Are you serious?
Why would the RWG admin want to get involved with answering hundreds of sale question e-mails daily not to mention having to get involved with repairs?
Wow, nice. I love Manhattan, such an exuberant town but I just read the top of the Woolworth is going condo? Sad, the whole town is turning into uber-wealthy playground, and how boring is that.
Honestly, after 10 minutes of staring at the watch he couldn't tell it was a rep and he STILL hates them?
Well let him have his way then.
Bet it was a god conversation though.
OK, so you guys convinced me - I need an SS GMT IIc.
Now, which dealer has a really nice one? I've looked at dealer photos and in some, the bezel number cutouts seem to too thin.
Nanuq, my nephews are in the Boy Scouts, best thing that ever happened to them, and an antidote to all the video games they were playing...
As for more people carrying guns, I don't want to even contmplate what that would do to road rage.
First of all I'd go to the Rolex website and see which versions of the watch are available, there are a lot of fantasy versions offered by our dealers.
In my observations the bezels on the DD IIs are too wide compard to the gen.
Shame Gio doesn't post anymore, he has great taste and his tuto's on improving watches were so easy to do with such excellent results.
Very talented guy.
This is the thing with this watch - it's so highly recognizable, if you run into a Rolex fan they will immediately recognize it and want to see its complications - the countdown feature etc.
There is no rep that can do the things the genuine can do, it's a remarkable piece of horology.
You will be called out.
Thanks for your reply, so basically it's a gamble whether it will fit, all depends on the lug hole drilling.
I'm skeptical by nature, so...I've never bought a bracelet to retrofit a watch, but if I would the first thing I would think of "will this line up with the lug holes?"
So what happens if the lug holes are off? Are there any mods that can be done to make it fit?
Pardon my ignorance but, how does one know that this v3 bracelet will fit whatever watch one has?
I always marvel at the confidence of people buying after purchase bracelets, assuming that the endlinks will line up well with the pre-drilled lug holes.
Am I missing something, please educate me.
Thanks.
You know, it's always the lawyers getting in the way - everyone is so worried about lawsuits nowadays, so they're over-protective.
But in the future you should probably dive away from the nannies.
The two tone reps I've owned - doesn't matter if the sides of the links are plated or not - the real problem is the gold they use has some impurities in it which tend to come out after awhile, the tarnish, discoloration these watches develop is really something.
Sure I buff it out but it comes back again quickly.
The gen gold plated watches I own don't tarnish like these reps.
