  1. The very few times anyone has noticed my rep, I've never been asked if it's real or fake, personally I think that would be kind of rude and I'm glad that's never happended to me.
  2. Yo Nanuq, I'd love to see a pic of the driver's seat back.
  3. Lani, one time at a uke festival this guy handed me a vintage Martin uke, I was lucky to be able to hold and play it, it sounded out of this world. He said he's gotten as much as $4,000 for one on eBay.... I immediately handed it back to him.
  4. Thanks to the both of you for your most gracious repsonse to my 6.5" wrist query! Hmm...I think I need to get the RG one.
  5. Not to thread crap here but, following Lani's lead - do you play the uke? I have a Koaloha concert, been playing & taking lessons from a kumu for 5 years.
  6. Anyone? I know there are other people here who look at his website.
  7. No I just like to look
  8. Superb review and photos, guys - a beautiful collaboration. How do you think this watch would wear on a 6.5" wrist?
  9. Hi, I just tried www.etayahonpo.jp and got some type of error screen. Does anyone know the correct URL for Honpo please? Thanks very much!
  10. True works of art, amazing!
  11. Thanks for the tech info, R. So do you shoot right by a window?
  12. Your photo skills are truly commendable...may I ask? What is your lighting set-up? Where do you shoot your watches? Thanks!
  13. Congrats to you TeeJay and to your bride, and I'm glad the watch thing worked out for you, you gotta have a special timepiece for this extraordinary day in your life.
  14. I just spewed coffee all over my monitor...too funny. I thought you were so brave sacrificing your DeepSea to the cause, but your camera too! Yeah, the DSD is having the last laugh, isn't it?
  15. Hi, I share your enthusiasm for quartz Ebel chronos - I bought a surprisingly good one from a dealer on cqout, colin778, for about $60! It's the 1911 Discovery, all SS on bracelet, black dial, with tachy scale on the bezel, that makes it the Discovery model. Wonderful chrono, the subdials re-set perfectly.
  16. Ah thanks, TeeJay, so it's Robert (PWC). So, what do you guys think of the one Piratedzeus posted? Also, what do you think of Watcheden's version?
  17. Is this watcheden/tonyxkf offering?
  18. I'm thinking Oyster attached to the watch and the President bracelet extra, as Shundi suggested, I can change the bracelet if I want, why didn't I think of it? Anyway, do I really have to wait until February 10th, after CNY to order this watch? Thanks much for your input, guys, a big help.
  19. Thanks for your reply, Shundi. Ordering both bracelets - that's a superb idea, thank you! As for the Jubilee bracelet, mmm, sorry, too busy. The bezel you show in the pic is the smooth "chamfered" bezel, as in cut at a 45 degree angle in cross-section. I'd like the smooth rounded bezel, if you cut it cross-section, the edges would look like a section of a circle, if that makes sense.
  20. Hi all, after CNY I'm ordering a somewhat "custom" DJ from Joshua: all SS, with blue sunburst dial/romans, and smooth rounded bezel. I'm trying to decide which bracelet would look better: the classic Oyster with polished mid-links for a clean modern look, or the more formal President's bracelet with it's nubby, more textured effect. I think the rounded links would compliment the smooth rounded bezel nicely. Both bracelet designs are beautiful in their own unique way, I'm having a difficult time deciding. I thank you in advance for your sdvice, and have a geat weekend.
  21. Beautiful, TJ! Industrial yet elegant, very unusual. Looking forward to the documentation of the actual event.
  22. The rep pens are OK, not great in terms of finish and weight. I recently carefully reamed out the tip of a rep pen, unfortunately the gen refill did not have enough threads to screw down and stick out thru the tip, that was a waste of time. I don't like the generic refills, they don't write well. So, I may be done with rep pens, not worth the bother. I'm going to buy a Laban Mento fountain pen, on eBay for $100, it's gotten superb reviews.
  23. Maybe it is old stock? The one you got Francisco, it looks like the old Daytona, the subdial treatment is different from the new ones offered at Trusty's and Joshua's site. I hope that's the situation, and thanks much for all your work on this.
  24. So far, The Zigmeister is skeptical about the new improved movement. Shame, I've wanted a Daytona for years.
  25. Mallers Building and Iwan Ries tobacconist a few doors down are two of the remaining gems from days gone by in downtown Chicago. So many remarkable, high quality, family owned businesses I remember as a kid are gone: Altman Cameras, Kroch's & Brentano's Books, Lyon & Healy musical instruments, Stop & Shop gourmet foods. Anyone here from Chicago remember these places?
