@ Double T: isn't it something to think about putting your post in a sort of 'sticky' part in the trading zone? As I see here in this thread, most members who write something here are long time members or vip/platinum, who most likely will not get scammed as easily as newer members with less knowledge about reps. Just my 2 cents..

It is a Gunny Mona strap. I like it too, but maybe a bit thick, could be 1 mm thinner imo.. http://gunnystraps.blogspot.com/

Wow -expensive TAG replicas - Good or Bad?

Your question has been discussed for over en over on this forum. It all depends what you want from a watch. If you want to have a perfect working movement, then service is your choice. If you replace the movement, you still will have a movement which is dirty and not proper oiled and regulated.
-
Adam, with the Asian 7750 it is important that the watch repair guy has experience in servicing these Asian 7750. You might want to ask if they even have experience with the 7750 before you hand the goods over. And besides, the dealers just sell, they don't service a watch. good luck.
-
So what kind of model do you think you want to use it for? Vintage or contemporary or something else?
-
Hi, who is Mary? you need to go for the better version with AR on the mineral crystal. no sapphire is available on the pam253 so far. ATB, Hooky PS. Welcome to the forum. Panerai is a great brand to start with. Actually, the PAM253 was also my first rep ever.

And the funny thing is that there is a very high change that from a a technical point of view the Swiss ETA 7750 needs a full service overhaul, because big chance those are older stock movements. Fyi, after around 5-7 years in stock all oils are dried out inside the movement. used or not used, does not matter... So I would rather service the Asian 7750, which then will have a similar quality and reliability as the Swiss ETA version, and for a lot less money.. Just my 2 cents. -
If I were you I would notify the seller already that you want to return the watch upon arrival, because they used intentional misleading sales information. Of course they knew it was mineral...
-
where did you get the wisdom that it is a low beat version? Lately some movements that went through my hands from different brands, I had several A7750 with working regulator and being 28.8k., confirmed by my TYMC Timegrapher.

Deniz, why take the risk for just getting what you want in time... You wrote that PT even offered you to send you pics.. I remember that you live in Deutchland.. And they have quite tight customs. PT is in the EU, and is a very good dealer with good service. I have bought a couple of hundred (yes) watches and the last 15 I bought came from him, since I was totally fed up with the customs problems and risks here, also live in EU. Customs is a real risk. About your question about the SS bracelet of the Skyland. No it is not junk, but the feel, look, finish, screws, of the SS bracelet of the Seawolf is just a lot better. I have had several Seawolfs go through my hands, same as lots of Skylands and Super Avengers and other Breitling reps. Seawolf bracelet is the best imo. Also draping of the bracelet around the wrist is better, due to good construction of the screws and the parts of the bracelet.

Mr. Plai, you should spend some time on Repgeek. I got the news from there. And why would they rep the 286? Well.. the dial is totally different and it is a newer model, so people want to buy that much more instead of a 2006 SE model... And the dial is very cool, with the big dots. similar to models like pam156 or pam024.
-
Did you also consider the Avenger Seawolf? more waterproof, looks a bit more mature and robust, better & more reliable movement, better build. And it has the best ever steel bracelet I have yet seen on any other Breitling rep, and believe me, I have seen a hell of a lot. cheers, J.

I have heard that German customs can be pretty strict sometimes... Maybe other German members can chime in..

Yes and how about the other new models coming out, like the PAM286? It could be that that version will have sapphire and that it might fit the pam253/212 cases?? Does Torobravo have news on that?
-
Did you email the seller, Paulo already? sometimes he has parts for the 616...

The hobby is in the hunt for parts, projects, creating grails. Stating that you need to resist yourself from starting other projects Kye: says it all.

You should never ever use the chrono push button in water. The pressure extended on the chrono pusher when pressed it, will be much higher than 5-10 bar and the chance you will press water in is very high.
-
any watch smith can do it. The only thing which is difficult is replacing rubber o rings for the pusher. but like I wrote earlier, you cannot make is so much more waterproof then it already is. On some watches it can (f.i. a panerai making the lever more tight to the crown). chronograph reps will ALWAYS, i repeat ALWAYS be less waterproof then reps with screwn down case back (Hublot does not have screw down back), screw down crown. And always test it. and remember 5ATM/Bar is not sufficient for swimming and jumping in water.

What should I be paying to get my 112 re-lumed?
hooky replied to polo147ax's topic in The Panerai Area
I only trust Zig and Vac with my relume work. And all my watches are relumed. -
Nice build and nice case back. But.. what is wrong with your cg lever? It seems it won't close properly. If that is the case, you should grind/trim the end of the lever with touches the crown a bit, bit by bit, so that later it will snap nicely in and the lever is in par with the cg it self. Good luck.
-
well, I don't think you can make it a lot more waterproof then it is standard. what you can do is lubricate a very little bit, the rubber o ring in the case back. don't put too much on, just a bit to make the rubber o ring shiny. second is that you can lube the rubber o ring on the crown. for that you need to remove the crown from the movement. again, just a little bit grease. very little bit. you never want it to be able ending up in the movement. the hardest thing is to waterproof the chrono pushers. so therefore is it better NOT TO SWIM with it. for waterproofing the chrono pushers they need to be removed from within the case, lubing and/or replacing the tiny o rings. And at last, but certainly not the least: Always have your rep tested in a professional waterproofing machine by a a jeweler or watch smith if you intend to go swim with it. Then you know how much pressure it can really take. rep watches are not very quality like build, so 95 out of 100 watches might be very good waterproof and 5 may not. Therefore test it!!!

@ Z3ko, I remember that I saw a post of Zigmeister fabricating a customized cg pin. You could consider sending him the CG if he is willing to do that kind of job again... reg, Hooky
