ubiquitous Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 'SWISS MADE' needs to be just a bit smaller/thinner I think... But this looks very good thus far!
ajsgolfer28 Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 Can't believe they managed to rep the hack movement/date adjustment like the gen!!!!!! Unbelievable.. Angus delivers big time on all the noob collaborations his does. I miss his threads from rg his knowledge and insight was quality.
FxrAndy Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 I see nothing different on the hack and date set than normal eta, but what they have donr is get the crown lock working, and for one i quite like that watch, week point is the 4 screws holdong the case back on, if one of those strips then you can say good buy to any water resistancy
blackdice Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 I see nothing different on the hack and date set than normal eta, but what they have donr is get the crown lock working, and for one i quite like that watch, week point is the 4 screws holdong the case back on, if one of those strips then you can say good buy to any water resistancy I totally agree, maybe replacement screws or gen screws would help? Or locktie the screw down?
FxrAndy Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 I think the weak points are the threads in the case, if it was the screw that stripped it would not bother me you can get screws, but when the case strips you are fcuked
mt666tm Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 i just tried this on in AD a few days ago. Its very cool, and light! I wish theyd rep the 44mm with dual crowns, but i may pre order this one...
Inertiadrifter Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Wow!! Looks awesome. I might pre order one. I need to unload some reps fast!!!
4000ft Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 'SWISS MADE' needs to be just a bit smaller/thinner I think... But this looks very good thus far! Thought the same but there appears to be a little variation in the gens Big SWISS MADE (S appears to line up with 32.5 seconds), small bezel dots Small SWISS MADE (S lines up between 31 to 31.25 seconds) , bigger bezel dots Rep is like the first one in both respects
ubiquitous Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Very interesting! I've only seen the version with small SWISS MADE, so this is very educational for me. This piece is looking better and better to me
4000ft Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Small SWISS MADE (S lines up between 31 to 31.25 seconds) , bigger bezel dots Meant 32 to 32.25.... Edited May 30, 2012 by 4000ft
MADRED7 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Mmmh, I cannot warm with this watch. I tryied one on my wrist some months ago while meating some watch-nuts....absolutely not my style.... - too small - too normal - covered rubber strap looks silly on this watch Good replication though...but not my cup of tea. HartDoc Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I was going to get the gen. Like the previous poster said too small / average. But if its truely as great a rep as it seems, for the right price, I would surely would use it to replace my black rep Rolex sub in my rotation. Just because it's different.
andyaudi42 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) This one looks awesome. Only thing other than pearl/triangle that needs to be looked at is the hands (the pointer is too small, and the arrow is a little too narrow) and the curves parts on teh 12, 6, 9 need to be more curved. Looks like the polished areas on the lug edges isnt the right size or shape either... hopefully final product is better. Youll see what im talking about in a side by side. luibaka Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Looks good, but unfortunately too small for my taste
chrgod Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 No doubt a good replication, but it looks like a Breitling diver with the rubbercladded bracelet from a Cartier Seatimer.. :-/ Think I will pass this and wait for a good Reverso. I have "enough" divers in the collection. Nevertheless: Cudos to Angus and the Noob-maker!
ryaku Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 nice watch..curious to see the price though. If I take a look at last releases I see crazy prices
atomic_doug Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 Think I will pass this and wait for a good Reverso. I have "enough" divers in the collection. I'm of the same mind. It looks like a great rep and I sure the people who get it will be pleased, but for me, this is a positive sign that JLC is getting some attention from the factories and maybe a super Reverso is on the horizon. ...perhaps even the Tribute 1931 version.
ck5533 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 if i get this one, i properly have to sell my DSN's Fifty Fathom diver!
