Does anybody know is the is a way to read this forum on text mode that way I will not see all that .Is not that I care is just that I am at work and is not appropriate. Regards P.D. May the Admins can tell me if this is possible..

gioarmani
Yeah, I sort of wondered about that myself (for obvious reasons), but then I thought it's not what you find on the internet at work that's wrong, it the principle of using the internet--period--at work that's wrong. No offence, ciborgman. On another board I was actually asked to remove my sig & avatar because someone didn't want their "kids seeing it while they were surfing the net on their laptop in the living room while the little ones watched TV"... I'm not even to go into the rebuttle for that kind of stupidity. You can see Adriana Lima's tight little ass in booty-shorts in Victoria's Secrets ads on CNN.com's splash-page for Christ's sake. Starbug
I love pics the guy above me always posts.. so I wouldn't want those to be disallowed.. Anyway, you should be working, not browsing internet forums.
fotoman
Surfing at work is theft. You contracted to exchange your time and labour for cash. You are in breach of contract. You are a thief. No, not true - your not a thief cause your in breach of contract. Also, your not in breach of contract for spending the time surfing the net. Under your theory, going to the bathroom is a breach and a crime. Now - Using the company's internet connection for personal use, is theft, same as borrowing stamps, copy paper or several hundred thousand dollars out of the pension fund. your stealing their bandwidth. Thts why its good to be in charge of all the IT at your office !!!! and as far as gioarmani is concerned - those aren't just random internet photos he is posting!!! I'd sell my soul to live in gioarmani's world

Pugwash
You are a thief. Whereas smuggling counterfeit goods is perfectly decent behaviour. Wtf. Clive, can you tell me in what way breach of contract is all of a sudden a criminal, as opposed to civil, offense?

eddhead
Please do! Why do you think you are entitled to? Just curious. I was and am hoping these posts were not serious, but since you asked, it is not a question of what I am or am not entittled to, but rather the judgmental nature of the posts... my relationship and performance standards with my employer are my business and my employer's business.. they are not the concern of anyone on this board. I will take care of how I go about doing my job. My employer will judge how well I do... everyone else should mind their own business.

I just thought I'd inform you I think your avatars and signatures are in exceedingly poor taste for a watch forum. I'll probably write a rebuttal to your narrow-minded post later. People like you are the reason AdBlock on Firefox is a good idea. fotoman
I should have added earlier that - recently my wife has walked past me as i surf ont he laptop and said WHAT KIND OF SITE ARE YOU LOOKING AT - i replied - no honey its just a watch site i think some are over the top. You do have a way to turn it off. and - yes Pugs, Firefox and adblock is awesome - i dind't even know the forum had ads until someone started saying no one was clicking on them. makes the whole web experience better - especially on the drudge report. Ofcourse you can respond to that. I only don`t understand your answer in relation to the question. What i wanted to know was why member gioarmani thinks he is entitled to use very explicit pictures for his avatar on a watchboard. As gioarmani stated he was asked on another board to remove his sig & avatar and he thought that was the most stupid question ever. Well if it wasn`t at any pornsite it wasn`t such a stupid question in my book.

gioarmani
"very explicit" !?! Hmmm...with all due respect, an ass is not necessarily sexually explicit, and neither are most pics on here, especially when there's no nudity involved--if you want to get technical, mine have never contained or shown genitalia, but there's an avatar on this very page that actually contains a penis and a scrotum! Now I understand that Mr. DaVinci's model's [censored] was not meant to be sexual, but there are plenty of brain-dead, comically-uptight conservatives who would automatically think just the mere sight of his uncircumcised trouser-snake is "wrong"--the same way some might think my pic's content is "wrong"--just because his pump-action yogurt rifle is out there dangling in the wind. It's all subjective though, and to me it's nothing to get uptight about...after 2 wasted years of psychology in college, a lot of people who get so hot over such small quandaries generally have bigger issues they need to deal with (and that comment is NOT aimed at anyone specific posting here or anywhere else). We all know there's plenty worse than that in Cosmo, Vogue, GQ, Victoria's Secret, and on the evening's TV commercials for cheeseburgers starring Paris Hilton. Sexuality doesn't always equal obscene or pornographic. The first thing that springs to mind on the issue of non-watch avatars & sigs is that cute girls and cute butts may not be directly related to watches, very true, but then neither are motocross logos, Muppets, bicycle handlebars, cross-eyed guys, funny mustaches, fountain pens, Japanese race-cars, pipes, DaVinci sketches, or any of the other thousands of pics the members choose to embellish their profiles with (and those were the ones seen just on this page ). A little variety & spice is needed--if every single pic, posting, avatar, and sig contained nothing BUT watches, this place would be as boring and single-minded as a Trekkie at a Star Trek convention! Now, just for clarification, the issue of "stupidity" to me wasn't the fact that someone asked me to remove an ass from my sig--which I did, kindly & voluntarily (although I wish I could still have it, but I'm not one to go back on my word)--what was stupid to me was the principle of surfing the net in front of children... and not ever expecting to bump into anything that might be viewed as questionably sexual. If I had kids, I probably wouldn't be on the internet in front of them period, and not just for something as sensationalized as sexuality, but that's just me. If someone is trying to live their life attempting to avoid sexuality, be it on their kid's behalf or not--so be it, to each his own--but I don't feel it's realistic; you can't even drive around the block without encountering something sexual (a song on the radio, someone's outfit, a billboard, a bumper sticker, a thought in your own head, etc.) I simply didn't feel like it was my responsibility as an adult for me to change what I'm doing within the constraints of that particular board, in an attempt to police the viewing habits of someone who might happen to be wandering by the screen of someone else's computer, on the other side of the planet. But in that particular case I was happy to oblige, and that was that. I certainly hope I don't offend anyone, I'm merely trying to post a pretty picture. We all post things that are nice to look at, be it women, watches, landscapes, sports, or cars--that's why this board exists. Simple aesthetics; the appreciation of a handsome watch. And the occasional nice ass. _

You just don't get it. I feel sorry for you. Your pictures (avatar and sig) are of a sexual nature. If you can't understand that, you really need to just take everyone else's word for it. It's the sort of stuff that can get people in trouble at work. Not you, obviously, but other people. People you apparently have no respect for. Sorry to be the one to call you selfish as I enjoy your posts and find you a thoroughly decent chap apart from the enforced 'sexy pics'.
