  1. It's a very long film at 3 hours and has excessive scenes of drug taking and gratuitous sex and nudity. I enjoyed it. Can't say I took any notice of the watches that were being worn!
  2. It's interesting to hear that others have been approached by new 0 post members wanting to buy watches. It's not as if they introduce themselves in their messeges nor do they provide any references to prove they are genuine. I don't know what the restrictions currently are on the private sales forum but maybe something like a 50 post limit before you can view could be considered?
  3. Hi I've never experienced anything like this on any other forum, I might just be to suspicious and untrusting or am I? I've posted a watch in the sales section and I recieved a fair number of enquiries, it's a nice piece so that' wasn't so unexpected. What I was suprised about was the number of brand new members with 0 posts wanting to buy it. I've been turning down there offers to buy the asking price as I don't want to run the risk of being scammed. Have any others experienced this? PS I'm sorry I've been really bad at replying to all genuine enquiries re my Tudor, I'm moving house this week and it's proving to be more exhausting that i thought!
  4. It's from Phong, Its certainly not the cheapest when it comes to Tudors but it's still much cheaper when compared to the gen that seems to be forever rising in price
  5. I received my 9401 back from PBdad just before Christmas and I've been wearing nothing else since. The creamy looking lume is just what I was looking for and I think it suits the watch perfectly. Heres a few poor pics
  6. Im so sorry. It sounds as though you are wonderful and caring uncle for your niece. I know it's a very difficult and emotional time for you all but try not to neglect yourself and if possible try not to leave something that you enjoy and which could provide a good sounding board as well as a much needed distraction.
  7. They both look fantastic. I doubt you ever will, but should you ever need to sell one please let me know :-)
  8. Hi Yes I did have the case back engraved Taken by JMB before it was vintageised (if that's a real word) The crystal JMB supplied which is a SK T19 crystal and the insert I purchase d from Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/BEZEL-INSERT-VINTAGE-ROLEX-SUBMARINER-5513-1680-/310324920042?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4840ce7eea And nope I never knew Yuki was the Japanese for snow, seems very fitting
  9. I sent JMB a MBK 1680 that Reg sourced and a few Yuki Tudor parts and after a few informative emails on how the build was progressing, here's what I received. It looks and feels incredible and I'm very pleased with how it turned it out. With all the work that was put into it I feel the overall cost was very reasonable and I'm definitely thinking about another. On the left:
  10. Does Mary have a site or do you have to email her? I could do with a couple of bracelets
  11. Hi Whilst JMB is creating for me a rather tasty Tudor build with a few bits I've collected. I found myself with a little spare cash and I needed something just to help scratch that Tudor itch.... Purchased a nice snowflake, it wasn't cheap but it wears very well and I just need to figure out how to age the insert and case. Not so sure about the vintaged looking lume. What do you think?
  12. It must be great for a football manager or tv personality to be given a free high value luxury watch. To me however it instantly puts me off a brand that dishes out freebies to those in the public eye and expects the public to cough up $$$$$'s. I used to like Bremont, however all the lavish corporate events they started to sponsor and the not that well known personalities sporting their latest free watches started to leave me cold.
  13. Nice choice. It's good to be a bit different. Must have cost some serious
  14. Sorry for the daft question. But who is TC? I'm aware and have used most of the trusted dealers here but I'm stumped as to who this is. I think I want one of these subs!
  15. An excellent suggestion and something I hadn't considered before. I think this it what I'll do as I don't have the patience, time or real understanding for a project build. I may keep hold of the Yuki parts but the MBW I'll be posting for sale shortly. All I need to do is figure out how the serial numbers for Tudor subs work so I can place my order with Phong. Thanks
  16. Hi Thanks for the reply. I wonder if the Yuki 94010 caseback would fit the MBW? If not I was going to see if the existing case back could be engraved. I was planning on using a 2824-2 movement. I've had this project on the go for months, it'll be nice to finally get everything together. I'm tempted to sell my gen Omega 2531 add some extra cash and go gen before the prices go up any further.
  17. Thanks for the replies. I think I will carry on with trying to get together the parts needed for a snowflake. Does anyone know whether I could just use the PT sub ive got for the build or would it be better to use the MBW? If I went with the PT sub I'm guessing it would save a lot of work if the crown guards are already trimmed and the case is aged as i want it to have that appearance Thanks
  18. Im in need of advice. I've bought a couple of watches and a few parts from Yuki with the intention of creating a Tudor sub. However now I just want to create the best watch I can with possibley adding £500 for further parts for a semi decent franken. Now, I dont know what I should be going for, a better 1680? Do I create a Tudor? If so which case should I use or do I use the MBW sub or see if I can focus on a better vintagised white sub? It makes sense to go for a Tudor Sub and I dont really need two vintage subs, so I just need to try and make the best use out of what I've got. If any experienced watchsmiths are reading this and can help please get in touch as its a project I cant complete myself. What would you do? Heres what I've currently got: PT 1680 Clark 127 Gen Rolex triplock crown The case has been reshaped, softened and aged Crownguards trimmed Lugs drilled and insert aged ETA 2846 Recent MBW White from Reg Yuki Parts Tudor rotor Tudor oyster mercedes yellow handset Springbars Case tube Tudor Sub 9401 black white dial and handset bezel insert clark 125 crystal
  19. Could you post a pic of your 1680 please, it sounds great
  20. Pam243 is 44mm That's a great shot of the 390, I've been tempted to buy one but already have bought 3 Pams in under one month and I'm supposed to be cutting down this year!
  21. Never buy a watch for an investment especially one your not going to wear, its a big gamble for what could be a small return. I've owned a few expensive gen watches and have always found the process of selling expensive items quite stressful. Then again that's just me. Looking at the pic above though has made me realise how sexy the 187 is and I might consider getting the rep after the CNY.
  22. Hi Not really thinking about buying a PO but this caught my eye, just wanted to check it looks ok Comes with no papers, reps these days are so good just wanted to make sure Cheers
  23. I thought this was just me having an issue with IE site won't open no matter what I've tried, have to login via my IPad, RWG is the only site I have problems accessing, any advice would be most welcome with IE
  24. Thanks! Never thought getting the replacement part could be that easy, you've made my day
