I don't know anybody really, who wears more than 1 watch per limb...but you can certainly wear 1 watch PER limb. So, if you any have more watches than you have appendages...it means you're a collector to a certain degree because some watches will be at home in the box. For Men, that's >5.

Hi Jim, It looks like you're still embedding the images instead of linking to them. In RWG's Reply or New Post window you get: Click on the insert image button: Copy and paste from Imageshack, Photobucket, or whatever, the direct link to the image in the popup window (allow popups): Or...type the url to the image in directly framing it in the html "" tags: Preview to make sure you get what you want and you should be good to go. If you view the properties of the images you uploaded in this post or the others, you'll notice the url is still to RWG which means the image that it's using is on the RWG database...you want to NOT upload the image to RWG...but link to it to wherever you're hosting the image. Right-click (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) and view the properties of your images vs. mine in this post. You'll notice my image is actually on Photobucket.

The moon watch is beautiful...so is the 50th Anniversary...not the most accurate because of the subdial spacing issue (use the Search function if you want more details) but a great, well built watch with a beautiful movement. Ruby has a good reputation...and is well thought of overall on this board with many satisfied customers. AS to care, yes, it is a manual wind watch. Do some search on movement maintenance...mostly relating to the A7750 (automatic not yours...but the advice is similar) and you will find: [ Wind it as much as you want. It's not fully wound until you can't wind it anymore. You can't overwind the watch...but if you feel resistance...STOP Don't expect it to be water resistant for swimming. You may get lucky...but don't dunk it unless you've had it pressure tested Mechanical movements can be left unmaintained, but like a car, without proper maintenance, it will breakdown and be costly to fix Maintenance generally means full servicing every 5 years With proper maintenance, there is no reason the watch shouldn't last a lifetime Where to service is an issue. Call around for watchmakers who will work on reps...don't go to an AD. Welcome aboard...and take some pics and post your experiences.

On the end of some pithwood if you have it...or just put on some finger cots available from a pharmacy and use your fingers.

...and I also believe the V1 hands are better. The Chrono seconds is a better colour, and the subdial hands have a better length. Stay tuned...and check back at this forum in about 1.5 weeks and I should have a comprehensive comparison and review of all current versions of the Skyland rep.

I agree with b16a2. The Skylands in general (doesn't matter which version) are notoroious for misaligned lume dots. You will likely be able to send it back if you want, but it's always a risk (I've sent a number of watches back to China with ZERO problems...but it's always a risk)...and often, 1 step forward 2steps back...you will get another watch with a fixed dot at 4...but crappy ones at 2 and 8... If you don't have an existing relationship with your collector (i.e. you haven't bought a number of watches from them...this is your first)...then don't expect them to spend a whole lot of time with you. They will fix big problems...but QC problems of a known issue will have low priority. Remember...if you return back to China...it will cost about $20 for the shipping...and a 2 month delay likely.

Welcome aboard. There is TONNES of information on here about which dealers can safely ship to Europe. Precious Time and Eurotimez I believe can ship from Europe to avoid any issues. Don't rely just on the pics in their galleries or websites. Send them an email directly asking them if they can get a specific watch (send a pic of the one you want), and see if they can get what you need. Most dealers can get what you want...but the 2 mentioned here can ship from Europe.

Hah hah...QC delays are very "common". QC on waiting for arrival of the watch maybe...but Jay has always come through for me in the end. The wobbly crown is common...even with the SMP Chrono. I left mine for awhile...until the crown stripped...and then had The Zigmeister upgrade to a gen tube and crown. You can check out my review of the SMP Chrono for details. Ditto to the masters above. They speak with experience. There are good rep datewheels...and bad ones. Rolex ones generally suck. The Omega SMP Chrono wasn't the greatest. The Slevin and CD are pretty good. I haven't noticed any real difference between them that was so great as to take the time/cost to swap them out. If you were sending the watch out for servicing and can't do it yourself...then it's a nice "add on" upgrade as the relative cost of the wheels and installation with a full movement breakdown is minimal.

As an aside...don't be turned off by reps based on the standard non chrono 21j movement (if they are DG2813 based like the Noobmariner, Asian SFSO, etc). Even though the movement out from China may have it's issues, the fact that the movement can be replaced for $12 + shipping and labour (i.e. cheaper if you do it yourself) means you can save oodles of money NOT buying the real ETA version...even if you have to replace the movement 10 times...and boy, will you get experience and practice!!

Hey Hong, Don't undersell yourself. The fact that: You knew enough to not post too many questions that have been answered 5 times/day You knew about sourcing separate dials, crowns, etc You embarked not on a simple purchase but a substantial mod job Posted some great photos AND...upgraded to Supporter I think means you have already melted in, and know a heckuva lot more than the majority of members here. Remember...a substantial majority lurk and don't contribute (time in posting or money). There really aren't that many regular posters, and even fewer who pony up financial support. You did both. You're in the top tier!!

It depends on the glue used and how the leather is treated. Generally salt water will wear down the leather more. Some leather if not treated properly will swell or lose it's strength and stretch. Some leather straps are ok for getting wet like Di Modell's Imperator line...but generally, salt water is not encouraged. Some people treat their straps and dive in (with silicon, or waterproofing treatments for shoes, etc...but they will often change the colour a bit, and may not smell quite right).

It's in the hands of EMS...usually 7-10 days from when I get the EMS number...depends on Customs, Canada Post, etc...earliest by Monday. As usual...after getting the tracking number from the collector (doesn't matter which one) it takes 3-4 days before anything shows up on the EMS site. Once an entry shows up on EMS...it takes 3-4 days before it arrives in Canada (Vancouver)...and another 2-3 days before it makes it to the other side of Canada where I live.
