  1. She hasn't come back here since. I swear I saw her screen name over there a while back though.
  2. You guys are smoking dope. A fond rememberance? I have mine and will keep it but I remember the other side of it. First, there were the famous Blade stories when he disappeared - "ran off with the money and driving a new Acura", "drafted by the Serbian Army" and finally "thrown in-jail". I also remember the admin team desperately trying to figure out how to make the monthly payment and living in fear as to when the domain subscription would expire. And I remember the thousands of members left hanging. But what I remember first and foremost was Thomas (Admin) stepping up and providing a home at TRC and ultimately starting this place. Fast forward to today and the rep forums, the management thereof and the hobby itself have now moved onto a whole new level. Long live all of the forums. We will never let that happen to us again.
  3. Agreed. But would you really buy a watch located in Russia? Not unless you live in Russia.
  4. Wonderful project. You always do beautiful work. I am loving that "burnt" dial.
  5. Looks great. Wear that one well. I have one from Angus with the all dark dial and date wheel and am waiting for one of Veyron's croc straps. The ultimate black tie dress watch.
  6. Davidsen is the maker of the 47mm Egi. The gen and standard cartel issue are both 60mm. He may very well sell the case separately.
  7. I do hope they make a good rep of the basic model. It has been growing on me big time and I am heading out for sun and fun in the not too distant future.
  8. No, but fair point. Kbiz- PM me on Wednesday when I am back in the office and I can review what I got on the dials you are looking for.
  9. I love this phenomenon of frankens passing on from one member to another appreciative one. Mine go to other members and they disappear never to be seen again. Wait a minute, that's my own fault. I always pass them on with the condition of a ROFR if they re-sell. T- That 219 is looking great. Wear it well. I also know you have a fair number of gens so this one has to be phenomenal if you are wearing it. We are either kindred spirits or fellow idiots.
  10. Ridiculous pics. Oh, and nice watch as well.
  11. Great tutorial. I may have to take a seconds at 12 I have lying around apart to try this. I just have to make sure not to lose one of the umpteen gaskets.
  12. I gotta correct myself. I think Wolf and Avitt have this one right. So much for my powers of observation. I am wearing a gen as I write this. Where is that notch when you need it?
  13. VDBroucke did make a copy. There have been pictures here from time to time. His is supposed to be amazing with gen dial, movement, etc. There are actual pics of the cutting of the block of steel for the case.
  14. I guess top one is gen. I focus on lugs and what I call "shoulder droop" or case profile as it approaches the corners/lugs. They are both excellent cases though.
  15. RW- That one came out beautifully. Congrats. I have yet to do a historic franken but am gearing up. Wear yours well.
  16. Can't wait to see the final project. I know how long it takes to amass these parts. It will be a stunner when done.
  17. Great pics and a very nice collection. I love that 156.
  18. Stunning watches. Wear those well. Whenever you have a moment could you please snap a quick shot of Jakob's case back. I am still waiting for mine so I am dying of curiousity. But those look great. I look forward to seeing them in the wrist checks.
  19. The issue is whether the crown is for a handwind (1.2mm) or automatic (0.9mm) stem. It doesn't matter whether it is ti or ss.
  20. Go for it. That is a great project. And you know everyone is in for multiples if anywhere near that pricing.
  21. Congrats on the watch. It looks great. I did it the other way. Invest too much money and take 3 years to assemble the parts. The funny thing is the star part on my watch was a first generation dial for $250 which needed a relume. But this one is never going anywhere other than my wrist. Seriously, how do you take pics like that with an iphone?
  22. P- A stunning piece but you knew that. Too funny that you are taking a second turn on this one. Pics look great. I will be curious to hear how you fit the 581 case back on what I assume is an EL or equivalent case. And of course inquiring minds want to know - did you pay more this time or the last time.
  23. Very nice collection. Loving the Pre-V. Wear them well.
  24. S- Very nice work. And a belated Happy Birthday of course. You're not getting older. You're getting better.
