  1. I would settle for the Estes Full Scale Model Rocket of the Saturn V (4 D engines). Are you old enough to remember? Mine blew up on the launch pad after a solid week assembling it.
  2. Do I qualify? Let me know. It would pair up nicely with my Chrono Avenger, wouldn't it? Now all we need is a better date font.
  3. V- Great comparison. Actually the casebacks are bigger on the H Series gens versus the G's. My bottom line is that I am staying away from the newer reps until someone gets the crown guards right. On the H my guess (and it is a guess) is that the change in the clear casebacks is more pronounced than on the solid casebacks. I have owned both gens and reps of the earlier models and the differences are not nearly as pronounced. Yes, a gen is a gen and in a different league but PAM is also getting smarter. Better crown guards, engraving in between the lugs, changing the spelling on engraved bezels between 250 and 251, etc.
  4. Eddie- You must be a marked man. Albeit I am an American but I travel back and forth to Canada several times a month and they are nothing but polite and efficient. Marked difference between Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto though.
  5. Wow that is one slow website. If that is any indication of their shipping any first generation watch you ordered will be available in the 7th edition about the same time you receive the order. I also must say that i have never seen a 196 with a Swiss 7750 movement ($549). Even when it really is a 2XX.
  6. Willith- Absolutely no word. At this point my guess is the only hope is Ken (honpo). There is a lingering description on the honpo page for a valjoux Panerai something priced at 100,000 yen. Also Ken is not saying it won't happen more a matter of when. So nothing has changed except I have managed to ruin a couple of my bezel markers by overpolishing on my 7750 version.
  7. Life is always a tradeoff. Although the case is lighter and the bezel seating and height are not as good relative to the gen this version does finally correct the 6 o'clock marker (too high on the old case version), has a much better crown and, as mentioned, it has AR. Very nice watch Pug. Enjoy your PAM's. Be forewarned the 7753's are addictive.
  8. If you are going to go AP big I am with Quarks. ROO Offshore is stunning big guy from AP - 18k of course. But on an apples to apples basis you have to compare 187 to T-3. Stunning watches though.
  9. Oliver has always been very skilled. It is great to see him sharing his skills with other members. Cant wait to see the pics.
  10. Ubi- Looking good. If you are still having problems with the movement spacer try Ziggy. He swapped out movement and dial on my Chrono Avenger. I actually went through two "wrong" dials before ending up back with the rep dial though.
  11. Couldn't you at least come up with an Italian beer? Great pic though.
  12. Going with the WM 47mm today. Can't take credit for the picture though. I stole it from I can't remember who.
  13. 55th and Park - showroom for Ferarri and Maserati. Mercedes (check out Gullwing) and Maybach are on the next block. But they are happy to sell you one of each.
  14. Does anyone remember Mighty Orbots: http://well-of-souls.com/orbots/orbots.htm The first robots with personalities.
  15. Quarks- Yes, I like the line, love the crown. But the car thing does always bother me. By the way, for whatever reason the US Ferarri showroom has none of these watches yet. I walk by it every day and peer in every once in a while. You have to respect a car company that has a beautiful showroom on Park Avenue and sells no cars. You walk in. Needless to say, an attractive woman walks up to you and tells you all about whatever model you are looking at. When you ask how much or how long it takes to get one they tell you that they have no idea and then refer you to one of the several dealerships in and around metropolitan New York.
  16. I am with you. My kids will be the excuse but I am looking forward to it. Now if they could only make a movie on the mighty Orbots,
  17. Ubi- I know you have kids so that is for me to know and you to find out.
  18. For those of you with kids if you have any say as to waht movie to see take them to see Zoom. At least the star spends the whole movie wearing a blue faced PAM. I spent the bulk of the movie trying to figure out which model it is.
  19. The wife has informed me that the next big league watch purchase is gonna cost me a 750il. She is tired of my old cars.
  20. Do you think it is white or metallic on the sub-dial?
  21. Bignasty- Do you have any pics? I also am wondering if anyone bought and put on his AR coated 44mm version.
  22. I actually like the one in the bottom of your posts better. I am wondering if on the Scuderia Panerai actually took a lesson from the rep manufacturers. The magnification on the date looks pretty reasonable without a cyclops on the crystal so I am wondering if they have a cyclops immediately above the date (ala 222 or 2892-A2 Power reserve). I like the look but do kind of feel like I would want the car first. Either that or I have to put a bumper sticker on one of my cars which says "My other car is a Ferrari". Quarks- Without the Ferarri in the driveway I would prefer the 187. Or is there something I should know.
