  1. Thanks Pollux The only ones I got left are the Rhodium DJ, Rado and the Nautilus, the others are gone but they're bringing back memories, I miss them
  2. Cheiftang IMO. The EU AR guys as Andreww put it, are gone for the time being.
  3. Have any of you got that feeling where you think a particular dial color suits you better? I mainly collect black dial steel watches and I only have one non-black dial watch so far, a Rhodium datejust. However, as beautiful as that watch is, to my eyes I think black dials suit my skin tone more. Funnily enough I asked my sister for her opinion and she loves the rhodium What do you guys think from the below wristshots, do black dials suit me better? (apologies for the blurry shots of the rhodium) Please feel free to vote and chime in, am looking forward to your opinions, thanks
  4. I managed to get some Rodico off the bay. Another question, what is the best method is to hold the rodico when preparing to clean the dial. On a tutorial at RG, a user puts a bit of rodico on the tip of a screwdriver, and then cleans this way. I tried this method on an old spare dial I have, and the tip almost always eventually pierced the Rodico entirely and then scratched the dial! I'm guessing its too risky holding a piece of Rodico with the fingers as I could accidentally touch the dial and then leave another mark. Any suggestions guys?
  5. I believe the correct one is SFSO.
  6. The program "AVI Splitter" comes into mind. I think its shareware but I'm sure theres a cracked version of it on either rapidshare or bittorrent. This one appears to be freeware and looks simple enough: LINK
  7. I agree, Rapidshare will guarantee the fastest download speeds.
  8. The reason why you didn't get an answer is because: 1)The truth is there is no 'best' replica for either of those models. Only you can define what 'best' means to you, are you after visual accuracy over build quality or vice versa etc. 2)Everyone expected you to research on the forum and then you would have come to the above conclusion.
  9. These certainly appear to be in abundance in China, many of the reps advertized as ETA are coming with them! Perhaps email a dealer who has a reputation for being able to source various watch parts.
  10. A quick newbie question about Rodico, you'll have to forgive me on this one After using Rodico to clean a dial and crystal etc, should it be disposed or can it be re-used? Thanks.
  11. I'm finding it really difficult to reach the spring bar in the clasp adjuster for the latest Oyster bracelet with polished mid-links. Its not easy to reach and catch a grip on the spring bar, I tried several times with a screwdriver with a really thin flat head but all that is happening is I'm stripping the spring bar 'latches'. There must be some way to get that spring bar out to adjust. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  12. Thanks TT. I had no idea that Paul passed away today, I changed to this avatar a few days back because its, as you said an awesome avatar. RIP Paul Newman
  13. I think as Fidestro put it, some people get the rep and then find it doesn't suit their tastes. I would say that the hype and reviews+pics are the primary reason why everyone feels they have to get the latest rep out, even though they know deep down they won't reall wear it. They still get it because everyone else is raving on how great a rep it is and you MUST have one. I must admit, I've made several impulse buys based on what I said above, and then I find myself putting them up for sale. I guess its just the norm of the watch world Except with reps due to the pricing we are able to try on a lot more watches.
  14. Yes toadtorrent, unfortunately the biggest mistake I made was not wearing anything over my fingers, neither surgical gloves or the finger cots. The dials wouldn't be in the condition that they are in if I had worn either of the two. Looks like surgical gloves are next on my list
  15. Because I don't have any Rodico But I'm guessing that is the only safest way to clean the dial.
  16. You can tell he wears his PO loose. How the hell is he able to stand wearing a watch that huge loose I must admit, I've recently began to wear my steel watches looser than I used to wear them, they are a lot more comfortable that way but I don't think I could do that with a 45mm PO.
  17. Apart from Rodico, are there any other good methods to clean a dial of fingerprints and dirt/dust etc. I just recently completed my first ever real mod. I ruined 2 movements and 2 dials in the process but I must say, I am feeling very satisfied Learnt a lot of things doing this and I must say it does feel good after you've completed a project
  18. Thanks Ztech. Another thing which is confusing me, is how the hell do you hold the loupe onto your eye without it being attached on anything. I was thinking of purchasing the steel headband that looks like a wire, and then use this to hold the loupe in place ontop of my eye. I would think it might be too risky if you hold the loupe on your eye by squinting, it could drop onto your work.
  19. I'm going to do a some dial swaps for a couple of my reps, and I'm beginning to purchase the relevant tools which will be required. I don't know which magnification on the loupe is best for this sort of work. The three common ones I see are 4X 5X and 10X. Which would be best?
  20. Damn, I was expecting to see a Rolex watch Nice gift nevertheless, I would be happy to receive a gen box
