New pics and small review of my new Sub

I picked this up from a trusted dealer on another forum. It was god awful cheap and I am very pleased with it. It has a 21j movt and runs a little slow with the usual noisy rotor. I plan on fixing both when time provides.

Flaws:

- pin that holds the fliplock in place is too long

- triangle where the pearl is is not symetrical.

- I don't think the cyclops is centered 100%

- insert needs to be sanded down

All in all I am really pleased. It doesn't need to be perfect for me since it will be a beater or my gf will wear it. Now the pics (these are quick pics and I am no photog expert)

Pretty much all reps have waaay too fat crowns, I for the life of me can't figure out why they do this. You should be able to get a tube from Yuki for $12/shipped and a good used gen crown off fleabay for $30 - $50... Other than that, not too bad for a beater! 8)

will a 24-703 crown work?

SN-M092117, it's a noob. I thought they were using decent crowns and tubes these days, but not on this model. I worked on one this week and on these older models the crown and tube aren't interchangeable with the gen crown and tube- so if you swap out the crown, you gotta do the tube also.

you will need to swap out the tube for a 24-7030

is this a noobmariner?

the rehaut engraving does not align with the hask marks

the hash marks around 'swiss made' on the dial are incorrect for a sub post f serial (this being an M or V serial).

sand the engravings off the rehaut, polish and youre already way ahead. i have no idea why the factories would even bother with the engraving, who cares, and it ruins a good rep with additional flaws.

I have read it might be but I can't confirm it is a noobmariner.

The fliplock pin isnt too long, its coming apart.

Its a tube with two round pins that push in from the sides. If it gets any "longer" it will come apart and you will lose the watch.

get a jewellers hammer and lightly tap those ends back in so they are slightly snug without the flip lock binding.

Thanks Dizzy! A few strokes of the hammer and both clasps are more secure. Darn shame it would run around $800 for two Rollie clasps. Might have to start looking, I plan on my Exp II to be a keeper.
