1675 Trilogy

the thesis, the antithesis and the synthesis,

This year 2012 started with the number 3. I am not a Free Mason, don't read mystic messages under my prose, in fact I will do short. I prefer photos than blabla.

I just finished the building of 3 GMT 1675, the twins are for 2 great members here, Akira's friends, and the third is for my friend Zeleni. 2 Classic CG design, and the Zeleni's one is an El Corniño replica.

With the El Corniño the challenge was to replicate a gen using mainly aftermarket parts. I didn't have the time to put together a gen and Zeleni's one and take a photo... Z was so in a hurry

Anyway, at this level of precision, don't thing it cost nothing : it cost a lot of money and time, sourcing parts, machining, fitting, its not an "out of the box Chinese rep" from .... or....

Both classic CG 1675 use gen parts : gen dials, gen tubes and crowns, gen cristals and gen inserts. The difference is enormous : cutting and machining the plexi is easy, no cracks, easy to waterproofing. Aftermarket plexies most of the time crack under pressure contraints.

Even if you don't see anything, cracks appear after a few days....

etc. etc

now pics, from the building since the delivery

The construction...

All hands are stripped

then relumed, matching with dials dots

One gen dial had serious damages. Old lume was removed, markers appear being white enamel paint

repaired ! - these dial pics looks horrible, macrozoom lense, to hard, like if you take a photo of your skin with a tele/macro medical lense...

the other one...

And now, watches are assembled

Gen inserts were slightly aged, a light discoloration, at the members request

The El Corniño insert must have an "extreme vintage look" definitety !

This year 2012 started with the number 3.

It was meant to be. You were born to it.

Very well done!

All i can say is thank you very much spending the time and effort creating such wonderful timepieces for us.

But more Important to me was communicating to a real reliable gentleman that kept his promises and worked himself like a a COSC movement. Great experience....and it showed me that you not always have to wait a year for an excellent build. Sourcing the parts was the major time consuming part whereas mr. JJ was faster as a Concorde :)

Thanks again jj

My Dad bought his first Rolex , a GMT Master, in 1954 in Zurich,Switzerland for approx. 500 Swiss Francs. It is still his daily beater.

Thanks to my friend Eiderdaus and Grand master JJ, now i got one too!.

Unbelievable the work he does. Even was able to save my dial!

My sincere thanks to both gentlemen!
