gran Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Timekeeping: Linde Werdelin SpidoLite SA http://gearpatrol.com/blog/2009/10/21/linde-werdelin-spidolite-sa/ Cost:$12,000 Looks really great and whats better it is powered by a vintage 1970′s A.S Caliber 1876 movement that’s been modified by Svend Andersen (hence, the “SA”). Svend Andersen is my favorite horologist (and he is a true whoreologist too making all those erotic automatons)
txcollector Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 for the price I'd rather get an AP.
TeeJay Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Absolutely love it My .2c (US, of course ) would be to have luminous markers for each hour, not just the cardinals, and hands more like the Tudor Heritage, rather than the skeleton version, but other than those details...
subbiesrock Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Great piece, great workmanship and an unusual movement.
maxman Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Kind of gives me that Hublot vibe...sandwich style case and all.
maulermacall@hotmail.com Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I'd be concerned about all the dirt and crud that'll build up in the recessed parts of the bezel and case. Other than that and the price, the cartoon comic advertising that's used puts me off the brand.
miagi Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 i can appreciate the craftmanship thats gone down in this watch, but i would never buy it for the 12k $ price tag... too much of other much better choices for a watch in that category.. like txc said, thats AP money.
HartDoc Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I not feeling them either. I never ever heard any WIS claiming to own or have own one.
ExtraExtra Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Nah....you can see design points from several brands and mashed together in this watch. They have to come up with their own.
ubiquitous Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I find it to be an interesting blend of old meets new. Sort of an odd conundrum mixing a 1970's movement with such a modern design for the case. I can appreciate it for what it is and represents, but not sure I could or would ever want to own one...
prb Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Wow, I'm surprised how many people dont like the design. I had the feeling most of the gen world was very enthusiastic about the design (see Fratellowatches, aBlogtoRead etc). I think it's a beautiful design with great details and a great impact and would pick one up ASAP if they repped it.
Star69 Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 did you ever drove by car cross Denmark on a cold winter day ? that's exactly what is LW is to me - overpriced like the Danish gas - too dark, cold and booooooring
fijikid Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I am firmly in the less is more camp and the LW folks don't seem to grasp the concept of editing. Just not a fan of complicated looking things that do simple tasks. And for 12 large, I'm definitely on the hunt for something vintage and delicious that's only going up in value like a red Sub.
lhooq Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 I actually liked the French cartoons used in the advertising! The watches... not so much.
pizzanooo Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Like the brand, but not this model. Prefer the one or 3-timer series.
burnz Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 I'm a big fan of LW. Own 2 of their watches myself (The One and Oktopus DLC). Love the unique case shape and how well it sits on the wrist. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Love the unique case shape and how well it sits on the wrist. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk The 3-timer is where it's at. The OP posted pic, not so much. I like that they made those little computers that can attach to the watch, that's a very innovative idea for a watch. The Oktopus is a great design. They have superb craftsmanship, but the comments are basically identifying an important point - they are a touch overpriced for what they are. Still, could do far worse, like the Devon TREAD1 what a [censored] monstrosity
