  1. Is that what I think it is? Looks great. Not quite Another forum member managed to flood his gen and so I picked it up and had Ziggy revive it.:
  2. Great stuff. It's all in the "6" baby. T dial looks great but no one ever gets the 6 right - oh, except for Panerai.
  3. Been a while on this one but I still enjoy it very much.
  4. I agree. Gen with replacement dial. I would guess bezel is replaced too.
  5. As far as I know they never came out with the rep. I actually have yet to see a bi-metal rep (ti and ss).
  6. Wolf- Absolutely stunning piece. I know how much effort you put into that one and it was well worth it. ATB- W
  7. Of course the mystery for the ages is how all these gen collectors find these pieces. The thing that is really funny is he refers to the mystery person who is providing the fake as a WIS he knows. I guess he has true respect for rep colectors.
  8. Well, if you have a "screen machine" it is a piece of cake. If not you better have a stable hand.
  9. Very nice stuff. Wear those well. Looking forward to seeing your next project.
  10. Congrats. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  11. That ain't no rep. I am with Don - probably my favorite B&R.
  12. Changed it up for today. Franken 3717:
  13. Welcome to RWG. We hope you spend some time here and get to know some of the folks. Best of luck with your upcoming watches.
  14. I don't know how you guys survive in the EU. In our neck of the woods all they care is that it is not a bomb. Best of luck in any case.
  15. You have the classics and they are all looking good. Wear those well.
  16. T Swiss T- Thanks for the review. That is one of the few recent gens that I have been lusting for for a while. The rep does look pretty good but I must confess I have to think about the wrong sub-dial functionality - that has usually been a deal killer for me. But god do I want that watch. Great pics.
  17. Nice to see this thread resurrected. That piece is stunning and is actually the inspiration of a couple of more contemporary frankens using the coating I am hoping to debut later this month. And as long as we are on Pre-V for those who are wondering, no the pre-v case project has not died. I am just slow as molasses. I finally found a better prototype. As we speak the bezel is being milled slightly for better accuracy and a pair of gen strap pins are being fitted. I will show a couple of pics when the proto is done in the next couple of weeks. And yes I have spoken with Ziggy about potential PVD when we are happy with the basic case. No PM's please.
  18. As KB says, if this item is for sale it belongs in the sale section. In terms of value do a quick search under Vacheron Constantin on the bay and you will see any number of pieces with gen movements, dials and hands re-cased in a new case. The value is truly based on finding the right buyer as they sell as low as $400 and as high as $1750+ in SS. The original pocket watch would have sold for substantially more. $4k plus for SS and $7K plus in gold. I am not smart enough to know the value of a particular movement but that is not normally what determines the price. I only know this as I have watched these frankens for years and debated whether to buy one. Hope that helps.
  19. Looks great. Wear it well. Paul is Rolexfinder.
  20. The funny thing is that it is a couple of frankens that I am unlikely to sell or give to kids. No one else will ever appreciate the love or story behind them.
  21. Put's it all in perspective.
  22. I prefer to think of it as the Road Warrior meets the DSSD. And the Road Warrior wins hands down.
  23. So true. But unfortunately with one or two exceptions I fall in love with all of them and I have no business still owning all of them. I promised I would make room for a couple coming in and so far I have dodged the bullet.
