  1. Nautilus, the Aquanaut dial is too cluttered, looks amaturish.
  2. Very nice, how comfortable is the clasp?
  3. OK, I just went through this. Bought a 42mm PO on bracelet from Joshua, with a week the mushroom pin and rivet that hold the pin in position within the clasp came apart. It's a 2 part pin. I was advised by members to JB Weld the pin and rivet into the clasp. Joshua (no questions asked) graciously sent me a whole new bracelet, problem solved. Now when I wear the PO I don't put any pressure on the bracelet, don't lift anything heavy. Also, when closing the clasp I hold the clasp buttons open and shut them when the clasp is closed. This way you are not pushing the clasp shut against the mushroom pin.
  4. Why not wear it as a daily beater? That will only help "vintagize" the case.
  5. Hi Mickey, yes, I saw your photos showing the strap you got from this seller, looks VERY nice! I will check with him. And, if I may ask, did you have trouble getting this strap to go through the rep deployant that originally came with the watch? The slit is very narrow. Thanks much.
  6. Ok, I spoke to Josh about this - nothing he can do. Did some more research, apparently Micky Padge got an OEM strap from someplace that he was able to use with the rep deployant, so I may go this route. Or, I may just get a 22mm strap with unbranded tang buckle and be done with it. Fair warning: if you have a 6.5" wrist and get the 43mm Carrera Day/Date you will not be able to size the strap down enough to be able to wear it. Besides, the strap leather is c**p anyway.
  7. Aloha y'all - well, I just received the Carrera Day/Date Singapore F1 green version from Joshua, really, really nice watch and even though I don't like the appearance of titanium, it is stunningly lightweight for a watch of this size. I am having a problem though - I got the watch with leather strap and I'm having a very tough time pulling the strap through the deployant far enough to make the strap short enough to wear. The strap is geting too thick to pull through any further, and so I'm prevented from wearing this very cool new watch. Any ideas or suggestions what I can do? Thanks very much.
  8. In the last 2 years or so Ive seen only 4-5 Pams in downtown Chicago where I work, and at some trendy restaurants, but I don't hang out in the"edgy" parts of Chi so maybe there are more there...however, I just re-kindled my Pam affection, I just got a Pam Daylight from Joshua and it's a very sexy watch. Don't really care if Pam is passe or not.
  9. Thought I read this somewhere - aren't some of Watcheden's quartz movement Speedies fairly decent looking?
  10. Sander, to me you are a genius, this is coming from someone who often has a hard time sizing a bracelet.
  11. Yeah, the vanilla smell, a combination of stale vanilla and...dirt. LOL, I will never look at ostrich the same way again.
  12. I have the updated 253 from Josh, Dave. A really beautiful, well done watch. No glaring tells that I can see really, even the blue chrono needle is spot on. However, you will love the smell of the rubber strap...
  13. browngo, thanks for your reply. I get the impression that you think Joshua's QC procedures are not even necessary, well that's your choice. I've been collecting reps for 8 years, used Joshua many times because he's very good, but sometimes stuff slips past even the best dealer. Joshua offers QC service and that's what I expect.
  14. OK, Joshua just e-mailed me an EMS tracking # for the Pam 196 I just paid for, really fast. But, am I going to see QC photos before he actually ships? Is this the usual, to get a tracking # before you see the QC pics?
  15. Hont has a reputation for being one of the least expensive.
  16. it's really a shame that DW watches come with so many caveats, I was all set to buy, now not so sure.
  17. jmb, perfection has its costs, LOL. FxrAndy, thank you for your detailed response, I'm ready for Josh, bring it on.
  18. Hi all, I just ordered a Pam 196 Daylight from Joshua (I'm excited!) When I get the QC photo showing the watch on the timing machine, what number(s) should I look for? What number is considered acceptable in this QC approval process? Thanks very much.
  19. I vote for #3, a refreshing change from all the black dial watches we see. Hmm, I'd really like to get a one of DW's Daytonas but it sounds very frustrating.
  20. Angus' Pam 359 release has rekindled my interest in Pams, but I don't care for the 359, the numbers remind me of a grade school classroom clock. I've wanted a 196 Daylight/black dial for awhile now, and will be ordering one next week. I'm excited, such a sexy watch.
  21. Nice! Your wife is lucky. Strangely ebough, I like the Tag the best, very cool look - no nonsense sport watch capped with some bling.
