  1. Well, you can thank the Japanese for the very high end reps. They were the first market to want and be willing to pay for the best in reps.
  2. In this order and what I think is achievable in relatively short order: Date Font Cyclops where possible and appropriate Crowns where the crowns currently are poor, etc.
  3. I can't decide whether I am dying to have it or simply laughing very hard.
  4. Wow! I am saving my pennies, oops I mean dollars for this one.
  5. Could it be another potluck 7750? Mine works perfectly. Okay, maye not. I have never worn it and probably won't. Well, it can always join the rep "paperweight" club.
  6. Wear it well. Now you just need the car.
  7. Crown looks fantastic. Although I will be waiting for a while it is well worth the wait. The date does look very good. Decent font and all black minimizing the additional gap between the datewheel and the dial makes a big difference. You've shown yours and it looks great. Someday when they are done I will show mine.
  8. Same with my wife. And to make matters worse she only wears gens so when they break she is off to the Madison Avenue main store. 2 months and a $1,000 later... Then again she never bitches about the ridiculous amount of money I spend on reps.
  9. I suspect all hope is lost. But I would love to be proven wrong.
  10. Yes and it does make a difference. Bluish tint.
  11. The wondows are lacking AR coat too. Perhaps I will ask the local optician.
  12. Well, if you can find a good pic of the date wheel (top of the movement) perhaps we can fix the date font.
  13. I read the same article om counterfeiting. It acknowledged that the reps have gotten better. But they are clearly not aware of the highest echelons. Then again we are a pimple on the ass of the rep business.
  14. AD experience: Breguet - 3 months, $1,000 for service and polishing Breitling - 2 months, $850 new crystal service and polish Cartier - 2months, $600 service AP - Water into movement. $1500 for quartz movement. Currently a paperweight.
  15. I use it all the time (and you will too Ubi). When your kids get to a certain age they want to time everything.
  16. You may need to trim your fingernails.
  17. No. I am looking for a picture of the front side of the movement which should show the entire datewheel.
  18. Does anyone know what the font is on this particular model or have a good picture of the datewheel on the gen?
  19. Day trip - one on the wrist. Overnight - 1+1. Any longer - 1 on wrist and two in case. Hell I bring three when I go away for the weekend.
  20. No they are not linked. I would guess you posted there by accident.
