  1. Not involved myself, but over on a UK watch forum some gen watches have been retrieved from Rocketeer early today. Hes had them for over a year. Might give hope to some.
  2. I agree with the numbers of strap makers out there, some crudely made and most over priced, it just encourages more people to make a few easy $'s in whats an already over crowded market. About Swiss ammo straps, I never really understood what the fuss about them was either although I do own one, yes it was expensive but it looks great with a wonderful aged and weathered appearence. It does smell but I find it strangely comforting!
  3. Hi guys, Been collecting watches for years, mostly gen but occassionaly I still like to dabble in the rep world and really enjoy RWG with its friendly and helpful memebers. Thought Id post a few pics up of my rep SM300, be interested to hear what you think as I don't really know much about the model about from a little online research. Would really fancy a well used gen vintage SM300 in the near future. Thanks for looking
  4. Might be useful, although the prices for the shops in London will be laughabley high as they can cater for those with the big city bonuses and well to do rich folk: 1. Portobello Road - Notting Hill Gate http://www.portobelloroad.co.uk Many dealers - all vintage makes. You really need to spend a few hours here as you need to go into all the arcades to see what is around and some of them have a lot of avenues to go round. Some dealers are regulars others are not. Be careful and it pays to know your stuff. ___________________________________________________________________ 2. Royal Arcade - off Old Bond Street Google: Royal Arcade Mayfair Various dealers - all vintage makes. 3. Omega Boutique - Old Bond Street Google: Omega 12 Old Bond Street London Omega's flagship AD store - new watches at list price. 4. Burlington Arcade - off Piccadilly and Old Bond Street Vintage Omega shop - http://www.omegavintage.com David Duggan - http://www.daviddugganwatches.co.uk Vintage Rolex shop - http://www.vintagewatchcompany.com and others. 1. Covent Garden - Jubilee Hall antiques market Google: Covent Garden Antique Market London A few vintage dealers - all makes, open on a Monday only. 2. Austin Kaye - The Strand http://www.austinkaye.co.uk Just around the corner from Covent Garden - all vintage makes. _____________________________________________________________________ 3. Antique Watch Co. - Clerkenwell http://www.antiquewatchcouk.com All vintage makes. 4. The Little Yellow watch shop - Clerkenwell Cross straight over the road after viewing shop 3. above, turn right and walk about 25 yards. All vintage makes. Check to see if open on a Monday 5. Gleave and Co. - Clerkenwell Google: Gleave & Co. Clerkenwell Come out of the Little Yellow watch shop turn right until you reach the traffic lights, cross over and turn right, shop is about 25 yards down on a corner. This is a watch spares shop which carries a fair stock of new Omega spares for new and vintage watches. 6. Gray's Antique Market - near Bond Street Station http://www.graysantiques.com Many dealers - all vintage makes.
  5. Theres nothing you can do apart from report him to EBAY. Happens all the time unfortunately due to sellers being to cheap to list their items with a higher starting price or with a reserve. Have a look at the Ebay discussion boards for more details. I once sold a pair of antique glasses, listed them at a starting proce of 99p. They attracted one bid of 99p and that was a bidder from Spain. Kept to my word and sent the item. I learnt my lesson!
  6. Lookms really nice and great pictures. Mine just arrived today too, for the price I dont think you could ask for much more
  7. Agree with a cheap gen. A 15 yr old with a AP or Rolex is a bit OTT at that age
  8. If you do a search on the Sales forum a White explorer 2 was for sale by Stephane. I was the lucky buyer but it'll b up for sale shorty as Im going to buy then gen.
  9. that's a timeless beauty, did you find it online?
  10. If the seller sells something no matter how small the value and who doesn't send a package insured nor keep a tracking number then they are responisble to reimburst.
  11. Get this for your uncle (i sold mine ages ago but here's the pics)
  12. As for my avatar, being American I doubt you understand irony :-). I wanted a tasteless watch that I would never have thought have been created yet be repped. Never been to Florida but I'd happily stay for a holiday, I'm off the first week in December if you'd like to pay for the flights :-) We could go clubbing. I'd love to meet Paris Hilton or Brooke Hogan!
  13. Wearing any full gold Rolex is going to draw alot of attention to the wearer. I'd be embaressed to buy and wear such a model but then that's me and I'm not your uncle. I would have thought a more understated day date style would be better and not so brash and obvivious but each to their own!
  14. This excellent thread has aroused my curiousity about building a franken day date. What would be a good base model? An MBK? Any others currently building their own then it'll be great hearing what parts you have and what you plan to do.
  15. 3rd vote for the Stealth Benarus Moray. An awesome watch at a rep price and with a complete package including a leather and rubber strap and screwdrivers, whats not to like!
  16. PVD looks good although I havent got anything to compare it to. Does scuff fairly easily, although I did wear it to the gym that didnt help Im getting the "stealth" Benarus Moray so it should be interesting to see how it compares. For the price of the DSN its a tidy watch and a good daily wearer and it helped solve my PVD fix.
  17. Hey you guys Not posted in ages. Been fortunate enough to start collecting a few gens and quality homages over the past months. As much as I enjoy other forums you cant beat the love, friendliness and knowledge of watches on a forum like RWG. Here we go with my Pams: My new arrival from DSN, I really like this although Ive in scuffed the PVD after a few wears, still I dont care, I think steriles/homages are great: My 111 recently fully serviced: My 221 also recently serviced: Group shot: Thanks for looking!

  20. I have a little one but I intend to get the sterile version. Looks great, thanks for sharing
  21. I found a diesel watch in a gym locker the other week. Suprisingly nice, I handed it into reception. I waer diesel shirts and belts and thought why not a diesel watch. Cheap and a large range of styles. If anyone can find me a link or the models name and code I'm going to get it and I'll promise lots of pics and a full review.
  22. Any chance you could post pics of the two watches? Be interesting to see them.
  23. Whilst a gorgeous watch, the BTRs in my local AD retail for approx
