FxrAndy Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Some like IWC are too technical, some are so fixed at 800pixel with lit is like going back through time and some are so flash incentive they are slow to load on slower connections (like the rolex site) Some have massive buy it now buttons that says to me we just want you cash we dont care (which probably true) What do you guys think, who has the best site all round. Up to date, modern, quick to load with the right information.
Ronin Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I can't stand the Flash based, or artistically overdone pages. That said, I think my favorites are: Doxa MkII Panerai I will give Breitling a nod ONCE you get to the product, it is cool to play with the strap/braclet combos. Keep it simple!
hiker01 Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Rolex! Check out all the free downloads!
PeteM Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 To be honest I have never found one I liked, there are some with good aspects to the site but overall I find them more about selling the image or the kudos of the brand rather than showing enough of the watches. I am not criticising them for it afterall thats why most people buy the big brands. I prefer the high grade used sellers, there pics are better the info short and sweet and no frills to sift through. But if I had to pick one it would be Omega mainly because you can access archive stuff on models serial numbers and movements.
valerian Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Longines! She's the perfect site design! Val.
FxrAndy Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Doxa took my eye quite well, very to the point
valerian Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Doxa took my eye quite well, very to the point OK, seriously now. The Doxa site reflects the tool character of their watches quite well. Me, I'm a fool romantic. I like Jacquet-Droz, very playful and also reflecting the image of the brand very well. Whaddaya think? Val.
Pugwash Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 The Omega site isn't too bad, but I've not found a watch site that I would hold up as an example of good website design. Ok, so I've worked in the web industry for over a decade and may be too picky, but still.
opti Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) They are all pretty sucky, but Breitling and Longines are the better ones Edited February 5, 2010 by opti
nakortheblue Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Anything that I cannot read on the iPhone suck... Or is it the iPhone that sucks?
Bike Mike Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Used to like Jaeger-LeCoultre when they used to show clips of extreme sports like Skydiving and Snowboarding. Breitlings site has munch improved with their new release.
jeff g Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I like the Patek-Phillipe site. Talk about upscale?
alt.watch.obsessive Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Jaeger 'cause it has that video that lets you know how to pronounce the friggin name
iceberg1459 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 bretiling site is very cool! but too bad i couldnt find any track list =(
Ronin Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Anything that I cannot read on the iPhone suck... Or is it the iPhone that sucks? That would be the whole lack of "Flash" support thing...that will soon be plaguing the iPad. On that note, the worst Gen sites are the Flash heavy sites.
Eton Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 I like Breitling, Panerai, Rolex...but they're all good in their own right...unfortunately flash can be overkill and makes viewing them a pain!
