coolfire
And the 6542 craze continues: Alone at home and searching for stuff on ebay I came across this gen 6542 mid case: I just bid thinking that somebody is gonna bid a lot more anyway, but ended up winning the auction, so now I am stuck with a Franken project that will probably bankrupt me. Where to get a case back? And the one correct crown I saw was almost $400 ............... arghhhh. Saw this one last nite as well. Yeah, may go for some money which may bankrupt me as well, E. I'm still searching high and low for a proper datewheel to fit the 2846.
donerix
Received the gen mid case and since I still had Serge's watch (I was literally already on the way to the post office to ship it out) I couldn't resist to compare the two: A few differences, but all in all not too shabby. Also tried on some of the PT parts on the gen case: -caseback fits perfect -Clark T-116 fits, but then the NDT bezel assambly is a bit loose, might work with the gen crystal which is a bit thicker -bracelet doesn't fit, big gap between endlinks and case -PT dial is about 1mm too small to fit, but I bet the InGod dial will fit. -my gen datejust crown fits, but I really want a 6mm Brevet Money-sucking Franken-project here I come
dluddy
The PT case stacks up pretty well against the Gen E. This is a future project for me as well as it is one of my all-time favorite Rollies. I got my 5513 Gilt meters first dial from Ingod about 3 years ago before he became more known. Great work on Serge's piece
alligoat
E, check out CousinsUK- they have two sizes for the 116 crystal- ID on both is 28.9mm but OD is 30.0 on the smaller one and 30.2 on the larger one. but cyclops position is different. Might want to check their Rolex cyclops page in their catalog.
donerix
lAligoat: Thanks for the tip. Probably cheaper then the gen 116, but if I find one reasonably priced I might still go for it. Does anybody know which endlinks are the correct ones for the 6542 case?

donerix
My Yuki rivet purports to be a 7206 with 80 endlinks. Would love to see if it fits the gen case. That would sure save me some money, gen bracelets are like $800+
lhooq
Would love to see if it fits the gen case. That would sure save me some money, gen bracelets are like $800+ E: The Yuki 7206 should really be your first stop for the 6542, as it's the most accurate aftermarket bracelet out there. The only downside is its problem with accepting 2mm springbars.
donerix
Yes, I just looked it up. There is one customer who managed to get gen spring bars in there. I am gonna order one and find out
