  1. Here's the thread: PO clasp repair
  2. Incredible! That just happened to me yesterday on my brand new UPO 42mm! Search up on a tutorial by Pugwash, that also happened to him on his UPO when he first bought it. However if I have to do what he did with his, I'm f*cked.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum! All of the watches advertized here are more or less are built at a very good quality level. The finishings on the MBK are legendary here in the rep world, and they are well known for that. The noob subs (and other models) are also known for their very good quality. I don't know much about the Breitling model you mentioned, but I'm sure Breitling enthusiasts will point out that they're also made well. Regarding water proofness, I have worn most of my watches in the shower and none of them have steamed up. Most watches are sufficiently waterproofed straight from the factory, enough for showering any way in my case. I've never worn a chronograph watch in the shower however and I'm not sure if its recommended due to the pushers, maybe other members here can elaborate on that. In terms of build, most watches if taken care of will last for many years, as they're built just as well as regular gens you can buy from outlets. Movement wise its a hit or miss, theres a huge issue now on whether or not movements advertized as ETA are actually ETA or clones, and we have yet to find out how good these clones are.
  4. Theres actually a thread on here where a member here was scammed by Lvmonia. He bought a SMP and he received a different product to the one that was advertized (a much poorer quality product). When he returned it back for a refund the seller (Lvmonia) claimed to not have received the package and the member lost money. I agree with By-Tor, the dealers here are trusted in the sense that they do deliver their product, you will most likely find the higher quality replicas through them and most of the time the product is exactly as advertized... In saying this however, there are definitely dealers outside of here that are trustworthy and provide high quality products, and can be found if research is undertaken..
  5. Looks like you guys had fun Love the pictures, and thats quite a hoard you guys had there!
  6. Owners of the Asian version, what is the overall quality like? Does this one look exactly the same as the ETA version? (ie. using the same case, dial and bracelet?)
  7. Lanikai, at the moment I am in a similar position as you. I have bought a MBK Nautilus, and I have a feeling that once the watch arrives, I will like the watch so much that I'm going to sell off almost all my collection. It is definitely hard deciding whether one stays or goes, and I even have the same thoughts as you on certain pieces, "This is my only Panerai" or "but this is my only Omega, or this my only Rolex". etc. However I've decided now that the deciding factor will be overall build quality, rather than the prestigeness or uniquness of the model replicated, and from what I've heard about the MBK Nautilus, it wins hands down in this department.
  8. Very nice Pugwash Now if only you could take one like that with a Rolex
  9. I've decided I must have a PO in my permanent (downsized) collection. I'm going for a 42mm as the 45mm is just too big and clumsy for me. I originally wanted the black bezel and white marker version but I'm thinking it just looks too common and plain. So I'm thinking of either going for the sporty Orange bezel/Orange markers, or Black bezel/Orange markers version. To help me decide, I'm requesting members to post their pics of either version, 42 or 45mm.. doesn't matter Come on guys, let's get this rolling
  10. I just deburred the sharp edges (very quickly) using an ink eraser, oiled the bracelet using baby oil, and appliex car wax to the bracelet (4 coatings), rinsed it all out, and I must say, the bracelet feels and looks 10 times better! Also the satin finish is all there, the car wax is very mild and just brightened up the strap a bit, while giving it a silky smooth feel!
  11. I've read some posts by By-Tor where he and others too state that using car wax on oyster bracelets gives it a very nice smooth and silky feel, it also midly polishes it too because car wax is only mildly abrasive. I've got some Turtlewax car wax, on the bottle it states its mildly abrasive enough to remove oxidation. I was wondering if using this will alter the very nice satin finish on the Noob bracelet, because those who know about Noob bracelets know that it's one of the best available in terms of finish
  12. Gens don't and good reps don't either. I have owned one with that bottleneck effect, the rest have had good crystals. I think its got something to do with the thickness of the crystal which is causing that effect.
  13. Supplements on a large scalre are nothing much more than a huge marketing ploy. If you ever read bodybuilding magazines, take a note of how many supplement adverts you see, where Ron Coleman states he uses X protein powder, or Jay Cutler states he uses Y supplement to get cut... The supplement companies get these big names to endorse their products, hoping that guys just starting out (and even experienced fitness enthusiasts fall for it too) will spend their hard earned money on these things. As Mentalist pointed out, they are just supplements and definitely no substitute for a clean diet. At most, they will only make a 5-10% difference ASSUMING your training, nutrition and lifestyle are in order.
  14. A forum friend of mine who has bought several watches from Idolreplicas has been very satisfied with his service, and speaks very good of him. Most of the watches he received were exactly as pictured, and the ones which had problems etc. he was able to return them for a refund or exchange with no problems whatsoever. I would recommend Idolreplicas based on this, and several other happy customers here have praised Idolreplicas. I would be very confident to say that is the Omega SMP you will receive (its a common SMP rep IMO and not difficult to get hold of). The Silix one is the more accurate version, and from what I've seen in the pictures, well made too.
  15. No problem man! The one on idolreplicas, theres one particular factory who makes that one. A dealer named WBK sells it on the other boards and its popularly known as the 'WBK SMP' The immediate tell on this one is the green colored lume (inaccurate) and the text "300m/ 1000ft" is oversized. This rep is popular as a beginner SMP and many own one. It is very good for the price (WBK sells them for $100) and as is the case with most reps, only watch enthusiasts will be able to spot flaws with any rep, most will pass as gens to common folks, including this one The Silix one, I have seen it in pictures other members have posted here, and a forum friend who owns a gen has told me it is VERY GOOD. So if you are after more accuracy, and the smooth sweeping hand (28,800 bph) go for the Silix one IMO. However be prepared to accept that the movement might not be Swiss ETA as advertized, but either a clone movement or a hybrid movement using asian and ETA parts.
  16. Welcome to the forum Nice choice, you can't go wrong with the Bond SMP! I've owned the idolreplicas one (though it wasn't purchased from him) but many have bought from him, he's a safe dealer. The Silix version, though more expensive, I've been told is one of the most accurate SMP's available. It beats at 28,800 bph (smooth sweep), it has the more accurate dial, bezel and the bracelet is better. Even though most dealers advertize their watches with 'swiss ETA' movements, we've been finding that some of them are in fact ETA clones, (or copies) so bear this in mind if you decide to purchase the Silix version. Most ETA clones are well made according to what I've read and the only problem with them really is replacement parts should anything go wrong, or perhaps servicing the movement. Hope that helps
  17. This has been bugging me for a while now. I'm sure its one of those plainly obvious answers, but I can't figure out how you tell the time on this watch!! The bottom sub-dial is a seconds dial (I'm sure of it).
  18. Agreed with all the comments above, awesome post. Thanks for writing it up!
  19. I just checked Andrew's site. The wrong handstack 'Swiss ETA' version is $298, and the 'Asian ETA' version is $198. So the price of a risky CHS which some members have already experienced problems with cost a $100... This is leading me to think that those who waited for the incorrect handstack to come out made a wise decision.
  20. Wouldn't have thought he's a Rollie fan Anyone seen the movie? How was it?
  21. Beautiful watch, lets just hope the CHS lasts as long as it should.
  22. Date mag is a bit off indeed I don't think we can ever understand the thinking of the CN rep factories. At times they bring out amazing reps, and other times they f*ck them up!
