  1. Those are great. After all the selection, I really like the grain on the black Croc (or is that gator). The scale of the "bumps" or whatever they are called is great. Classic.
  2. The seconds at 6 Daytonas are bad news. There are also the Seconds at 9 Daytonas which are fine, as well as the vintage Daytonas with the Lemania/Seagull manual wind which are solid. Accuracy on the vintage ones is the issue. Personally, I don't care too much about the vintage accuracy given Rolex has made so many variations to dials, bezels, etc it's really hard to keep track of everything. BTW...thanks for sharing. The Link bands are still referred to as one of the most comfortable around.
  3. Hopefully Bike Mike can fill you in on the AD for the big discount. If you want a rep, read reviews if available in the Other Brands area of the forum. Also, check for dealer sites by using the Links section at the top menu and going to Dealer Websites. You should also view the Watch Collectorssection to view the official dealer areas. Also read the Reviewssection.
  4. I like the designs, and the prospect of working on something small and mechanical that I wouldn't do if I had spent $10,000 on it. I like looking at a $100-$200 piece and thinking that I can take it apart and if it breaks I won't be broken. Can't do that with high end gens, and with quartz movements it's not very interesting. I like the variety of designs. I could buy lots of lower end gens or a few high end gens...but I see more interesting designs in the reps than things like Tissots, or Swiss Army or whatever.
  5. If you have calipers, the hands are diffent sized, but the measuring is microscopic. I've read Zig comment that some movements look to be old slow beat or new high beat...not sure how he tells.
  6. There are a few Zenith reps out. Andrew and Josh have the Defy Extremes and I think a new one is coming soon. Welcome aboard. You found the best watch site around.
  7. Peter (aka Watchstation) can get it (he's got a section here).
  8. Don't apologize for a long post...and welcome to the board. This place will fuel your interests, give you support, a laugh and more reasons to spend money you never had. Glad to have you here.
  9. I ditto TeeJay...Level 3 taste and interest...Level 1 membership.
  10. Welcome aboard. If it's a spring bar for a strap you need, any watch repair booth can get one of those for you. That's better to get local...less hassle. Ordering from China will cost too much money for shipping. As to the allen key, it looks like the bolt is on the caseback...not for the strap...and the strap looks like it needs a flat head screwdriver...not a springbar...so I'm a little confused. For the parts...I would suggest posting in the tools and parts section a request for parts maybe, somebody might have something...pics of what you need would help too.
  11. I'm guessing there are if the date font is wrong and the bezel is the wrong colour...otherwise it's the same factory, and they had the "B" team doing assembly. [EDIT] I was looking at the PWC one and Andrew's and I thought they looked very different on the caseback. Then I realized I was coparing the SS bracelet version of Andrew's with the PWC one. If comparing the PWC one and Andrew's rubber one, they are close. Apparently there is a different caseback between the SS braceoet ones and rubber...at least with Trusty. Different rotor too. The rubber version of both looks more similar: 22k on the rotor Different colour rotor...but the designs look similar Same font and text on the casebacks The datefonts look different though...heavier on Trusty's. I have no idea why the factory is doing this. Doesn't seem cost effective.
  12. Indeed...thanks for letting us take part in the viewing. It's great to see. You have some really amazing pieces there.
  13. I haven't heard back that an order is confirmed...so I might not get it. It's cheap though!! I figure I have 3 watches coming in...I'm in no rush. They had the cheap PVD Milgauss too...but I prefer SS on that one.
  14. I've got lots of options linked in my Skyland review linked in my sig!!
  15. As to spray cheese: As to Baseball: Steak
  16. I don't think he's ignoring you. Check your spam box...it might have been filtered out if you sent him an email...or, you can try posting a simple response in his sale thread saying "Hi...tried sending you a PM X days ago and haven't heard back. Have you received it?" He might not have received it. The new PM system is causing grief to some people I've read. It's harder to see the list of recent messages from people because they are all organized by "conversations" now...so if you have a LOT of conversations, you might have thought a message was responded to. Be patient...and just make new contact. If they are not selling to people they don't know, they will usually say that explicitly in the sales thread. Welcome to the board. We really aren't that "elitist".
  17. The MMD pimple dial has a black background bezel which although technically inaccurate from what I can tell, I actually prefer. It's the same loking bezel as the blue surf line. The date font looks crappier on the $99 model too (too thin). I figure, given that the movement is a cheaper $20 movement rather than a Swi-nese ETA, it warrants the pricing. I'll post a review of course when it arrives.
  18. It does look rougher...but what the heck. We'll see. He claims of course it's the same. Stay tuned. They had Tag Ladies quartz for $49.
