  1. I will try to get some pictures on the "new, modified" movement retainer ring on CD2007. Anyway, if you remove that plate, you won't have any problem with alignment but bezel will not have click anymore.
  2. Bearing in mind that this is a fantasy model, I am still going to enjoy Pugwash's Eye Candy treatment.
  3. I am craving for more "perspective" here Looking forward to it Pug.
  4. For the pictures, you can switch to macro mode. It helps a lot to show details. However, good light source is very important too. Sometimes my picture will look brownish/yellowish, this comes from my desk light bulb.
  5. All is cool. Like you said lanikai, I love both CD version 2006 and 2007. It comes to the point that I put 2 ETA7750 on both watches. I agree with bezel construction but if you read my comparison review, you will find the culprit is the plate on inner movement retainer ring. It can be fixed that both inner bezel to be perfectly alligned at 12 o'clock position just by slightly bending it inwards and using a little bit of sandpaper grinding. In this way, you can live without having your pusher "halfway stuck". @ryaku: yes this movement is Asian 7750 which comes on Slevin. I am not saying that it won't happen on CD as well but I can see that this movement is certainly different from the CD (although they look the same). They do come from the same source more or less.
  6. Mine is a Navi TT. If you are looking for less flaw, stick to 6-9-12 layout. That way you don't have to worry about sunken datewheel and you can swap the datewheel with lello's.
  7. Look at what is beneath the Slevin: So much so for attention to details... but look what's powering these watches. Buyer beware. These are 2 different movements from 2 different watches (Slevin). Didn't happen at all to at least 2 Cousteaus which I own, bought at different time line. If you read further, there are certain areas which Cousteau showing its aces. PS: great perspective Lanikai! But I have to disagree on your verdict. Cousteau is the winner here (by a slight margin).... If you are looking for accuracy, CD wins too. You try reluming that Slevin bezel... not an easy task. Another AR coating job, cost more $$$. So out of box, CD wins. In terms of pricing too, even the cartel has reduced CD below Slevin.
  8. The 2007 CD comes with stickers as well (at least for my piece). I am not sure for the latest batch. I got my piece from another member which comes with "older" type datefont with decorated movement.
  9. Both don't matter and interchangeable. And no... with CD2006, you won't get destroyed stickers/wood. It holds up very well. I took this watch for diving, swimming, washing clothes, etc. (sauna and hot tub included). It works.
  10. Well, good luck. I really hope you can get it sorted. Please let us know. I am pretty interested on the results too.
  11. be careful that crystal may not be interchangeable. I have tried to deal with the bezel and gave up. They have different dimension (1st gen vs 2nd gen) for the bezel alone. Chances are the crystal may have slight variation too.
  12. I agree with Andy. ST18 Seagull maybe able to replace your broken movement. However, this movement is thinner than ETA2824-2. You may need new movement retainer ring. Also, this movement doesn't come cheap. I consider this to be "hi end" chinese movement, looks like a clone of ETA 2892-A2.
  13. That I didn't know Well, it's really a nice piece anyway. Definitely will put a smile on the owner of this piece. The watch with similar movement can be found on eBay (ETA 289x based + DD module) at around 1000-1500USD. It's usually an old model from the 90s. If you see a 6-9-12 layout with running second at 12 (mechanical movement), chances are you're getting this ETA + DD module.
  14. I have heard about that too kruzer. However, he said this comes with genuine dial and genuine hands. Anyway, that movement can be found on many watches (although not very common), including Longines, etc...
  15. uh... I guess so. I feel sorry for that. Get a new one, it should be OK.
  16. Yes, based on reference on doubleredseadweller, it really depends on which time period you are going to create your modded vintage Rollie. I will go for flat T39 for DRSD too.
  17. Indeed it's really an awesome watch. Oversized, easy to read and very practical. Nonetheless, at 6kUSD, it's hell a lot of bargain (you can even toss it off as second hand for much higher than that).
  18. Very interesting piece to be replicated. I wonder what's the pricetag on this piece. I am in if it's under 100 quid.
  19. Gotta agree that on it looks beautiful on Rose Gold. Same thing goes for SMP in RG or white gold... It raises the bar.
  20. No problem at all Infact I didn't notice the last pictures. Photoshopped.
  21. Yes, possibly because of lighting angle or compression. The other pics clearly showed wrong logo.
  22. Omega logo comparison (picture taken from lello's): and... PO 42.5mm with gen dial: The 45.5mm should have the same logo too.
  23. I am 100% sure it's not a pure Swiss ETA 2892-A2. Look at the screw on the regulator too. On WM9's piece, the whole screw is a thru (-) head. On real ETA, it's not completely thru (there is solid part on the end). See azgjav's picture for more details.
  24. Please be careful that you may not get ETA2892-A2 movement. You may get Seagull ST18 instead. Look at the picture here: and compare it with: Look at the shape of balance wheel's regulator. Now compare it with genuine ETA 289x family: Last picture courtesy of azgjav. It's a movement from Breitling Skyracer, so a 2894 but the balance wheel regulator looks the same.
  25. so... in other words, Platinum/WG has more even "whiteness" correct?
