This would seem a reasonable start to doing things in this hobby. Where can I buy such tools and what tools would you suggest? Thanks! Any other basic tool suggestions are welcome as well. Brightight Posted November 13, 2009 Report Share Posted November 13, 2009 Absolute minimum you need a decent set of Jewellers Screwdrivers. It's not worth scrimping on these in my opinion, get the best you can afford. Hand remover and hand setting tool, definitely a pair of decent tweezers (practice with them, it's worth it) and a loupe or two. It's also worth getting some boxes to hold the parts you remove. And a movement holder is extremely useful. Some non powdered rubber gloves or finger cots to avoid marking anything, and some Rodico cleaning putty. Oh and you will need a rubber ball case back remover. Finally you may want to get a small bracelet pin remover though to be honest I've used mine twice in two years. Where to get them depends on where you are. Most are available from ebay, though I would buy the screwdrivers from a watch tools and parts supplier. If you are starting from scratch, I would say you'd need: -An assortment of jeweler's screwdrivers -#2 tweezers -Caseback tool/wrench -Bergeon #6 hand puller -Bergeon hand setting tool -Pithwood -Rodico -Dust blower -Finger cots -Dial protector -Movement pad Check out Watchbitz here on the forum (offshore). Recommended set of tools for a flawless job (with some experience): caseback opener case vise set of screwdrivers movement holder soft lint free work pad finger cots bergeon 6938 protector presto hand remover nylon tip hand press rodico or rub off spring bar remover blower bulb and a set of tweezers thats a pretty serious kit that can acomplish most common jobs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
