  1. Thanks again freddy. I guess the Zenith 3019 parts are interchangable with that of the cal.134, right?
  2. Thanks freddy. What are these parts called when I do the search?
  3. Anyone got any idea on this issue?
  4. Cost of making a ceramic insert is high. Also certain technology is involved. Doubt a rep. just costing 300 bucks can give you the real thing. Making the ceramic insert may already cost more that that. Don't try your knife on it, you will regret it.
  5. But then where can we get the movement locking screws/blades?
  6. Somehow I still decline to build the COMEX. People simply query if I have that much money to spent. These watches are supposed to be kept in the bank's safe rather then wearing on the street.
  7. Thanks a lot. So, 295 and 295C is exactly the same just with the cyclops added on the later. Am I correct?
  8. Anyone got the experience if there is any difference between the gen. 295 vs Clark's? Or are they exactly the same? Thanks.
  9. I think the 16520 hands won't fit either. Just wonder if the 16520 and 116520 hands share the same pinion hole size. Thanks.
  10. Do the old sytle (skinny) 116520 hands share the same specs as that used in the 16520 ie. the hole sizes are the same despite the movement used is different. Any ideas? Daytona experts please chim in. Thanks.
  11. It is simple. Can even do it youirself if you have the right tools. The ETA stem is easily available. No need to send everything across the Pacific for a stem changing. It won't cost you more than 10 bucks to fix it.
  12. Just get a new stem and screw it back onto the crown will do the job. The only tricky thing here is to remove the broken stem from the movement. In the real PP Nautilus, they use a two piece stem for easy removal. Perhaps you can think in this way which can save a lot of trouble when servicing the movement in the future.

    16520

The 3019 PHC in Movado Datrons only is 17 jewels only, is it functioning different than the 400. Also confused with the beat rate of the movements - should it be 28K, 31K or 36K bpm? For sure the 4030 has 36K. So, what will be the effect of lower beats in the El Primero? Thanks.

    16520

Thanks for all the info guys. This is why RWG is a lovely place. BTW, wonder how does the movement fix into the case. Is it something like the ETA's using screws and blades rather that the traditional Rolex locking screws into the groove?

    16520

Thanks sql. So all the hands have to be squeezed to fit the pinions on the regular El Primero? Which cal. is correct? Or just any 400 series will do? Please post pictures of yours when the project is done. Thanks.

    16520

Understand the El Primero 400 has the date function as well, did Daytona just removed this function to transplant into the 16520. What was the exact El Primero used in the 16520? Saw the original Zenith has different cal. such as 400, 400Z etc. Thanks.

    16520

Will the gen. dial and hand set fit straight onto the Zenith 400 movement? Or different cannon pins are used in the 4030 movement? The Daytona franken experts please chim in. Thanks.
  18. I am kind of confused. Should the rehaut on the 16610 be a bit shinny or is it completely brushed which shouldn't show any reflection at all? What is it really look like in the gen.? Thanks.
  19. Try your luck mate if you think DSN is sitting in Mongkok. If you know HK well, all those selling on the street or backyard stores are super low-end junks.
  20. Do you mean the rep endlinks can fit with the gen. strap to give a flush contact to the lugs? If yes, this is great news, can save a lot from getting the AP Bands endlinks.
  21. Stem is no issue. 7750 has both 1.2 and 0.9 available. Confirmed I have to drill the tube hole on my PAM199 marginally to accomodate the t crown. Now it is OK and good si that the inner o-ring can still sit back onto the groove of the tube.
  22. So a gen bezel, insert, tension spring, sapphire will fit onto the Euromariner retention ring OK to give the most accurate finish. Am I correct?
  23. Have been thinking about the Dewitt for a longer time but still unable to pull the trigger. Is is beautiful watch but perhaps a bit too flashy. The design is so eye-catching. The rep is excellently built except for those rubber studs not having a good fit with the bezel cut outs, at least in some of them if not all. Hope soon or later I can convince myself to take it. Still it is good for collection if not for wearing considering the build quality is so outstanding.
  24. But the gen. quality is top top notched. It will give you a completely different feeling. I have these experience with all the gen clasps such as PAM, Hublot, Breguet. The rep clasps are no where near to the gen in terms of comfort, feel and quality. Afterall it is a $600 vs $20 product but is well worth it when you actually have it on your wrist.
  25. From various investigations, it is quite true that the AP Bands endlnks can fit their own bands as well as the OEM to giva a nice flush against the watch lugs. Oracle will also fit but will leave a gap between the lugs and the strap - they only work with their own straps. So, if you are willing to invest for the most accurate, the AP Bands endlinks is the only choice, or getting the gen. links whcih I don't know will cost you how many times more.
