I logged into RWG 1.1 and honestly, I think that place gives pay porn sites a run for its money. Want a sure fire way to get fired from your job? Browse RWG 1.1 for 10 minutes with avitars and sig's displayed. And yeah, I turn off avitars and signatures and all that. Truth is, I don't want to have to do that here. I dont want to have to read RWG in codemode, where my screen looks like this- funny it's identical to my screen .. exactly.. its a screenshot. Really cool if you've never done it before. Just hit the Prt Scr (print screen) button on your keyboard. Its up top right, a little past the F12 key. Now paste into your paint program. Its a picture of your screen! voila! If you and the community feel I am more of a detriment in what I do.. then I will gladly step down..the reality for me is .. it is my responsibility that "I" accepted, to raise the funds to keep us here.. but without the members who support this line of thought.. it would be in vain.. and if this has created a downward spiral at RWG then point the finger at me and only me. buy a rep.. do the review.. and tell me it is not for ALL.. and you have not given back to ALL members.. donate a watch for raffle.. and tell me you have not given back to all members... answer 15 pms a day for ALL members regarding info.. and tell me we cater to just the few.. and no one else feels welcomed.. if you can do all this day in and day out.. then you have grounds for a real argument .. a company I worked for once.. had a "wear my shoes" day.. where we would perform the task of other departments.. enlightening,.. to say the least.. "wear my shoes" was something that a lot of us took as a good lesson when it came to critiquing others that we could not "feel".. so the next time you buy a rep.. spend a couple of days taking pics and researching ... posting... and come back and tell me you did it just for supporters.. I say this not with animosity... but with sincere faith that you will not feel that you have done it just for supporters..conversely we need to keep building funds for our usage.. maybe the means justify the end?? I think it is just ridiculous to state that Lani has "muscled" any reputation here. Lani gives more dedication and time to this fora than most and I for one truly appreciate his reviews and insights on watch collecting. I have asked him on several occasions to tell us more about one of his watches, or show some macros and he has done it on every occasion. In fact, his review on the Swiss vs Asian SuperOcean SteelFish was what made me decide to buy one of my favorite watches. He didn't muscle anything IMO. He's just an all round nice guy. I'm neither being obtuse not sarcastic.. but we do need members to not only be supporters.. but to get involved with getting on the raffle team.. we have members that are involved above and beyond know.. when I was in the hospital the first thing I did when they wheeled me into ICU was to call Ubi and ask that he take over the raffle..Toad conscientiously, chimes in on the raffle thread due to our time zones.. there a lot of members who pm me with offers of watches or donations to keep us here.. there is so much more we can do .. but need the manpower to do it.. anyone that wants to get involved.. TJ.. is working on a rep for donation.. there is alot of things going on that you are not aware of.. what your see on the boards is just the tip of the iceberg.. As an observer and reader of the forum, I can not say that I have felt that anyone has been treated more or less than others. I think this forum is one of the most helpfull and kind forums I have ever been on. But I have never demanded anything, and I will never do either. I might ask questions and I'm happy when someone answers me. One lesson I think most have learned, that have been into rep watches for at least a couple of years. Things take time, thats how it is. The dealers are not retailers we can visit whenever we like. If something takes half a year or one year to complete, then that's what it takes. Dealers can improve, I'm not saying to put up with insane deliveries, but to be fair this is not really trademark products. And one can choose whom to buy from. When I order a watch I do not start asking questions before at least 25 days has gone by. If one can not live with this, then I suggest one starts collecting something more available, like flowers in the wood or rocks at the beach. If someone privatly states that he will help you, then there are no deadlines if you ask me. When someone is active on a forum and gets involved, it's up to you to follow up and do the same kind of work to show a different side of the coin if you feel the need. By just criticizing, there are no lessons learned. If you feel that something needs to be showed differently, then show me the difference. You can however compliment someone of their work without the need to explain. Most of the 23205 members have different backgrounds and/or different cultures, but everyone knows what a compliment is. I was not going to get involved, but I just feel people are expecting a little bit too much sometimes.
