denisegold Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Smoking hot. Only interested if I can either order w/2893 or transplant one into this case.
Ronin Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Finally!!! A 029 with bold white date wheel!
PeteM Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Hopefully it is still to be tweaked going by the comments on PT
slask111 Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 Seems you can get swizz movement as well
prdubis Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Swiss 2836 I guess :-( --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.576624,1.484920
lala Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 always been hesitant to get a pam with a date wheel and cyclops hard to fix the issues on these 2 areas
Noel Fleischer Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 I'm not grooving on those green indices. I think the gen does have a greenish tinge, but not that strong. PAM experts.... what do you think?
panermaniac Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 LOVE LOVE LOVE that case! Not sure about the indices though...
StormTooper4 Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Has the Gen Hextube & RB-CG?? Yep
rolli Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 swiss 2893-2 gmt will work, maybe a gmt hand tube mod. rolli
dutchguy2 Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 The only Pam beside a Submersible I ever wanted! Just placed a pre order!
senator Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 mission impossible > GMT Hand swiss 2893-2 gmt will work, maybe a gmt hand tube mod. rolli
StormTooper4 Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 I just don't understand what the issue with movement is? I know the gen has 2893/2 but what's wrong with the standard movement? Why stress about something you can't see. Seems a strange criteria if it prevents you from having what looks to be a great watch. Seems a bit cutting nose off despite face
PeteM Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I think the main reason is the fact you cant adjust the GMT hand as per the gen... But other than that mate you are right
panermaniac Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I totally agree with you too stormtrooper... well said, except for this.. cutting nose off despite face the saying is; "to spite the face"
StormTooper4 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I totally agree with you too stormtrooper... well said, except for this.. the saying is; "to spite the face" DUH quick Blackberry response Slow old duffers brain
StormTooper4 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I think the main reason is the fact you cant adjust the GMT hand as per the gen... But other than that mate you are right So Pete in what way is it not like the Gen? Forgive my ignorance but its not like the CHS rolex GMT's , I've had a A21J versions of GMT's and even they were ok , Date changes if you move Crown anti-clockwise & moves GMT hand if you move it clockwise.. is it the GMT hand moving rather than the hour hand ? 1
ebzen02 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Hopefully they tone down the green indices and fix the 9!
PeteM Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Hi ST On the gen the GMT or correct 2893 hand can be moved by turning crown upwards in first setting (Date setting) the hand clicks round on the GMT hour points (minute markers) this rep just moves around like the hour hand... its a faux setting for the GMT hand ... so to speak.. Ebzen - A lot of guys with the gen are saying this lume is accurate for this rep....both uncharged and charged.... I agree it looks off to me too... but these guys are knowedgeable and reliable so I take their word for it
dutchguy2 Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 If you check the video on PT's site you can see that the lume is actually spot on!
Jurgenk Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Owning a number of 2836 with GMT modification I can say that the GMT hand jumps in hourly increments. I will say that this has also failed requiring repair and that the jump was noticeably less crisp when having issues. The watchmakers aren't fond of 2836 GMT reliability and this makes sense from my experience. 2893 GMTs are rock solid and should be able to fit this case, but I don't know if hands will... ebzen02 Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Perhaps, I just don't like the green markers, gen or rep... .. But, the 9 is still off..just saying..Anyhooo... I like the tritium look of the 29a best-- but that is besides the point
Dani Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I think it looks amazing, Hope to have some spare cash for this
