  1. LOL, I was thinking the same thing about James, kinda pathetic.
  2. What fun! Wish I had one, just tried one on at Tourneau in Manhattan, sadly too big for me.
  3. I think I'd rather have this than the new iPad. Thoughts?
  4. Thanks for the leads, TeeJay. I have a few 44mm Pams, I can wear them pretty well, I think, so the DSSD should not be a problem.
  5. I've read that the 20mm bracelet width is quite brilliant - it helps to balance the watch on the wrist. OK, now I'm intrigued - I have a 6.5" wrist, more round than narrow. Could I wear a DSSD? And, who has a good, cheap DSSD to try out?
  6. iOffer used to be OK, but most of the decent dealers left some time ago, I'd stay away.
  7. Here's a tip for you - as you are shutting the clasp, push the buttons on either side of the clasp in, then release when the clasp is fully closed.
  8. Update: I thought Joshua was going to send me just a new clasp, but he sent me a whole new bracelet! And THAT is why I buy from him. Gonna mount this new bracelet tonight and go back to enjoying my new PO. Just going to be a bit careful not to put any stress on the bracelet.

Sorry for my ignorance but, does this one come complete with movement or is this just case, dial and hand set? Thanks!
  10. Personally I'd be more worried about the clasp button that can break off, I'm still trying to fix mine. I think you know about it, you posted in my thread on RG. I bought some J B Weld and will use it today, but not sure how successfully re-glue such a tiny pin to the clasp. Joshua, to his credit, is sending me a new one, but I'm not sure how I'm going to permanently affix that one either. Sorry to digress from your original question.
  11. Hmmm, A&B didn't want to work on rep movement, eh? That truly sucks, I thought I found a convenient smith in downtown Chicago. I used him only once - I had a problem with my new Pam, one of the strap quick release buttons was jammed (I hate that system), and he managed to fix it, so I had no experience with him servicing movements. Is Speedy still in business even? I thought he had some huge backlog issues.
  12. Hi jkay, no I don't think so. I can slip my pinkie under the bracelet. Update: Wore fixed watch less than 1 hour, pin broke off again, will try to re-epoxy one more time. Now I am [censored] - it seems this is a continuing problem through all PO generations. Popular watch right now, and a warning to potential buyers - you may have this problem if you buy the PO with bracelet. I have also contacted Joshua about this. And I want to wear this watch on bracelet, not rubber.
  13. Ukulele! Been playing now for 6 years, weekly classes with 5 other ukers, taught by a hawaiian lady who really pushes us hard - jazz chords, flamenco strums, improv solos. She's an incredible musician and if 10 percent of what she can do rubs off on me, I'll be happy. I'm absolutely loving it - one of the best things I've done in my life recently.
  14. Solved - re-glued to the clasp leaf with a tiny bit of epoxy.
  15. Hi everyone, I received one of the new 42mm POs on bracelet from Joshua last week, and have been wearing it every day, really impressed with the fit and finish of this watch, just beautiful. I just picked up something heavy, had to flex my wrist, and suddenly the bracelet felt very loose. I opened the clasp and the tiny button that goes into the hole in the clasp leaf and clicks the clasp shut fell out in 2 tiny parts. Quite the flimsy little part that keeps the heavy bracelet shut, I must say. Can this be repaired by a watchsmith, or should I just contact Joshua for a new bracelet? Right now I'm kind of bummed. Thanks much.
  16. Just got the new PO with DG4813 movement, all white markers - the fit and finish of this watch is really amazing. But, the HE valve and crown are really too thick, stick way out from case.
  17. A & B Watch Repair 29 E. Madison, Suite 809 Mr. Waseem I found out he had no problems with reps - he tried to sell me a few overpriced quartz chrono FMs.
  18. I shopped around a bit for my last purchases - the new Pamm 253 Regatta and the uber-value new 42mm PO. A few dealers took up to 2 days to even reply, frustrating and drawn-out, so I went with Joshua. Ordered on a Friday, delivered to me the VERY NEXT Friday. You want relatively instant gratification, use Josh!
  19. I like the Montblanc Le Grande series pens, they are big and fat, I have a weird grip and they fit my hand nicely, SO comfortable to use. The gen LeGrande rollers and ballpoints run about $300 I believe, WAY too much for such a pen, so I've bought 2 from Narikaa. What can I say, for a $25 pen they are fine, yes, some of the black paint has chipped off over time revealing the brass underneath (they are fairly heavy pens BTW). I baby these pens, and am not happy with the chipping, what can you do. I bought them because they are oversize, and so they serve my purpose very well and are a pleasure to use. In one the gen refill fits, the other not. I've tried the tip reaming out mod, does not work. There are NOT enough threads on the gen refill to screw down far enough to the tip! As for rep fountain pens - I have one that's absolute garbage, and another, the Copernicus from TTK that has an amazing nib, go figure.
  20. Fellow Chi-towner here - they've closed down northbound Lake Shore Drive, a large piece of debris got blown off Wrigley Field onto Clark Street, drifts up to 8 feet, this is at 10:30 PM. The wind outside is a constant roar. I left work today at 2 PM, finally got home at 6:30, the trains were totally messed up with a lot of people leaving work early. Taking the day off tomorrow, just hope we don't have a power outage.
  21. Very nice piece, but what is going on with the bezel pearl? It looks like it fell out?
