  1. Angus Ultimate 111E relumed review: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=36425 Little Hero 111I review First one costs $500ish on the 2nd hand market with lume. Second costs $1350 now new from dealer. The stock ones are all fairly incorrect. Though there is strong rumors that a new dial is coming out from the Hublot factory, big step up, but still some small flaws. Your best bet is Sead or DSN. Search the forum, lots of comments on those, they run around $400++.
  2. Should be an LH 111I. At least the dial is. deniz: Thanks red: please please please, if you do anything to do that watch, at least change the crown *pretty please*
  3. which is my favorite, which is my favorite....hmmm, have had a couple more not shown, 082, 112,240,243, 183, 217, 127. Honestly, it's probably the 111E Not because it's wholly accurate but because I got it during a very difficult time of my life, and it cheered me up greatly. It was the most money I'd spent on a rep (then), looked great and always made me smile when I saw it and remembered how/why I got it. Was a little sad to sell it, but have to move on.
  4. Not sure if the above is correct. This is a gen 177G As you can see, it's a sausage dial with "E" series engravings on the movement. To my knowledge, there is no 44mm Ti sandwich dial model with "E" series movement. So essentially you'll have to make compromises. Must it be 44mm and in Ti? If not, then a 47 SS Fiddy or 217 or in 44mm a 111E. If it must be Ti & 44, must it be sandwich dial? Then a 177G Must it be display back and sammie dial? If not, then a relatively accurate DSN 040 would suffice.
  5. Here's the thread on RG http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=91522 And differences between the sneegee, LH and gen
  6. Truly beauties. the 2 A240s are lovely
  7. Bruce would be for gen Ti deployments. Never seen any rep ones but could be wrong
  8. Great, he replied and more have confirmed Confirmed list so far; 1) unregistered 2) burnz 3) coolfire 4) siesta181 5) burrrp 6) parryl 7) takashi alvinado 9) hysteriakx 10) shaugn Tentative; 1) samurai jack 2) kye_lin 3) seraphe
  9. First 005 dial pic, though numerals was nice, the logo was wrong. Arrow was pointing to middle of E, when it should point closer to the end. The sammie dial was all wrong too, though the sausage dial was very nice. Thick numerals etc. Perfect for a fatty 001B build after a relume.
  10. Certainly have. But I aint sure all the normal Singaporean guys have seen it. If you know anyone, could you pass it on?
  11. So guys, can we set it for the 27th night, 7ish at Red Dot Brewhouse in Dempsey? Confirmed list so far; 1) unregistered 2) burnz 3) coolfire 4) siesta181 5) burrrp Tentative; 1) samurai jack 2) kye_lin 3) seraphe
  12. That CG is very nice. And how is the sheen of the bracelet? Been thinking of getting one to add to my Titanium 040 and was wondering if the color difference would be too stark
  13. You really really want to know? Yours Gen You got the first thing correct, the engraved OFFICINE PANERAI The other thing wrong is the balance wheel area; 1) Balance wheel spokes are straight and not flared 2) Shock system is the older novadiac shock instead of the newer incabloc 3) Wrong cutout, or better phrase would be, no cutout because of incorrect shock system. Gen has a Y cutout 4) Needle regulator instead of dagger 5) Main gear's teeth in the centre are overly large, indicating this is the older/slower 6497-1 movement beating at 17k/bph 6) Each of the jewels does not sit in a countersunk hole with polished edges 7) Blued screws are painted, gen blued screws only have the tips blue, the base of the groove still shows bare steel. Edges of the main winding barrels are not polished enough, can still see a brushed surface Other than that, its a lovely movement for that finish of the main plates
  14. Ultimate, super duper, best of the best? Only Little Hero 111I. $1350 Asian movement, but accurate dial (O still a tell), better AR, perfect CG (thicker than gen), accurate crown, lovely movement, but still obvious engraved plates. You pay for what you get. As for the other dealers, they are all about the same, using the same parts. You'll have to relume them all (except for DSN depending), you'll need to change the CG for all, the crown for some. The dials are ALL, every last single one of them incorrect and major tells. Movements are blatantly incorrect with horrible engraving. Not that much difference between Swiss and asian in terms of reliability, the asian movements have proven themselves over time to be real workhorses, plus they beat at 21600vph, accurate for the OPX/XI movements, whereas the swiss are based on the 6497-1 movements with asian plates that beat at 17700vph. Hope that helps. Why not instead, talk to DSN, get his new 001A ? Gorgeous dial, decently accurate, decent caseset, accurate crownguard, sorta, need to change the crown and it's a close caseback so no one can ever call you out on the movement.
  15. Sorry to hear about your predicament. Sead has generally come through in the past so this is a real pity. Just some comments on the above; 1. That looks more like scratches in the AR. Sapphire shouldn't scratch in that manner unless you threw it in a bag full of ceramic chunks. It looks like it'll need to be recoated or a new crystal put in 2. Badly put in crystal, watch smith can fix that in a jiffy, or yourself even, some DIY tutorials on this 3. This happens. It is not so much a flaw as luck of the draw depending on the length used for the CG Pin. I've had a few like this before 4. Not sure what you mean about downside? Downside of the CG? Not sitting flush with the case? Again, its a thing with reps, you won't get the QC associated with gens. You may need to refinish it yourself 5. Refinishing it yourself is not a large matter and better as well. What's more important is that the base shape and size is correct, and a Seadbo CG gets you 90% there 6. Not good obviously, but you'll end up with a few of these yourself over time 7. Don't get the holograms comments. Halo effect within the crystal? As per 1, could be a badly applied AR run. I'm not trying to defend Sead here, so don't get me wrong, I think he should fix the legitimate issues of the scratched AR and badly put in crystal. The rest of the issues you point out though, to me, are part and parcel of playing with reps. You will never ever get something 100% close to gen, there will always be flaws (well unless you're willing to spend a lot of money as shown in the Cartier Santos100 thread). So even though you "think" your $400 should have bought you something perfect, it won't. Neither will $1200, neither will $2000. Only when you go gen can you be happy in that way, yet, gens have their issues too .
  16. Nice PAM, and I'll agree thats the closest Cotes De Geneve engraving I've ever seen on a rep Asian movement. Pity everything else about that movement is wrong.
  17. Depends on the environment. In doors with some normal down lights on medium, the crystal looks almost invisible for a 112J that I held at a watch meet. Outdoors in full sunlight, obvious blue sheen can be seen, but nothing as bad as say LH's AR. That said, between models it changes. 177H I've seen very strong purple hue (some pics over at RG), 104J in hand purple and 25H in hand purple under flouresant lighting 127 can't help.
  18. Ok. 27th? And suggestions floating around is Dempsey (Red Dot Breweries?)?
  19. Well guys, I'm proposing the 28th of January (Thursday), location, please do suggest, no idea where
  20. Yeah I bought a crystal press for that very reason to do a swap out.
  21. Guys, think its time for a Singapore GTG to take place Which other Singapore based brothers would like to join in? Was a quiet affair the last time round I went for one on RG, but will try promoting this on the other 2 forums as well. Any suggestions on where and when to hold it? I suggest in two weeks time, end of January so we can get enough people to see the thread and then find a place to meet. So what do you all say?
  22. Panasonic LX3! That said, the one I shoot all my pics with is the IXUS 80IS
  23. I think we all got that email mate Further discussion over at RG from PWC/T4D (dealer) that this is more than likely a rep of exceptional high quality and that such things have been in existance for sometime now, just in very low volumes. And when have the dealers NEVER LIED to us before (Gen swiss 2824s anyone?)
