My absolute grail, the 6265 "Big Red"

Hello RWG !

After many weeks months years (2 years, in fact) of a very hard journey, I finally finished my first manual Daytona project - the 6265

Finding the parts was hard... Finding the right watchmaker to work with was very hard...

Next step is a 6240 with the same kind of parts

Here is a quick list of the parts used :

- Valjoux 726 "Roamer" in pristine-like-new conditions. Takes 1sec by day on the timegraph, can you believe it ?

- Phong case and case back, 5.2 mil, 2nd generation "thin" case to emulate a polished case over the time

- Silver Big Red dial, 2nd generation, with gen hands. Most of the Tritium plots are here, witch is very good

- Gen MKIII 6265 bezel

- NOS 702 crown and 7020 tube

- Gen T21

- Phong pushers, because his case is a big [censored] [censored] of [censored]. It would be gen P302 otherwise :)

- 7835 bracelet and 271 end links, because 571 are not fitting, and I was lucky enough to find this bracelet in new conditions 1 week ago. End links was NOS / never used, can you believe it ?

Because some photos talks much better than I can, here we are... Hope you'll enjoy it !!!

Congrats pal!

Glad to see all your efforts come true in this 6265... can't wait to see your 6538, I miss mine :( maybe it's time to start a new project for me once I finish all those vintage pams I have on the table right now ...

Salute!

Thanks you all guys for the comments, it is really appreciated ! :) :)

I'm now finishing my 16520 with my WM before starting the 6240... Will be an amazing build... I'll keep you updated !

I know a lot of sweat and tears went into it, but I hope it was worth it.

Ohhh yes it worth it... The only thing I can say is I'm appreciating the build even more considering the time I had to wait to finally have it ...! :D

There's GOT to be something we can do to get gen pushers on there though!!

Well, I need to check what tools are needed to retap and redo the threading of the case for the pushers

Then, I'll ask my WM if he can do this. Or I have to find somebody in France to do it, because I'm not very hot to re-send my case to Phong over the seas

If anyone have the info, or if anyone can ask The Zig about the tools needed (I know he is probably the best to do it), it would be much much appreciated....... :)

--- and thanks again for the comments guys, so much appreciated ! :)
