Agrippa Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 YMMV - your mileage may vary, or in other words - "this is my experience, but for all I know your experience may be entirely different".

mastrmindalliance Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Isn't SDDS the dyslexic counterpart to DSSD? Sea-Dweller Deep Sea Actually IME (in my experience) SDDS (Sea Dweller Deep Sea) is how it's referred to in the real world, because that its real name. I've heard this at the AD and the reputable vintage/second hand seller. (Langfords and BVW for the Aussies reading). On topic, after much reading i still haven't worked out what "DSN" stands for...? Oh, and here's a couple "OT" is off-topic and "OP" means original poster (the thread starter).
Agrippa Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 "OP" means original poster (the thread starter). Either that, or "original (first) post" of the thread. As in "read the f*cking OP before you f*cking post, why don't ya!", when someone jumps in at page 14 of the discussion, without seemingly having a clue what's being discussed.
omni Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Rarely used but still relevant as an "insider's" joke code: TRL = thin red line, as in sticker on the back of some watch cases.
Demsey Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 On topic, after much reading i still haven't worked out what "DSN" stands for...? Davidsen. Panerai modder, jobber, guru.

Nanuq Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Rarely used but still relevant as an "insider's" joke code: TRL = thin red line, as in sticker on the back of some watch cases. Say, Omni, is that a Thin Red Line you're asking about? (good LORD that was a hilarious thread!)
offshore Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 This still needs to be pinned, but I'm not empowered to do it. Mods please? O/S
