  1. Im seriously thinking about getting a MM600 Spring Drive. The only trouble being they are not the sort of watch you can go into an AD and take a look at. Not sure about the bezel either. Has anyone got one?
  2. Did you activate the emergency distress alarm that sends a signal to the satelite that tracks bad quality replicas?
  3. The Seiko Springtime GMT Marinemaster looks fantastic. I love the idea of having a springtime watch after researching the movement and knowing how long it took to develop. Funnily enough I like the Submariner so much I am toying with the idea of already exchanging it for another Sub style watch, and the Seiko is growing on me.... The 16610 I purchased from Watchfinder, was four years old pre-owned but in perfect condition and I paid I think
  4. Haha that was my concern, collecting gens with the passion and drive of their comperatively cheaper reps. sSo what did you end up owning?
  5. Out of curiousity do you know how much the service will cost? Or does it depend on the work they carry out depending on any problems they find? With no disrespect to any of the watchsmiths here, if you have a genuine, Rolex an authorised RSC is the only only place Id go to for a service.
  6. Well for now im just looking.......but your probaly right! Being addicted to RWG doesnt help!
  7. I have nearly sold all my reps to fund two gens, finally I feel satisfied and no longer need to buy a new rep every month, and may actually SAVE money in the long run! Hope you enjoy the before and after pics. The 16610 I wear everyday, the Timewalker for evening or special occasions. Would you ever sell up to fund your dream gen watches? Before: After:
  8. I'll second that, Many happy returns Mickey! Did you get anything watch related for your B'day?
  9. To pull off wearing a high end timepiece: Slick your hair into a nice side parting, wear spectacles (just use frames if not a glass wearer). Have a small jumper draped around over your shoulders. Wear some nice slacks, complimented by a set of loafers minus socks. Stand upright, chest out, shoulders back and walk with a skip in your step. Complete the look with a golfers cap cocked at a jaunty angle (this is opitional as it will spoil your side parting) Ask strangers if they want to know the time so to draw attention to your chosen timepiece, failing that start conversations up with people you meet about watches and draw them into passing comments on your watch. Try this with girls if your single, you may even get a date. Follow these steps and please let me know how you get on.
  10. Getting excited about attending a local watch and clock fair that I only found out yesterday about. It might not be as grand as the Basel, but hopefully there should be a quite a few watch dealers present, giving me a chance to perhaps sell/exhange some of my gens that I no longer want. Going with another watch geek, and will be taking my camera in the hope of touching and photographing some nice watches to share with you later. Any other Southampton watch enthusiasts here (I know at least two) its on at the Novotel hotel from 1pm today.
  11. Great pics, looks as though your Rolex had a nice day out
  12. Just what I have been looking for - an affordable dual winder, thanks!
  13. Ive almost sold all my reps, now im a proud owner of a gen Rolex Submariner and a MB Timewalker. Reason against reps - poor quality control, child exploitation, contributing to an illegal trade, inaccuracies yet ever increasing prices. To me its now "quality over quantity" Now I can proudly wear a gen without feeling a little sheepish about its authenticity. Still a watch is a watch and whatever makes anyone happy
  14. Madstal, thats a stunning case! If only I had more than two watches, Id be very interested! Fine work.
  15. Mmmm looks a bit cheap looking to me, but everything is subjective
  16. I remember seeing an all green lime Rolex with matching strap from a Rolex service centre many years ago and it really made an impression on me. The lime green dial looked refreshing and cool! Im toying with the idea of ordering one and wondered if anyone has a green dialed Rolex in their collection that they could post pics of? Thanks
  17. From Urban Dictionary: The Techno Viking is a tall, muscular, charismatic, intimidating, German man that danced for the camera in [censored]parade 2000 (a techno street-parade in Berlin Germany). It is said that he has appeared in other years to follow as well. The [censored]parade developed in reaction to the music restriction (exclusion of Gabber music) and commercialization of Love Parade. Additionally, it broached the issue of the techno club "Bunker" being closed. The most played styles of music in the [censored]parade are Gabber, Speedcore, Techno, Punk, and House. The Techno Viking was made famous because of the "Kneecam" recording of a blue-haired girl dancing, then being crashed into by some unruly guy, causing the Techno Viking to snatch the guy up by his arms and shove him back where he came running from. The Techno Viking then pointed at the man and gazed with an extremely fierce glare in his eyes. An aura of fear eminated from the Techno Viking, causing the man to step down from the confrontation. The Techno Viking then started dancing wildly through the streets after being given a water bottle from one of his fans. There isnt really much to get
  18. It reminded me of a lego block too, or some plastic toy I used to have as a child.
  19. Id seriously consider purchasing that if you can afford it. Watchfinder provide an excellent service and compared to the list price, its a good deal.
  20. Not wishing to be crude, but that water looks a little like spunk, great photo all the same.
  21. I would say people come here beacuse they love watches both reps and gens. Never found a gen forum as good as this and one Id want to contribute to.
  22. I like the easy to use forums and the good sense of community here. I would like a seperate Gen section, posting pics and discussions of gen watches without having to go through the other watches section or specific brand forums which could be a mixture of both. I think it would benefit RWG a good deal.
  23. Maybe we could all club together to get the janitor a nice replacement rep. I would honestly donate a decent rep of my own to him if I thought he would receive it. Its obvious that his watch means alot to him and I dont want to think of him being putting down by arrogant asses. Right, who thinks they can track him down?! This guy deserves something just for being treated like [censored]! Sorry dani I just echoed your post - i totally agree!
