  1. it worked.....thanks for the help this one was a little stiffer than i'm used to.
  2. i assume to pull the stem in time setting position. correct?
  3. how do i release the stem? i found what i thought is the release button but it does not seem to move. i'm afraid to try and press too hard and jack the keyless works. here is some photos and i circled what i think to be the release. can someone confirm? any instruction on removing and reinstalling the stem without damaging anything would be appreciated! thanks
  4. neil these are amazing! my wife is going to have a bone to pick with you for getting me started with ANOTHER collection
  5. apply masking tape to the surrounding case before you try and pry it off. or just get a bezel puller.
  6. well, first i go to install a high cannon pin in my fiddy (latest from EL) and find it already has the long cannon pin added at the factory! yet it has a bigger recess than the previous version! seems they heard they need a longer cannon pin but they must be trying to copy the recessed pin look of the other reps by using hands with longer tubes! if you cut down the hand tubes a bit they fix the recess. or just get a hands set from davidsen! found the same was true on the next in my collection for upgrades (231) had the long cannon pin too! cut the hands....fixed! i compared my high cannon pin sets and the factory pins measured exactly the same! seems most the newer 6497 based pams are fitted with the correct cannon pin but even worse hand sets will they ever get it right? calling davidsen for more hand sets now
  7. i'd send them all
  8. looks really good and has a great movement! seagull lemania venus whatever it's a good reliable one that should last for years. Josh is a great guy to do business with. he will give you better service than your AD will
  9. loks great! and yes........davidsen is awesome
  10. the hour hand will touch the seconds hand when sitting flat.......all i can think of is maybe i reinstalled the old cannon pin by mistake! maybe thats why the old pin from the fiddy was so long compared to what came out of the PVD........i'll get another cannon set and compare and see if i can get it right. the recessed pin is definatly gone.......waaaay gone! but the hands sit a little low.
  11. your basic asian fiddy will be around $200 while the high grade are $300+......if you want al the upgrades so you can convince yourself.......$600+
  12. it's got the long cannon set installed. i'll tear it down an get the hands angle set right.
  13. here is the latest of my projects......1:1 swiss swanneck fiddy with davidsen's hand set and cannon pin set fixed+superlume and A/R sapphire on a bob strap..it's incredible . and my first PVD...minutes after it arrived to me i added a sandwich dial and a real swiss 6497 + the cannon pin that came out of the fiddy was much longer than the standard one in the PVD 004 so i swapped that into the new movement and shaved the minute hand to fix this cannon pin too also added a BOB strap. i have not seen a PVD with a sandwich dial and i don't know if a gen exists but i always thought it would look good so here you go!
  14. 183......must just be a little tight hate to foce things......thanks for the help
  15. this is one of the best replicas i've seen yet! much better than MBW rolex for sure. not quite sure if i like the watch yet.....it will have to grow on me. it is SUPER heavy and has that "gen" feel to it
  16. does the movement remove from the back like all the 44mm luminors or from the front like the fiddy? i should know this......i swear the last one i did came out the back but i have one the movement seems stuck from the back and i don't want to mess with the bezel unless i have to.
  17. should be about 50/50 soon. gen collection is growing fast
  18. gen...
  19. i was just sharing these with dutchy so i thought i'd share my latest with you guys new GMT new SMP
  20. the pins are attached to the links. just pull them apart once unscrewed. the bezel can be tightened with the set screws.
  21. that's the funniest thing i've seen all day it's a gen too!
  22. i can never get that right either....pops out of whack every time! can someone PLEASE do a pictorial instruction how to safely remove and replace the stem without jacking the keyless works???? PLEASE!!! i can only do work on unitas untill i figure this out!
  23. i cut a piece of an extra keyless works cover i had on my 2892 skeleton. "forks" around the hour wheel and screwed into the keyless cover. works great! you will have to get creative and fabricate a piece.
  24. use mink oil.....gives a dark patina and a super silky feel.
