  1. I can give you a reliable source in the US who can get it for you 60% off retail price (down to about 3100USD). I like the first one more and been considering to get the gen. This is the movement that is similarly powered many Breguet chronographs.
  2. Based on watcher's picture, the DW is black or not? Yes, the blue dial can be hit and miss and I think it's a bit miss on this one. Agree, 40mm wears big on bracelet. Tried the gen before and I thought how on earth can I pull this in 44mm standard size. For my wrist, 44mm always with leather, 40mm can be on bracelet. Anyway, does the gen bracelet has Ti/SS combo or is it fully SS? The rep seems to come with full SS, unlike the discontinued 44mm PAM192.
  3. Overpriced... You can get similarly top of the line Aquatimer split minute for half as much. However... it;s only as big as Cousteau Divers but a bit thicker to accomodate split minute function and you may not like the Ti on it. The Top Gun is also a light watch. Ceramic + Ti = light. To me, that's the way to go but for many, the heavier, the better. How about 7 days Portugieser or even Big Pilot?
  4. 312 too... The Cvstos won't hold its value well and the Panerai just blew it to the dust.
  5. On the new rerelease, CG looks pretty decent IMHO.
  6. Only certain parts are interchangeable with ETA2824. They are not of the same base. As you stated, 2892 is a thinner movement so you may have to deal with crown tube/crown placement issue as well as movement retainer/how to fit the movement into the case issue.
  7. Looks 40mm to me (check out the open caseback) and the colour looks like Ti on the Regatta. I have a 196 and the distance of chrono pusher to the end of the lug appears larger on the 44mm model. So this is most likely an updated version of the long lost PAM168 (used to be in steel). If this is in Ti/Steel combo, I am so all over it.
  8. I agree... If given the choice, Galapagos new Aquatimer or this one, I will still pick this one.
  9. Why not swap it with brand new Panerai dial? As long as you have the old one, chances are you can get the brand new dial.
  10. The brown is darker than genuine St Antoine Exupery edition. Very nice watch if you ask me and a rare Aquatimer. Too bad it's only available at selected retailers and those contact selling Boesch boat actually can order the watch for you. It's still available to date at full retail price (no discount on this one). If you rep this, I will buy instantly.
  11. I have one of these as well but the movement is different from pictured above.
  12. Nope Coolfire, this watch does not belong to me, this one has slipped daywheel (usual problem) and is on repair. On mine lies an ETA7750
  13. The general consensus are most, if not all, high beat Asian 7750 comes without regulator. The one that we saw on Chopard MM GTXL Chrono or Concord is actually Valgranges look a like movement with regulator and big datewheel. The AP with running second at 12 also has this regulator on the movement. However, I have not seen any high beat Asian 7750 with regulator until just recently. Here are some pictures I took for reference.
  14. The differences are pretty minor. v2 has slightly darker tone on the ceramic case than v1. v1 has much better engraving on the caseback (more refined, sharper and better finishing) Top Gun stickers looks pretty different, v1 is slightly darker than v2 v1 has more matt black dial than v2 (darker black with the grey rings on 6-12 subdials present at certain angle). v1 has different retainer ring than v2 v1's chronograph movement mimics that behaviour of ETA7750, the minute chrono counter advances when second is at 59-60 mark. Polished movement dust cover for v2, brushed movement dust cover for v1. AR coating is more purplish and stronger on v1 than v2. The strap is slightly thicker than v2. It's not the lugholes which is wrong but the thickness of the strap on the reps. I think the genuine strap makes a difference in terms of thickness (you can notice it right away). My pick is still the v1 due to better engraving on the caseback. This can't be easily fixed.
  15. Yes it is... This is actually news about 1 1/2 years ago. It's together slightly later than SIHH2008.
  16. Looks to be 250 dial. The 12, 9, 6, 3 subdial is lumed on the gen.
  17. @Jawo: Some have not paid Rockeeter yet however they are out of watches.
  18. Thanks for posting. Spot the gen! Good time and great company.
  19. Oh yes, photos exist I think scoobs took some pictures of that.
  20. <name censored> was trying to catch Moby [censored] (le poisson) during wee hour in the morning. After that <the group> tried to force le bar at Hilton at 5.30am MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You won't get this kind of experience anywhere else.
  21. HA HA HA. Ah yes, the Seiko scaling roll. Was trying to explain to the ladies but can't find the right words You see, the problem is because of fixed scale. If the scale can be changed, that can save a little bit of calculation I believe. The built quality of Seiko is really nice, I must admit. Ahhh. Nice skeleton
  22. The lume is a bit flatter on the genuine dial. Am I right to say that?
  23. Glad that you won't go for that FG Rolex. I think that's really pimping out.
  24. On the deployant is a different kind. You can't fit the screw from the bezel. Good luck finding a replacement.
