Thanks for sympathy TeeJay. I really don't know what's going on with the asian clone GMT movements but I got 2 that were DOA, almost seems too much of a coincidence. The dealer said the 2nd one they ran the watch for 2 days before shipping and it ran fine. I got it and could not get it to wind and run. So right now I don't know what to do, I don't have a GMT IIc, not sure where to buy one with confidence. Again, sorry for the digression from the OP's query, but this is relevant. He's sending his GMT IIc back also.

Jeez dude, you seem to be sending a lot of watches back - first the MM GTXL chrono now this GMT. If it makes you feel any better, I recently ordered a GMT IIc with asian clone movement and it arrived DOA, I sent it back, was sent a second one which also came DOA. I'm done with a dropshipped GMT IIc, no more. I may get one from a dealer willing to run the watch a few days to make sure it works, those asian movements modded for GMT are not stable. I sent the 2nd one one back yesterday and am getting a credit towards a BCE. So far I've spent $60 on shipping with no reimbursement. Anyway, sorry to digress. How about an ultimate Seadweller, regular one, not the DSSD? No worries about mis-aligned cyclops. It's such a pure, functional perfect design, absolutely iconic.

It will be very interesting to see how MBW treats the DateJust II, the current one out is not very accurate or graceful looking.
-
@ watchgal I hate to bring this up I wonder if the watchsmith treated you that way because you're a girl, he might not have dared to act that way to a guy.

I have one of the old 168 Regatta's on steel bracelet and it wears beautifully on a 6.5" wrist. I've been studying Joshua's website and the specs for the chronographs say the bracelet is all SS. With the case being Ti and no Ti in the bracelet, the case and bracelet don't match well, the Ti lugs against the SS bracelet does not look right.

I like the design, it looks more bold, modern, updated without trying too hard. Love the liquid look of the bezel. What exactly is the problem with how the rubber strap attaches to the case? It looks flimsy but can't tell from pics exactly why. Thanks for your review.

Use Loctite Blue on the screws and don't screw them down super tight. You should be able to un-screw them if necessary without any trouble.

Hi Polo, and welcome. The cream dial EXPII is very nice, I may pick one up. Dropshipping and lack of basic inspection before shipping is an on-going problem for us rep watch collectors. There are only a few dealers here that we know do this. If you can inspect the watch before sending and provide good service you will do very well. Bets of luck to you.

R, I spoke to you in PM about this watch on RG as I'm thinking of getting one also. Wouldn't it be better to send this watch to a trusted watchsmith such as Zig or rex750 and sort out repair payment with the dealer rather than risk chinese customs a 3rd time, and the typical delays in getting a dealer fix?

QC inspector #13 must have had the day off...

I'm beginning to think it's really not fair to put this on DW without verification. Who else offers assymetrical pushers? -

Jeez, his watches aren't cheap. I don't understand, DW is not exactly a dropshipper. -

My stars, you're not actually going to try to fix this, Zig? I'd send it right back and ask for my money back, including shipping. This is actually depressing, we pay a lot of money for these watches. -
Absolutely amazing - it looks so smooth and satiny.

Thanks very much for all of your good advice in this situation, freddy. Right now I'm a bit leery of the modded for GMT movement, so I don't know if I'll try to get another one. As for rep friendly watchsmith, I thought I found one about 1 hour's drive from my home but he only feels comfortable doing certain things, more complex movement issues he doesn't want to undertake because of the questionable asian movement.
-
Jeez, Joshua's pics look murky and underexposed and King's look overexposed, I have no idea what this rep really looks like.
-
Wow R, I just stumbled across this thread, you're really branching out into other manufactures, good for you! Can't wait to see what other watches you decide to acquire.

Update: I e-mailed Joshua this morning and asked for a sendback and total refund. I've lost faith in this movement, shame really. He agreed, no argument or foot dragging. Josh is a great dealer. Now, what to get instead?
-
Details please? A few weeks ago I posted begging for the limited edition BCE, rhodium dial with silver subdials to be repped.

Hi freddy, I followed your instructions precisely and it didn't work, and screwed the crown back down carefully and completely. I also posted on RG, rex750, a watchsmith and member there said he's been having problems with some recent asian clone GMTs, getting them to run. I don't mind saying the dealer is Joshua, he has been reasonable and appropriate about this so far. I'll contact him tomorrow to tell him I tried to get the watch going, wish me a good ending to this. Thanks!

Hi people, I recently bought a GMT IIc with asian ETA 2836 from a trusted dealer. When I got it, no amount of palm swirling, hand winding, gentle palm slapping would get the watch to start ticking. I contacted the dealer and sent the watch back. I just received it again, after swirling, hand winding 40 turns, it will not start ticking, just like when I first got it. Contacted dealer again, he said it was tested for 48 hours before shipping, I need to check it again which I will do when I get home tonight. But really, I don't think it will start to tick. I thought this movement was pretty stable? Is there some special winding technique I should try? Should I be adamant about returnig this watch for a refund? Please help! Thanks much.

Is he willing to send you a photo of the actual watch for your approval before shipping? What forms of payment does he take? Thank you.

PM Kenberg, a member here he'll take care of you.

Your photos are breathtaking, nice job OK, not to rain on your post but, what's are the flaws of this replica? Something weird going on with the diameter of the dial, the rehaut, retainer ring which you can see...just not a very clean presentation. Are they using a too small dial?
-
Thanks Ubi, I knew one of the old timers would get it. Oh God to have those posts back again when TTK and Maria would go at it, two uncensored, un-politically correct, outrageous flamethrowers. Now THAT was entertainment.
