see there are some AP seconds @ 12 on the table there. Most very good resellers I knew even stopped selling these models, because they could not offer 6-12 months warranty on those models, because they had too many issues with powerreserve.... Just saying... Even there is a lot of demand for those models by certain people, some of us just stopped selling them. Same as we stopped selling seconds @ 6 models earlier as well. So for me being a former reseller, I would advice our members to stick with trusted dealers and not do too much business with resellers who have not proven themselves....
  7. Same goes for the seconds @ 12 modified ones, like the AP models. Also have more chance to have problems. But with those a service overhaul will help. With the seconds @ 6 models a service overhaul won't help.
  8. Hi, the A7750 with seconds @ 6 movements have known reliability issues. Normally with these movements the seconds is at 9. But now they made a train of extra gears to put the seconds at 6. This will create lots of drag on the movement and also create more dirt, because some gears are turning not on jewels, but on metal. So it results in low power reserve and grinding movements, which won't run. To real solution for this. Most of these movements will have a problem within 1 year.
  9. The hot glue fix is to use a electric glue gun, Put glue in the lever hole. Let it cool down. Put the lever back into the cg. Put the pin on top. Use a glue guns tip to heat the pin and slowly push it in place. It makes the lever be less loose. The glue method makes it sometimes a bit messy and sometimes leaves glue residu on the cg/lever. This is a better method btw: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=91320 It is on repgeek, hope it is allowed to post. sorry admin if it is not
  10. Yep, bought a old school pam243 from W once, gave me a free pam kevlar dive strap too. Great guy indeed!!
  11. If you want to be a guinea pig for trying... Nothing really is clear right now on shipping to the EU..
  12. I just would not want to bring in too much, not more than three total. One on the wrist, two (worn) ones in the suitcase. Here in The Netherlands, they allow a maximum of three replica items (dvd/cd/glasses/watches) etc to be imported when you go through customs at the Airport. Even if it is still illegal. They allow max. 3. Don't know about Italy, but if they were expensive frankens, I would not take too much risk by bringing 3 frankens. Just my 2 cents...
  13. Some years ago a parcek arrived within 23 hours, from China to my doorstep in The Netherlands. It was with DHL.
  14. But that case set still looks way too round instead of being more square... Hope Noob factory will one day make the 249. Just producing the dial wasn't enough on this one, too many other details on this watch to make it gen-like, imo...
  15. Great watches! Arent't you guys afraid that the investment and value of these great franken pieces will be a lot less when the first new PO's are coming from the factory later this year, with maybe the same quality as current Panerais from Noob factory?
  16. What PhilFree said. This is not a normal tracking status for UK shipments. Your parcel is seized. Best to inform your dealer. He will say to wait it out. Sometimes they let it pass or evey just charge you the VAT import duties, but that only if you are lucky. If they do their job now right, it means you will loose the parcel... Which courier was used? EMS/DHL/Fedex? Best of luck!
  17. 50 euro for servicing an 7750 movement is very cheap. Almost I think too cheap, comparing what watch smiths around the world charge for it. Here in The Netherlands it goes from 175 euro tot 225 euro. So how come he can do it for 25% of that price I wonder....
  18. Hey fellow '07! Member Wengsy is from Philippines. Just received a very very nice strap from him last week. On my wrist as I write this.
  19. No one is able to, since there is not any good copy of this model.... There are other models, but not Breitling. And they are very expensive. http://puretime.co/product/br-03-type-aviation-ss-black-dial/
  20. How about the 'feel' of the movement? Have had this one and it feels a lot different than the 2836 clone or swiss movements. In date and time setting, but also the winding mechism feels cheap on the wrist and makes more noise imo.
  21. those crystals always tend to break more easily on these models. The old 212 always did and also heard about the new ones. And there is no xtal replacement possible.... And yes it is just mineral, no thick sapphire. It is not a super rep at all. Just superlumed.
  22. so does he have experience in serviceing A7750 movements?
  23. No, I don't know the site and you also don't want to know it. Scam site, they use pictures of the genuine watches... so not ok. That is also the reason here on rwg we have trusted sellers. Those have proven to offer good products for great prices and most important with reps, offer good after sales service. To protect the membership of the forum.... So look around on the forum for the trusted sellers. Enough to choose from and look on their websites, like the one I gave the link of, to see what the product offering is.
