Here's one: watch-ebay Not something I would buy, but I have heard the seller is an honest one. Maybe the band fits the current "good" rep?

I know nothing about guitars, I just wanted to butt in with: Rock on!

That was quite a wait huh? I almost got the shakes! I liked your radioactive Radiomir Victoria. Freddy, my "other" replica is a 1958 Porsche Speedster, and the dash is it's most glaring flaw. Here's what it's supposed to look like: And here are some bad shots of the car right after it came back from paint. I guess I need to take some better ones since I might have to sell it: -
Great comparison; very informative. This is why when it comes to Panerai I am going to get the best one I can afford right off the bat--I know those little flaws are going to drive me crazy even if I am the only one who would ever know. Congrats on aquiring a gen, but I don't want to do that! I have been aware of the Panerai brand for a few years but never wanted one untill I started hanging around here.

Still only have one rep to play with, I guess it fits me better than her. This patience thing is killing me! -
My dork talks to me too. Victoria, I work in medical device R&D. I'm not a real doctor.

I was thinking of ordering the UPO that comes with the rubber strap installed; have people had the same problems with those models? If a better strap is in the works I guess I should order it on a bracelet and wait it out. Those straps look pretty rough in the pics but from searching it seems most are happy with the quality once they get it to fit, right?

Threadjacked at knifepoint! Watch out for Chinese replicas with laser etched Damascus pattern...

Admittedly I've had no experience (with watches anyway) but in the case of reps I would prefer a used one to a new one: 1) It has actually been seen by the person selling it (not dropshipped) 2) It has already been through Customs 3) Chance of faster shipping 4) Might be a bit scratched, but I will probably scratch it worse as I intend to wear it, so at least I won't obsess about it if its pre-scratched 5) Cheaper 6) Modded? 7) Recycling is good for you

I never bothered to look up the "real" 6910, but I do wear this thing pretty often while I'm patiently waiting for my proper reps. So here it is: Mine is pretty close to gen, n'est-ce pas? Real---><---Not real. I borrowed this image for better dial detail; it has a better date layout than mine. This was a gift, from a friend who knew I was into Porsches. Gotta love that bonus 12:00 WTH hand, which moves (sometimes) when you push the upper chrono button. And the crooked red rotor sticker is really inspired. And the 6:00 double WTF indicator! A lot of work went into making this thing "special". Right now it's the only rep I have and it's my biggest watch (47mm case, 51mm inc. crown), so I wear it. Plus the gen is $100K, talk about diminishing returns.

Sorry about the cameraphone; this one of my many watches that will be locked in a drawer forever when my reps arrive. Colorful, no?

If you follow the Aeropress instructions (2 scoops fine ground plus hot water up to the #2 line), you get espresso. You really don't want to put more water through it to get an Americano.

Nice. Reminded me of this site: Engrish.com -
Fake Ti ts: My P'6910 in all it's glory. Actually the fake Ti finish looks exactly like real titanium.

I do have an art background, and when I was partner in a small gallery modern art was the reason I went to work everyday. I still don't like Silbersteins; mainly because they look like a caricature of a "modern art watch". It just always struck me as something Dieter would wear on Sprockets. Still, as you say it is a matter of taste, and I do admit that a fancy watch collection is, in part, my attempt to be fashionable. I would like to think that an Ice Bang would suit me and my personal style, maybe a Rondo GMT suits you just as well. Oh, and I got your art watch right here:
-
I get it. A squiggle, a triangle, some primary colors and it's modern art on your wrist.
-
Weird. OK then, rep the Ulysse Nardin Freak, that would be fun. Who wears those Silbersteins anyway? They remind me of the plastic jewlery my sisters wore in 4th grade.
-
The Diagano looks really nice in the magazine ads but seems cheap looking on the dealer sites. Does that make sense? Maybe if I saw it in person. Don't they look happy together?
-
Retail for the watch, sadly, yes (I think it was $200+, has a dead battery ATM). The ring, heck no! I got lucky there, a friend sourced the loose diamond and we took it to a jeweler she uses for custom work. The cost of raw platinum was nuts but overall I did OK. I asked him to copy this photo but he ended up making it even more modern looking, thicker with sharper edges.

Victoria, I knew you were going to hook me up! I'm having a hard time picturing her wearing those. Here's the watch I bought her a while back that she likes: And her engagement ring is custom made but based on this style: BTW, #2 is, in fact, an Omega. And I guess the Assioma is a bit fey; but I thought it was the least fruity of the Bvlgaris I've seen. Wouldn't do gold.

Sharp! Too bad the bezel is so expensive, but it seems most buyers find it worth the cost. Has anyone broke one or bought one that didn't fit?

My girlfriend is really getting sick of my watch fetish. All I really wanted was a decent SMPO (big size), I was *this* close to ordering the genuine article from an AD I know, and then I had to go and join RWG. Now I am debating what flaws I can live with on a PAM (probably none), itching for an Aquatimer, sniffing around for a watch winder, etc., etc.. Since I stretched my spending money a little thin during the holidays, I didn't go on a buying rampage yet. Instead I'm biding my time and planning a small collection that I'll probably order all at once. The budget is close to what I would have spent on the gen PO. I'm sure I'll end up spending (lots) more, but this should keep me happy for a while. I would have liked to choose one great dealer and order the whole shebang, but it doesn't look like thats possible. Must-Have List: These are for everyday work and play. They need to pass as gens in an upscale environment, not among experts but people used to serious bling. 1) Ice Bang Lite (with an AR job in its future) 2) UPO Black/White with bracelet+rubber strap (Mr. Bond's Omeeega) 3) Panerai (something big on thick brown leather with a sandwich dial--I like the 1950 but it might be too rare to be realistic) "Dress" watch: This would be worn with a suit, needs to be fairly believable but doesn't have to be perfect. It has to be BIG; I have an 8.25" wrist and large hands. 1) Cartier Santos 100, Bvlgari Assimo, Breitling Flying B, Patek ?, Cartier Roadster Chrono (the crown looks weird to me without the chrono pushers) or something else.. not sure yet. 2) None, one "dressy" watch is enough for me. "Tool" watch: This one is easy, I love the S.W.A.T. team look. I don't really care if it's super accurate. 1) BR-01 Phantom. I know the good one isn't here yet so... 2) El Cheapo BR-01 a la Canal Street to tide me over and see how it wears. Peace Offering: My girl is not into watches, jewelry, or name brands (she likes her Forever 21 jeans better than her Rock&Republics) but her friends will notice a fancy timepiece for sure. Her watch needs to look good on a tiny wrist, look good with trendy jeanswear, and look "real" as possible. 1) Hermes, Cartier, Montblanc, Bvlgari, ? Other: 1) IWC Aquatimer "Slevin". I really can't justify buying it but it's growing on me, I wish there was a lite version or something. 2) AP ROO T3. I think I'd be happy with a budget version of this, probably wouldn't get much wrist time anyway. I know the current reps ain't even close but who's going to know? Guilty pleasure. 3) TAG Gulf Monaco and/or Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL; something to wear when I am pretending to be a 50's racer. Any thoughts or suggestions?
-
Anyone know what the size is supposed to be; seems like the current reps run a little smaller than gen.
-
Well, that settles it for me. To clarify; this is the Ice Bang Lite, right?
