2892-a2 and super luminova for $228 is a great deal. The watch is not my cup of tea but for passionate followers, Santa has arrived 3 1/2 weeks early!!!!

My guess is the 2892 is the copy movement.

My guess is the 2892 is the copy movement.

Oh I'm sure it is. I don't think there's a genuine 2892 in any replica, is there????

From previous testimonials, the Seagul copy is a reliable movement.

Not to stomp on the thread but.......

With so much "style and trend" debate going on over Pams in recent threads, isn't this watch the definition of "soon to be relegated to the pet rock pile"?

Well that is down to the buyer. Only time will tell if we are still wearing 45mm POs or railmaster XXLs in 2-3 years. In the 60s and 70s people wore flared trousers and then in the 80s you would not dare now look around, if you follow fashions then you will wear what is in fashion. personaly i still wear now what i wore when i was 20 as it suited me and my life style then and still does. Some people will find that they are a "pam man" to coin a phase and maybe always like the same thing, not also to forget brand loyalty even among reps!

a 46mm SQUARE watch is HUGE, I mean unbelievably large. Draw out a 46mm square on soem paper... then imagine it on your wrist... it is crazy.

MUCH bigger feeling than even 50mm round watches. This thing makes a 47mm XL PAM seem SMALL and that is crazy time.

True 2892 and 2893's did show up in first gen FM Conquistadors, PAM GMT's and Power Reserves - 27, 28, 29 and 63. And they do still pop up once in a while. But most watches with that movement start at $400 or more (except for FM but it doesn't come with ETA movement anymore).

That watch looks great though, the seagull movement will work just fine and (IMHO) thatseems to be a good price. 1:1 cased reps are increasing exponentially this year. :) Unfortunately original movement reps other than the most basic are rapidly disappearing this year as well. :wounded1:

@ TVT Quite, but the person it was designed for needs to see the time very quickly and it is worn on the outside of a VERY thick sleave so on an EOD specialist it would not look out of place. But hey that what people want to wear.

@ Kruzer00. True, i would like to see more movements getting repped, there was quite a pervers plesure when i found that my rep aqua Terra (base works ETA 2892) had a repped 2892 (seagull) ticking away in it. now i would be extatic to hear that seagull were working on as good a rep of a rolex 3135 or the new pam 8 day movement.

I had one on a couple of months ago. It is not cuved so on a bare wrist, it's a little like wearing a bed side table alarm clock on your arm. As a pilot tool worn over a flight suit and a glove, it doesn't look abnormal but it is a conversation piece first and a watch second if you're not strapped into an F-22.

To quote my Python friends, "Tis a silly looking watch."

Silly, maybe...but screw it. I just bought one. Should get here the exact same time as the genuine velcro strap I ordered. Merry Christmas to me.

You know, I don't mind the Asian movements but what bugs the HELL out of me is the fact that dealers don't tell you they are Asian "replicas" of genuine ETA. In fact I have purchased watches that specificly said "genuine ETA XXX" and priced accordingly, just to later find out it was a fake.

I give credit to those dealers who list "Asian 7750" for example but between all the copy "Swiss" Unitas movements in Pams (almost all of which are actually cheap ass fakes) and now this type of thing is is starting to bug me.

Don't list the movement as "ETA 2892" when it simply is NOT that movement! I purchased a first gen PAM GMT that actually DOES have a genuine in it and it costs a fortune so don't mislead people with mislabled stuff.

Me too, there is no reason to mislead in this department alot of the people here will be very disapointed to find out the Chiss works is in fact full chinese. we should be in my opinion advetising this movement. After 2009 and ETAs become harder to get i think we will see alot more of these seagull works. How bad can there manufacturing prosess be? they can make a full working turbi for XXXXX sake! Maybe they could rep other works 3135 maybe???????
