  1. If you don't get a response and you already have the watches with the movements you should just try a screw or two yourself.
  2. Guys- That is BigCrown over here. Just contact him.
  3. aarontanhk@hotmail.com is the last email I have for him.

  4. Does anyone know whether there are any dealers still offering these? I need a couple of them. I am not sure who carries these and if they are still made. thanks in advance
  5. Try a blow dryer at modest heat. It often helps when the leak is through the crown. If the water got in then hot air can get in too. I have done it through the case back as well but you may be risking hurting the movement. And it is free.
  6. As you say, wear it for a while and see if it grows on you. It is the antithesis of a contemporary chrono given that it is a homage to the original mid-20th century 6152's. Makes it sound ancient doesn't it?
  7. I have to say that if the dial, hands, case and case back are DSN I would have to say it is a DSN. Wherever the parts come from it looks great. Wear that one well. I haven't had a base in a long time but I may have to reconsider.
  8. I always knew there was no direct ETA movement swap but never why. Thanks for the info.
  9. If you do decide to sell (or even list) this piece for sale here I would suggest you get ahead of the curve and make a request to any of the admin team to be added to the approved high value sellers list. We will let you know the information which we need to get. Anything over $1500 has to be vetted by the Admin team.
  10. I say rep. I thought he was a member here with the screen name "Long Dong".
  11. Very exciting. I will have to take a look when I get in front of a real computer. But Kudos to all involved for making the effort to come out with an improved line.
  12. Looks great. I do have to second filing down the 5 minute markers on the bezel if it is possible. But it does look great as it is.
  13. I remember hearing this story and a good amount of grumbling months ago. I didn't know it was a member of the rep forums though. Assuming that Elisix is the same person another member both here and at Geeks was kind enough to alert me that there is currently a similar problem with him regarding an $1800 watch disappearing in the mail with no tracking when promised and no restitution forthcoming as of yet to the buyer. Hopefully he will turn up and resolve that one amicably. Please let us know. I don't know how it ever turned out at Risti but if it is confirmed he is abusing members at any of our forums we all should know it. I do hope this is not the case. I wouldn't expect him to respond here as he has not posted here in several months nor has he ever offered items for sale here. Then again it doesn't look like he is a candidate for making the "Approved High Value Seller" list at the moment either.
  14. That about covers it. Otherwise go with stock cartel piece for less. Also if you want to go big and bold keep yours eyes out for a gen dial. They do come up here and the other forums occasionally.
  15. Stunning collection. Wear those beauties well.
  16. I can't imagine they are the same size. I wouldn't go there. Just epoxy the existing one if you want to take it swimming.
  17. There was a poster in the subway and someone had scrawled "Village People" across it - too funny.
  18. Brings back real memories. I remember when you owned all of them. Your Genta period. And still all classics.
  19. Congrats. Wear that one well. Reps are great but there is nothing like a gen.
  20. I am with Maxman. Cars are like watches although not good for 50 years. I prefer to buy 2-3 years old coming off lease with under 30,000 miles and pay a premium to buy Certified Pre-Owned with a top-of the line warranty. If you catch a dealer at the right time you can often get them to provide an extended warranty for the same price. And I tend to go local as you have someone to yell at who wants your next car purchase if you have a problem. It also enables you to buy much more car that way.
  21. Yes, welcome to the forum. There is a good amount of useful information and a lot of nice people. Enjoy the ride.
